Chris and his team helped me with a project for a new AV system for my mother. He listened to the project requirements, her needs and made great suggestions in terms of the solution needed and how it would integrate into her existing whole unit, multi-​room audio system.
Throughout the process from project scope to installation, Chris was easy to work with, courteous and detail-​oriented. Once we finalized the proposal, Chris quickly ordered the equipment and set an install date. For the install, the team was on time, efficient, clean and did a great job of teaching my mother how to use to new system once installed.
It’s been one day and my mother had some questions on the new system and Chris had two team members come to her to help her with the questions right away.

We just had Chris at Adaptive Systems install a multi-​room video and audio system as part of a remodel. Chris and his colleagues were great to work with — from start to finish they were very responsive, provided high quality easy to use products, and were delightful to interact with. They handled everything — from helping us design our system, to selecting the right equipment, to installation (and even the bumps that came up during the installation, like a defective Comcast box) in a way that left us feeling engaged everywhere we wanted to be, and taken care of everywhere we didn’t! I highly recommend them and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.

We recently used Adaptive Systems for a home theatre install and light networking job in our home. Chris and his team were on time, professional, clear with their communications and recommendations. They did all the work in a day! And I arrived home to a newly mounted TV, perfectly sorted and nicely wired up AV closet, new Cat5 and HDMI, full Sonos setup, speaker installation and updated WiFi network. Best of all — no mess! These guys are great, fairly priced and very nice.

I had a ton of older/​legacy stereo systems done by SoundPerfections and other prior companies the past 10 years, and I needed to upgrade while still preserving the value of some of my equipment.
Chris/​team took the time to understand my needs and came up with a cost effective plan to get me the quality of «current» systems at a reasonable cost. All his suggestions were dead-​on, and his dedication to quality, service, and fair price was amazing. During the installation, I had made mid-​course changes since I hadn’t thought thru what I exactly needed/​wanted, and Chris worked with me to ensure that I ended up with a perfect solution! He did an amazing job (and I am super critical and a perfectionist so that says a lot). I’d strongly suggest you bounce your stereo/​AV needs off Chris (and ask him for referrals — and I’d be happy to be one of them).

We decided to paint our family room and cabinets, which involved removing the electronics. One look at all the wires and disarray made me realize that 10 years is a century with electronics. A friend recommended Chris, so I called him to give me an estimate of how much it would cost to bring my system up to date. He never suggested we replace everything, because the quality of many of our components is still very high. However, I was using 4 remotes where I could use one, and our sound equipment was not providing us with the best quality. I hesitated at first from changing remotes, but am so happy I did because one remote is easy, and if it’s easy for me, it will be easy for you, ’cause I am not very tech oriented and want something very logical and simple. Chris did the work beyond what I had expected, and was polite and positive through the process. He wanted to understand how we use our system so it worked for us. When he left he made it clear that if we had any problems or didn’t understand how to work some part of the system, just to email or call. I admire young entrepreneurs, and Chris is young, smart polite and talented. I rarely review service people, but I recommend Adaptive Systems with absolutely no hesitation. He does wiring, networking, home theater and system upgrades.

Chris was fantastic. Very professional and very high end work. Also, he clearly takes pride in his work, wants it to look great and wants you to know how to use your new technology (takes the time to teach you). And when questions came up later on, he was there to answer them — highly recommended!

We worked with Chris to set up our audio and video systems in our new house remodel. He introduced us to the Sonos system (which we LOVE LOVE LOVE). Chris was great to work with. Before choosing Chris I received quotes from other companies, by far Chris was the most reasonable and he was able to work with me further to give me everything I wanted in my budget. Many other companies that do this type of work are THIEVES in what they want to charge you. Chris did the same work for much much less than the others. We had many contractors in and out of this house for our remodel project. I can count on one hand the guys I did not have to worry about. Chris was absolutely one of these guys. Very professional, showed up when he said he would, did the job he promised, easy to communicate with. I recommend Chris highly for any project, large or small. He’s a good guy. I will use his help forever! btw, he installed 8 rock speakers in our backyard — it sounds like a concert hall out there :-) Thanks Chris!

I’ve worked with Adaptive Systems (Chris Smith) for the past year. He installed our home stereo system as we were remodeling our kitchen, family room and living room. He also came back to install speakers outside when we updated our landscaping.
Chris worked incredibly well with our builder and our landscaper, which was key to getting the work done in concert with other contractors. Chris also provided thoughtful guidance about our system options, including what would work best for our house layout and our backyard. He didn’t try to «upsell» us on any equipment and actually advised against some equipment others suggested we install (surround sound for a small room).
Chris’s pricing was fair and transparent, and his service and responsiveness were fantastic. Chris was very reliable, honest and has an easy going style which made him great to work with. He has continued to be there to answer follow up questions by phone and email, which has helped us a lot as we worked through how to use the new equipment.
I highly recommend Chris and his company.

Chris at Adaptive Systems completed a home theater and distributed audio system installation in our home last fall and we are extremely happy with the results.
I was referred to Chris by a coworker and asked him and two others to bid on the project. I asked each party to provide a bid that included a «good, better and best» option that would allow me to better understand the trade-​offs between various solutions and costs. Of the three bidders, Chris was the only one who was responsive to that request.
Also, many installers make a significant amount of margin from equipment sales. I received bids that included pricey amplifiers, professional racking systems, power conditioners, etc. that were either unnecessary or, at a minimum, excessive. Again, Chris stood out from the pack by pricing his equipment competitively with prices that I found on Amazon or other sites that sold direct. On the items where he could not compete on price (like the TV) he was up front about it and had no problem when I bought it through Amazon instead.
Chris was also responsive to my request that everything be able to run through an iPad even though it would have been faster/​easier for him to push a system to which he was more accustomed. Chris was willing to spend money on programming software at his expense in order to provide the solution we initially chose, but also continued exploring the market and ended up finding one (Crestron Prodigy) that was 1) more robust; and 2) allowed him to leverage his existing programming knowledge.
When we ran into some issues on the installation front, Chris was proactive on finding an alternative approach that ended up providing a substantially better outcome. Although it was more expensive then the initial estimate, Chris worked with me to come in at a price that was fair for both of us.
Since the initial installation, Chris has been very responsive to addressing minor programming fixes and the like, of which there have been very few. As we add and expand our system, we will continue to use Chris’ services without hesitation.
