He has represented hundreds of clients achieve focused market exposure while negotiating the highest possible price for their homes. Alex holds a psychology degree from the University of California at Berkeley and is a member of Stanford University’s Influence & Negotiations Strategies Program.

Alex’s American-​born Chinese or «ABC» background has also helped him better understand and serve his clients who come from various cultural backgrounds and ethnicities. His servant-​style attitude comes from a realization that being a real estate agent means a lot more than just selling homes. Alex currently resides in Los Altos with his beautiful bride, three amazing kids, and their dog Chloe.

Established in 1999.

Tired of playing the numbers game leading a top producing agent team with a major real estate franchise, Alex Wang founded Rainmaker. Alex wanted to shake up the traditional real estate business model and focus on building relationships, giving back to the community and providing the highest quality of service — a unique concept in the profit driven Silicon Valley real estate marketplace.

It was by focusing on top service and lasting relationships, that Rainmaker has continued to thrive in what many consider one of the most challenging real estate markets in decades. Alex’s philosophy of «giving back» to the community, strong customer service and the highest ethical standards has contributed to the growth and success of Rainmaker and in 2012 Rainmaker was acquired by the Sereno Group in Palo Alto.

Alex now maintains a tight knit team of an executive assistant, escrow coordinator, and buyer’s agent to exclusively serve select Silicon Valley professionals.

In 2012, the Rainmaker Team was acquired by the Sereno Group and Alex still maintains his team and now serves as a principal and broker associate for the Palo Alto office of Sereno Group.

Alex is American-​born, of Chinese descent and fluent in Mandarin Chinese. He has been active in selling and buying Silicon Valley real estate since 1999. Alex is a true professional. As much as I wanted to list a high dollar home for a client in Alex’s area, the distance from my So Cal hub was not realistic and I was not going to trust a valued client with any random agent. I looked at several agents and none stood out like Alex, from his online presence to his response time and through both my personal meeting with Alex and then Alex’s meeting with the client. Not only is Alex’s communication as good as they come, he was able to hold the clients hand through an emotional sale and provide services that they needed but could not have done on their own.
I will emulate many of the practices I’ve learned from Alex and would refer him on any opportunity I get. If I lived and worked in the Palo Alto or surrounding area, Alex is who I would want to work with and learn from.

I was under pressure buying a home under a very tight time frame, but when I started the whole process, I didn’t have anything prepared, luckily I found Alex.
Alex and his team are super responsive. they quickly scheduled our first meeting after I called them, and that meeting was on Sunday. They answer my questions very quickly and always keep me updated if there is anything needs to be taken care of.
Alex and his team are extremely professional and knowledgable. As a first time buyer, I have very limited knowledge on how to buy a home, especially in such a competitive market. Alex and his team scheduled a workshop for me and explained all the key things that I need to know when buying a home. They always provide me with detailed information whenever I have questions and they also gave me a lot of tips I never thought about. The mortgage agent they introduced to me did a fantastic job to nail down the loan, I got a very low interest rate and awesome loan credit, and it only took 20 days for closing!
Alex and his team are exceptionally good at negotiation. They help me come up with different competitive offers and they present my offer in person! I’m not sure how many agents would do that, but based on all my friends’ experience they’re the only one does that. The most amazing thing is that they helped me beat all my competitors with much lower offer price! One of the competitor offered $ 20k more than I did but my offer got accepted! Yes, they’er that magical.
Alex and his team use advanced technologies to give their clients wonderful experience during the process. As you all know, there are tons of documents that require you to sign and then send back to your agent, which is a pain for most of us. But Alex and his team make it very easy by using digital signing system, you can read, sign and submit documents all on your finger tips. You may not believe, I signed up most of the documentation when I was on vacation!
Alex and his team care about their clients. They treat me as their friend, they think about things for me, they care about my feelings and they give suggestions to me as if they’re the one buying home. I feel very comfortable during the entire process, everything was smooth like butter.
All in all, I cannot imagine how a real estate expert can be better than Alex and his team.

This review is LONG overdue, but I felt that it’s better late than never, especially considering the experience we had with Alex.
Alex is extremely knowledgeable with real estate and market trends and is a negotiating master. He was able to get us an all cash, no contingencies offer at 15% over asking on our «cluster» home the day after our first open house weekend in March. On top of that he was able to negotiate 3 months of rent back for free! He was never pushy during the whole process and was always available to answer questions or address concerns. We were constantly given updates and kept in the loop on what was going on, so we rarely had any questions/​concerns. Alex takes pride in what he does and truly takes care of his clients.
We were also very impressed with his whole team. The communication and level of organization is phenomenal! EVERYTHING was executed as expected with no surprises. Sure, he charges the top of the average range for commission, but keep in mind, Alex is a primo-​agent. Don’t be fooled by the «value» agents… you really get what you pay for. The quality of the agent will be one of the determining factors on how long your house will sit on market, how much it will sell for, how quickly it will close, and how much headache you will have during the process.
In short, Alex is a bad a$$ agent. You have a home you want to sell at top dollar? Call this man. Want someone that will be like a protective older brother during the whole process (and even after closing)? Call this man. Want someone that will keep on top of things and make you feel like a valued and honored client? CALL THIS MAN! Want a huge goodie basket after closing? CALL ALEX WANG! Seriously, I think I have a man crush here…
No doubt we will use Alex again in the future.

We chose Alex Wang to be the selling realtor for our Palo Alto home during a stressful time in our life. He and his fabulous team guided us through the complex process with solid professionalism, calm reassurance, and extremely smart insights about how to prepare our house for the sale. He always had good suggestions about what prep work should be done, but was very flexible and willing to listen to our suggestions also.
Alex was very responsive to all our questions and concerns, and always communicated with us in a timely and clear manner using both texts and phone calls, and the latest in electronic tools. When the contractors we had hired ourselves ended up not working out, he jumped in quickly to provide extremely capable alternatives. (Our AC stopped working the day before our open house, and he somehow managed in a matter of hours to find a competent repairman to fix the problem!)
The marketing and staging teams presented our house beautifully — great photos and marketing materials.
When we received offers for the house, Alex did a superb job in negotiating the best price for us, using his top-​notch expertise for us in a very changeable and fluid situation. We were very pleased with the outcome of his negotiations.
I’d also like to give a special shout-​out to Kris Young and Jessica Chang for their hard work and for being so patient with me on some of my more rattled days.
And last but not least, Alex and his team are good, ethical people.

I was referred to Alex by my brother. Alex is very professional and knows the Bay Area very well. He’s been doing this for a long time. He is easy to talk to and provides great advice. usual, as lease land is involved.
Besides being very professional and smoothing the way through all the negotiations,
ALex is a very warm and supportive person. We could always be in touch about any

For such a major financial and life decision, buying or selling a home finds many of us woefully underprepared. If you’re not in real estate, you may find yourself out of your element in a process which can be totally overwhelming. When it was time to sell in Menlo Park, I took the time to consult with multiple agents to find someone who was a good match. I finally landed on Alex, and I couldn’t be happier — he had the high standards of skill, ethics, and care I was looking for.
From the get-​go, I felt taken care of. Along with his staff of Joe and Chris, every step was planned and executed smoothly, with a tight timeline. Staging, landscaping, listing — all of it was done to high standards. The 3D walkthrough and photos on his website were amazing! Every effort was made to show the home at its best.
Communication was great throughout, with regular phone, email and text check ins. He’s quite tech savvy and will video chat on any platform you use. I really appreciated his honesty about how things were going with open houses and my questions and concerns.
Regarding ethics and professionalism, I certainly wanted top performance, but not if it meant anything other than a 100% clean sale. Alex does not double-​end (act simultaneously as buying and selling agent), and he always took care to be sure my disclosures and the presentation of the house we were advertising were correct.
When it came time to negotiate, Alex did an outstanding job. Late into the night, he juggled multiple offers and after some back and forth got us a deal I was happy with.
In short, I give Alex five stars, easily. He is a true professional and is the best you can find in Silicon Valley real estate.

So many choices when it comes to picking our real estate agent. Why did we pick Alex? He look and sound professional when educating us on the selling process. Also he gave no opinions on what the house would sell for and only ask us how much we would like to sell it. We asked him to get us the best possible price and to close quickly. Alex and his team went beyond our expectation. Man oh man, did he deliver!!!
What did we love about working with Alex?
— He’s down to earth and pleasant to work with.
— He presented us an option to reduce our out of pocket expense for the remodel.

I have worked with 5 realtors on 5 different transactions and Alex is the best by far. Alex and his team helped us selling our Sunnyvale home and here is what I love about him.
· He is extremely focus on listening and understanding our concerns/​needs to provide us the best services/​solutions. We felt that Alex is on our side every step of the way.
· Faster time to market. Speed, speed, speed. I don’t know how they do it but his team is extremely efficient and zero time was wasted idling.
· First offer 19% above asking price within 24 hour on MLS. His team is great at marketing. Our home was cleaned, nicely staged, beautiful images were taken and Alex marketed it before it is even ready.
· Sold our home at a price exceeded our highest expected price by 10%. Alex negotiation skill is a rarity.
· Signing, reviewing paperwork is a breeze and speedy. He uses the latest technology to connect his team with us and allow us to review paperwork and sign them using our computers or phones anytime any where as long as there is internet.
· Extensive remodel finished on schedule. Kris and Alex are organized and on schedule. They helped us with an extensive remodel. His team managed the entire project except for a few minor items that we wanted take on our self. His recommended contractors do quality work on schedule which is not common for big projects.
· Cost effective remodel recommendations getting us the most return for our remodel. My favorites are replacing yellow outdated windows to allow more light into the living room, repaint the kitchen cabinet white instead of resurface, and create a door from the living room to the laundry room to make in an indoor laundry room.
· Knowledgeable and experienced with bay area real estate market. I find his real estate related blog
entertaining and informative.
· But best of all Alex is a good guy. He is down to earth, sincere and pleasant to work with.
Would I recommend Alex and his team? No, because we want to have them all to our self.

Yes he did it again. Alex teamed up with Parker Sharp to beat all odds in this challenging seller market and negotiated us a wonderful home for 25 thousands less than what we originally wanted to pay. We won the home for similar price to a home nearby with similar lot size and condition, except our home is 1740sf and their is 1230sf. Great great deal!

This real estate market is a little crazy… It takes luck, patience, and a lot of money to buy something. Well, and a great agent totally helps too! Alex helped us purchase our first home and:
— Answered a myriad of first time home buyer questions and listed to our concerns, and worked us during the (many) months of looking
— Was able to help us think of creative strategies to position ourselves well in this competitive market, which made all the difference
— Helped make sure everything went as smoothly as possible, from making sure our loan officer knew his stuff to helping us schedule inspections and recommended vendors (even for post-​escrow things, like refinishing our floors and painters)
— Really advocated for us the whole way, and not just to make sure the transaction went through, but also made sure we were truly happy
— Was really thoughtful with a lot of little things along the way that made things easier for us

Silicon Valley
My wife and I met with Alex a year prior (2012) to actually putting our house on the market. We met with him at Sereno Group’s Palo Alto office to explore our options. I was amazed by his knowledge, professionalism, and organization! A very detailed report with recent comps and information about our residence was prepared us. Alex was patient and spent over an hour with us answering all our questions.
Fast forward a year to late 2013.
We were now ready to move and knew we wanted Alex and his team to represent us in selling our house. This time we met with him and Sara at his Willow Glen office. They were both great! We set out a timeline and started the «For Sale» process.
Kris Y. from Sereno group helped coordinate our contractors. We used several vendors that have a worked closely with Alex to recarpet, repaint, deep clean, and stage our house. Their prices were competitive and all did high quality work. Kris kept me in the loop and informed the entire process. He was easy to get a hold of and responded quickly to my questions.
We had a successful open house weekend with beautifully printed flyers. Several offers came in a few days later. Alex called us and went through each offer in detail. Alex’s expertise in negotiation was evident when he secured us a no-​contingency offer over our asking price with a backup buyer (under the same terms)!

I expected realtors in the Bay Area to be working at an especially high level of professionalism when I began interviewing several to sell my parent’s home. But, Alex stood out of a crowd of very qualified candidates, and along with his team, performed with incredible efficiency, intelligence, and aplomb, selling the home in a couple of weeks for 20% over the asking price.

Alex and his team are amazing. My husband and I wouldn’t be in our new home if it weren’t for him. Alex goes above and beyond to ensure you have the best chance of purchasing your new home especially in this competitive market. Our first meeting was outside of his working hours, and he patiently answered all our questions and put our mind at ease through what can be a very stressful process. Not only did Alex help us prepare a competitive offer, he also presented it in person to the sellers which sets us apart from the mere paper offers. We actually ended up having our offer accepted even though it wasn’t the highest offer that the seller received. We worked with Alex to buy our first home back in 2009 and we just sold that same home with Alex (Aug 2014).
When buying our home, he was instrumental in helping us determine the proper bid given the market at the time. Furthermore, he made sure we had all of our ducks lined up in a row to help ensure we could make the best offer possible.
For our home sale, he helped ensure we priced at the right price; and we sold above asking. He was also instrumental in vetting the buyers and ensuring we got the most we could for our home.
He’s as professional as it gets, if not more so. And his true talent shines in the negotiation process! In a market where things move fast, you really need an experienced agent, with an efficient team. Alex and his team did the job.
Furthermore, when it comes down to crunch time (making and taking offers and closing the deal) Alex shines again — you can expect him to be available and on top of it — even when it’s his supposed «day off» (Sorry Alex, Hope that doesn’t set some unrealistic expectations from future clients!)
