We offer professional and affordable counseling for individuals and families at three locations in Miami-​Dade: Homestead, Palmetto Bay & Downtown Miami.

At our Family Life Centers, we offer free pregnancy testing as well as limited OB ultrasounds for unplanned pregnancies, life skills training, parenting, pregnancy and life skills education, targeted case management, professional mental health counseling and community referrals.

Our Mobile Health Unit partners with community organizations and local churches to offer free dental care and health screenings to individuals and families in need.

Meet the Manager

Elizabeth S.

Manager

Dr. Elizabeth Skjoldal is the Executive Director of Caring for Miami. She has been Associate Professor and Director of the Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology, Trinity International University since 1994. Prior to that, she was the supervising psychologist at the University of Miami’s Pain and Rehabilitation Center in the Department Neurosurgery. She has lectured at a number of professional societies, including The Southern Pain Society and The American Pain Society. Dr Skjoldal often speaks to women’s youth and parenting groups. Her areas of interest include multicultural issues in counseling, group process behavioral medicine, assessment of bilingual students and the provision of counseling to underserved populations. She is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and the American Counseling Association. She has also been in private practice as a psychologist at Christian Counseling Ministry in Miami and Sheridan House Counseling Center in Broward County.
