While having a filling replaced and waiting for everything to set, I was treated to a warm parafin wax hand treatment. After such a long day it was a godsend. The following massage was the icing on the cake.

Had my cavity filled today and a relaxing hot paraffin hand treatment followed by a fantastic wrist and hand massage. One of the many extras you can expect in addition to excellent dentistry services with Dr. Powell and is staff. I highly recommend his office.

My go to dentist, super nice and friendly, offers tons of amenities while they work, ipods, headphones, blankets, hot cocoa, tea, water, and anything else you would want while you’re being worked on! They will always remember your name and always do great work, highly recommend! If you don’t go here where else would you go? Probably somewhere without this kind of customer service!

Actually, Dr. Powell is an excellent dentist with a very impressive office. It’s a shame his staff are not as competent in their line of duties. We are a family of four and were very clear on what type of insurance we have and were VERY clear about what we are expecting our portion of payment would be after services. Basic cleaning for 3 of us and periodontal maintenance for the other. We pay zero for basic and $ 15.00 for the extensive work. They also had our x-​rays (which are good for 5 years) from our previous Dentist. We were charged $ 132.00 after the 1^st visit for one patient. Obviously, our «being very clear» was not important to the staff member that assisted us and made the decision to shaft us with this high bill. A grievance was filed with our dental coverage but services rendered and «types» of insurance a dentist takes is the patient’s responsibility to research. Asking the front office worker to verify this is just ignorance by the patient I suppose. You know… they just collet and cash a check every two weeks and pay their rent. What do they care? So, as a patient make sure you do the following: 1. Research the type of insurance that is covered by your plan, unless you’re willing to pay more. 2. If the 9 – 5 worker tells you something «to good to be true» make them put it in a written estimate. 3. You can refuse any services and/​or suggestions. Like additional (unnecessary) x-​rays or put a cap on a tooth for $ 700.00 when you just want it pulled. The Dentist wants to make money. Yeah, kinda like a mechanic. You just went for an oil change and leave with a new motor. Dr. Powell is very good at his profession and continues his education. Maybe he can encourage his 9 – 5’s to take an evening course in communication studies. Because if they listened to us, we would have not gone to this office for our cleanings.

Always a pleasant experience, when I finally do come in, and believe me, it’s a lot of making, breaking and rescheduling appt’s. But in all seriousness, Dr. Powell’s office is always clean, and in order, and there are plenty of refreshments to drink, and Trident gum to chew on while you wait. They’re always having awesome giveaways, such as iPads, movie tickets, etc., which makes coming to the dentist more fun than it already is. Their equipment and technology is unparalleled to anything that I have seen in any other dental offices, they can take x-​rays while you wait in the chair, they do same day procedures, where at other places it may take several office visits. They offer amenities such as cold water to drink (in the dentist chair, that is), warm blankets to cover you, iPod’s (with your favorite type of music, or preference), or movie glasses (I haven’t tried those yet, but yes, they’re also on their amenities menu), all while having work done to your mouth, all to make you as comfortable as possible. So enough about all the wonderful things this dental practice has to offer, on to the staff.
I was recommended this wonderful establishment from a friend, and his wife happens to be a receptionist at this office, he name is Tootie, she is very professional, caring and sweet, and truly cares about the patients needs, and is always there to help.
Brian, he is amazing! I recently had one of those dreadful deep cleanings, where they need to numb your mouth to clean the teeth? Well, Brian gave me a topic numbing medicine, and besides it tasting bitter, and horrible… the combination of the topical numbing ointment, and Brian’s soft caring touch, I did not feel a thing. He even worked around my braces, and I did not get my braces with Dr. Powell, which I should have, but that was not a problem for a professional like Brian, he was able to past them, and clean my teeth.
The only issue I do have is that, every time I go in there, I end up buying something. Keep in mind, they don’t try to sell it to me, but just like those awesome advertising companies, they put things out where you can see it, ask about it. For example, I saw the Sonic Care toothbrush, sitting on the shelf in the procedure room, this on my first visit, and I asked Brian about it, and he told me all about it, so I bought it on my first visit. I don’t regret that purchase one bit, I use it all the time, and I can get brush head replacements super cheap at Costco. The last time I went in, I saw that they had a water floss thingy, also on a shelf, in the procedure room, I have been thinking about getting one, and me having braces, and it being super difficult to floss with standard floss, I decided to buy it, great investment for my teeth. The only issue being is that, I spend extra money, but it is worth, and you’ll get it at a better deal than other department stores, and as I mentioned before, it’s for a good investment on your teeth.
Overall a wonderful place!

Today was my first day coming to Dr. Powell and I have nothing but positive reviews. As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted and was given a tour of the whole office and they show how up to date the doctor is on dentistry. The lady brought me to the room and asked me if I needed anything because they are all about making sure the patients are comfortable. Then the hygienist came, he did a great job and I meet the doctor who also checked my teeth. And the best part is, is when I left my teeth weren’t sore. Every time I left my old dentist my teeth were always sore. So overall the place was clean and the staff was very friendly.

Dr. Powell and the staff are the best. Not only does he make sure that he is the most up to date with dental techniques, but he also ensures they are all the most current with patient comfort and care.
They often go to conferences as a complete team. That commitment to patient care is what makes this office stand out over any I have been to before. Dr. Powell is the dentist you look forward to visiting, for you know they really care about your health.
Dr. Powell believes in technology that makes your life easier. You begin by updating your profile on a laptop– you don’t rewrite the same info on paper. The waiting room is comfortable with water or tea. The dental technician takes your blood pressure and checks your info on another computer the updates your x-​rays digitally on a huge screen so you can check as well.
If you need any procedure, there are warm blankets, music, top of the line methods that will be explained to your satisfaction.
I am really serious– this place is great!

I went to Dr. Powell’s office on 12÷14÷15 for my regular cleaning and topical fluoride application. As usual, Brian was efficient, friendly, and thorough. As close to a joy as going to visit the dentist office gets. Dr. Powell and his assistants are the best!

Dr. Powell and his staff are very caring and professional. Visiting the dentist is always a positive and pleasant experience! My family has been coming here for 15 years, give or take. I would never go anywhere else.

I had a 2hr procedure that under other circmstances could be considered uncomfortable. But Dr. Powell gave great numbing, administered slowly, and provided Bose headphones with a hand held controller. He explains everything and you never feel rushed. And when I was done, I was given a card, which I didnt open until I got home. How nice, it said I was the VIP of the day, and included a $ 10 card to Coldstones. NICE! I just love the level of comfort and friendliness at Dr. Powells.

Going to the Dentist can be a traumatic experience. There are many good dentists in the antelope Valley, and a few great ones. Dr Powell is one of the best! From pure skill and knowledge, to the very modern and most technologically advanced office around the valley, Dr Powell, as well as his entire staff, are above reproach. You will never regret choosing this team in meeting your dental care needs!

I am absolutely terrified of the dentist. I will literally have SEVERE anxiety before my appointment. I cry uncontrollably during my entire exam. I suffer SEVERE anxiety over my teeth — my biggest fear is losing them because both my mom and dad had dentures in their 30’s. Sadly, I have experienced horrible times with my HMO dentist at Elite Dentist in Lancaster. They will tell you that you need treatment that you do not need and they will rudely push treatments on you for the money. Having tooth pain for some months, my daughter found Dr. Powell through a friend. My daughter insisted that I go to him for a check-​up. Sadly, it turns out that Dr. Powell did not accept my HMO plan. Determined not to be treated by my HMO dentist, I paid cash for my x-​ray, teeth cleaning, and my deep cleaning with Dr. Powell. Every dime I spent was well worth it. Unfortunately I can’t do my open enrollment until October but the day I get that open date, I will be changing my dentist to Dr. Powell. Until then, I have to have an abases done by my dentist at Elite Dental. They had no idea that I saw Dr. Powell prior to having to be forced to see them again for the abscess. My HMO dentist told me that I need four Root Canals done and a Deep Cleaning. When they told me this, I told them that I paid cash for a Deep Cleaning two weeks prior with Dr. Powell and that I would not need another one. The Dentist, after trying to push on me that I needed another one became very upset with me when I told him I did not want it. He began to treat me badly and was very rude towards me and the receptionist treated me the same way. I left their dental office feeling so upset and angry. I immediately closed up again and just felt so much fear of having to go back to them for the surgery on the abscess that I cancelled my appointment I made with them. I was angry that after paying Dr. Powell for my deep cleaning only two weeks prior, that Elite Dentist would try to push another deep cleaning on me for the money. Dr. Powell and his staff are so incredibly kind. The dental office is immaculate, there is fresh coffee while you wait, the staff is INCREDIBLY caring, and if you suffer with anxiety about the dentist — suffer no more. The staff at the dentist office is SO incredibly kind and professional. With all the upcoming holidays approaching, I am MOST excited about the month of October for my Open Enrollment. If you have Delta Care through your employer and if you can upgrade to Delta Dental, I would highly recommend you do so. It will cost you a little more but the dental care you receive for paying a bit more is incredible. If I would have known this years ago, I never would have signed up through Delta Care and would have chosen Delta Dental. If you for some reason can’t upgrade, I highly recommend that if you have Delta Care that you go and get two or three different opinions regarding any care you are told that you need because you may not need the treatment at all. If you can upgrade during the upcoming enrollment, I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Powell for your dental care. I promise you — you will not be dissatisfied. When I walked into Dr. Powell’s office, I was so shaken up. By the time I left, all anxiety was gone and when I had to go back for my deep cleaning (My second appointment) I went willingly and did not have to be dragged by my daughter. I felt very little anxiety when I arrived. When I got in the chair, all anxiety was lifted. I am so grateful for Dr. Powell and his staff for their kindness towards me during my visits.

I have been going to Dr. Powell for about 7 years now following the retirement of Dr. Richards. I have been very satisfied by Dr. Powell’s expertise and his use of the most advance dental technology available. I had 45 year old mercury fillings and over a couple visits he replaced them all with porcelain. I eventually had all my old gold crowns replaced as well. Crowns are made right in his office using a highly technical computerized milling machine and you get the crown set the day you go in for your visit… No More Temporary’s…the office staff is great, their new Hygienist, April, is fantastic. I would recommend Dr. Powell to everybody!

Dr. Powell and his staff are consummate professionals, always good with detailed explanations to any question. They are also good with children — I have been taking my son there since he was 3 years old.

My family and I have been patients of Dr. Powell’s since he bought the practice from Dr. Weems (15 – 20 years ago). He is a wonderful dentist and his office staff is courteous, respectful, and efficient. His hygenists are extremely well-​trained and do a magnificent job. The office staff is always professional, kind, and compassionate. When funds have been tight, they have worked with me and did not make me feel inferior or humiliated. I cannot recommend Dr Powell’s office highly enough.

Everyone here is so kind! The comment a couple down about being overpriced and quick to charge… you may want to check with your insurance to see what they cover. The dental office has set prices for everything, so it might just be that your insurance isn’t as good as you thought it was. I always call before I have any work done and Toody will do her best to let me know how much of it I will need to pay out of pocket. Call ahead if you are that worried!
This office has the top notch technology, which makes the visit pain free and easy! I am so pleased with my dental hygienists, that they inspired me to go back to school to get my degree as well. I highly recommend Dr. Powell and his colleagues to anyone in the AV searching for a new dental office!

Dr. Powell is SO amazing! Everyone in the office and the hygienists are so kind and caring. They really listen and care about their patients. Melissa is both my and my husband’s hygienist and she is so sweet and personable, she makes it fun to have your teeth cleaned.
Dr. Powell’s very thorough care contained an extensive X-​ray with a full 3D skull scan that found my deviated septum. He suggested I seek a referral to an ENT from my primary care doctor. This led me to receive a septoplasty which has helped me sleep so much better, completely stopped my night clenching that had been a problem for about 5 years, and reduced my migraines.
I spent nearly $ 400 at a dentist in Arizona to create an occlusal guard to protect my teeth during my night clenching. No dentist nor doctor thought to scan my nose to reduce (or alleviate) the symptoms I had had for years.
Dr. Powell talked briefly about the route we could take for night clenching, but stated that I should first see an ENT. He could have provided me with extensive and expensive care immediately, however, he suggested I exhaust other corrective efforts, first, to rule out the other issues.
Dr. Powell is very patient-​centric and not concerned about making a dollar. He and his entire staff are concerned with your oral health and it is very evident.
Additionally, they keep all the files on the computer so you never have to fill out papers — everything is by computer — and even provide hot chocolate and water bottles in the waiting room. Also, the magazines are all current!
Dr. Powell and his staff are a top notch dental office and a great find in Palmdale. I feel so blessed to have found them.

These office is run by CROOKS! They will WRING YOU DRY! Their admin is very poor and borderline offensive. I’ve had multiple «late» Billing statements from this office claiming that the insurance didn’t cover enough for wrok done OVER A YEAR AGO. Not to mention, the admin is supposed to verfy insurance coverage before th ework is done so I have a accurate quote. SOMEHOW the numbers get mixed up and I will get a bill from them months later about how I owe more money. PLUS they even have a $ 1 billing charge for sending a billing statement out. ARE YOU JOKING?! I can’t begin to tell you how many times I’ve recieved that BS charge. EVERY SINGLE VISIT they manage to tack on an additional CHARGE. IT GOT OLD.
DO NOT GO HERE. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND SAVE YOURSELF A HEADACHE.
THEY ARE OVERPRICED, SNEAKY, HAVE MANY HIDDEN FEES AND NOT WORTH IT. Go elsewhere.
Also never once had they returned my call… even they claimed to have left me multiple messages after I confronted them. Funny. I never had an issue with anyone else’s messages, not to mention I’ve had the same phone number for years.
QUICK TO CHARGE AND OVER CHARGE.
An office that appreciates your business and steers clear from snobby and rude admin is important to me. A professional staff that implements a fairness for running their business and appreciating the client is a priority. It became clear to me that this office does not practice that.

Top notch. The service here is amazing. I love my hygienist — she is so personable and friendly and very thorough and takes her time. I feel like a person that matters, not a contribution towards an upcoming family vacation for the dentist. I have had three visits — two cleanings and one consulation/​complete new patient work up. Ever single time has been delightful. The office is ‘paperless’, so you check in on a computer. All your files and updates are on a computer. Your next appointment is booked in the room where you had your cleaning and all your information is in one place. I can’t explain how convenient this is as a patient, I can only imagine how much the staff must love it. The equipment is all new, top of the line, über modern — how many people can say they’ve seen a full 3-​D scan of their skull? Yeah, when I said thorough — this staff is THOROUGH. Dental work goes beyond just the roots of the teeth… they look at your jaw, neck, etc. I feel very well taken care of here. And who can beat a nice hot cup of cocoa with chilled Reddi-​Whip upon arrival? Might as well give ‘em SOMETHING to clean, right? (kidding — I just take the free bottles of water… but the hot cocoa IS a nice touch)
