History
Established in 1844.
Began in 1844 on Young Road in Jefferson County, Wisconsin, and was named Skoponong by the congregation. In 1936 the building was struck by lightening and a new church building was bought on Main Street in Palmyra. The name was changed to St. Matthew in 1959. The love of Christ, planted in the hearts of the early settlers, is still alive and growing at St. Matthew.
