I honestly don’t know what I would have done without Carlos and Shirley. I found my boxer, Hope, on the street at 6 months old. By the time she was a year, I knew I needed help. My friend had 3 rescue pit-​bulls and they were the most perfectly trained dogs I had ever seen.
He referred me to Carlos and it saved my life.
Boxers are notoriously «untrainable» in fact, some trainers won’t even attempt to train them. Hope took a little bit longer than most dogs, but he didn’t give up and now she’s like a little private Benjamin. Whenever I take her for walks, people comment on what a well-​behaved dog she is. My roommate bought a dog, a Malinois (another breed with an insanely strong personality and work drive) she couldn’t take care of her and long story short, now she’s mine as well. She’s also trained by Carlos and there is no way I would be able to handle this one without his guidance.
I did both the on and off leash training. They pick up and drop off. They are constantly available for consultation when I’m having an issue and the in-​house lessons that come with each training to keep the dogs on track (and keep ME on track) are absolutely necessary!!!
I’ve referred 4 other dogs to them and everyone has been so happy with the results, they’ve referred him to other people.
I can’t say enough good about them. The ranch is my dog’s second home. I feel completely relaxed knowing I can go out of town and that my dogs are boarded at a place they are comfortable and where they can run and play outside all day.
Don’t wait. Just do it. It’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

THEY ARE THE REAL DEAL!!!

This is the worst «training» experience my dog has ever had. I sought out Carlos’ training facility to help with my head strong GSD, unfortunately, the entire experience was a nightmare that ended with my dog needing immediate medical attention from our veterinarian who reported Carlos to the SPCA for neglect.
After being boarded at this training facility for about four weeks (twice as long as I was initially told it would take), my dog came back for what was supposed to be a rest period before continuing his training. He never went back. My dog was returned to me SEVERELY underweight (I could feel all of his ribs and the bones in his hind legs were clearly visible even through his fur – he went from 85lbs to 65lbs), dehydrated, and had contracted infections in both of his eyes. Additionally, there were cuts and scrapes all over his body that Carlos was completely unaware of and had not bothered to treat. It took my dog a full three months to recuperate from his stay at this boarding facility and required numerous trips to the vet, a special diet, and antibiotics. Carlos took absolutely NO RESPONSIBILITY for my dog’s deplorable and sickly condition. He was unconcerned, refused to take my phone calls, and got into yelling matches with me when I was finally able to get a hold of him. He is unprofessional, unreliable, and untrustworthy. Do not take your dog here unless you are prepared to have them come back emaciated and sickly.
In addition to the mistreatment of my dog, Carlos refused to refund my money for the training I had paid for in advance. He is a crook and a thief and deserves to be shut down.

I only sent my dog for the first half of his training. After multiple late pick ups, failures to return phone calls and emails, and the inability to schedule weekly visits, I would not recommend this place to anyone. My dog came back 20 lb. underweight, severely dehydrated, lethargic and had multiple infections. When I tried to discuss my concerns with Carlos, he was extremely rude and dismissive. I thought about suing them also for the prepaid portion of the second part of the training. I hope that enough concerned pet owners with similar bad experiences will post their reviews.

I recently dropped my full grown dog Morgan off for some much needed Aggression Training. After weeks of training and lessons. My dog has returned to me well mannered, manageable and behaved. Thee Boarding Ranch has saved my dogs life and I can’t thank them enough for all the work they put into working with Morgan. The ranch provided everything my dog needed. Care, supervision and proper kenneling so when he returned to me he was in better shape then when he left. I could not be happier with the results that Carlos and his staff accomplished with my Dog. I highly recommend The Boarding Ranch to anyone I know. The Ranch eagerly dropped my dog off to me with at home training and a walk through of all the commands my pup has been taught. Best decision I have made so far and I now look forward to amazing days with a well behaved dog.

Shirley-​whatever your policies state do not override the DOG’s life and well-​being. Janie had an open would whereby you could see her organs. Whilst I may be responsible for her «minor» injury-​your statement is ridiculous and OFFENSIVE. You and Carlos kept my dog for 4 days and nights without even INFORMING me she had a serious injury-that’s called negligence and lying. In fact, I was told she had a small injury and since Carlos was a vet tech, she’d be better off staying at the ranch. She had A HUGE HOLE IN HER BELLY and I’m happy to provide pictures and the vet’s report. I never even received a phone call, she was slyly dropped off by opening our door and she laid in the entrance. NO ONE EVEN INFORMED US WHEN SHE WAS DROPPED off. This is beyond negligence, it is ABUSE. Janie died and I changed my mind, you should be shut down and in jail forget paying my vet bills. Anyone who uses your «services’ does so at their own risk. I hope you never have the opportunity to care for another animal again.

Unfortunately, this «business» deserves less than a one star rating. After allowing my 2 dogs to be picked up for daycare twice weekly — all we ever endured was 1. late pickups (hours late, not minutes) 2. late drop-​offs (sometimes as late as 11pm) 3. cancellation of daycare at the time the dogs were to be picked up (so no time to make other arrangements) and repeated injuries. Albeit, at first only minor ones (cuts, scrapes) —ultimately my older dog was bitten with a hole in her abdomen the size of 2 half dollars. The owner told me she was injured, nothing major and he wanted to keep her overnight. That turned into 4 nights, we allowed this as he claimed he was a trained vet tech. When we finally insisted he bring her home, his employee, opened our door, said nothing to us though we were home, let the dog in and when she was laying down, we noticed she was licking a wound. It turned out to be infected and we immediately had to take her to the vet. The bills were just under $ 1000, she has not been the same since. The owner was notified, he blamed his employee, never paid for the vet bills and never apologized. I’ve since had to change the locks on our doors and considered suing, but realized, he probably would never pay even if the judgement went our way and I was just sick of the whole incident. However, I now feel a responsibility to let consumers know about how irresponsible and dangerous this facility and this owner is. And, now the vet says my dog has maybe one month left to live. This facility should be shut down.
DO NOT EVER USE THIS SERVICE FOR BOARDING, TRAINING, DAYCARE OR ANYTHING.

We took our dog here in 2006. He was supposed to get trained & socialized with other dogs. He was very shy, timid & was a rescue case.
Needless to say, the small amount of progress we made before bringing him here was lost. He had multiple bites from other dogs, had lost about 10 lbs. We did not let him finish the 2^nd half of the training, brought him home, & they did not reimburse us for the 2^nd half.
Do not take your pets here, they will be abused.
