The Plaza Resort and Spa

this one is a little older and title of «resort» is a euphemism! staff is good but light… comfortable but some wear and tear… pool opens at 8 AM this place is great for seniors and people with dogs cause there is not much else here… what is the difference between a resort and a hotel? I have stayed in Hotels with more amenities than this «RESORT»

My partner and I wanted to spend the Memorial Day weekend in Palm Springs. I knew a good, AFFORDABLE hotel was going to be tough to find, particularly on such a busy weekend. I relied on my fellow Unilocalers to help me. Unilocal came thru for me again. We were very happy with our stay at the Plaza; it felt good to be in a nice hotel that many others recommended. To our surprise, our room came with a small kitchenette – stove & refrigerator. That allowed to save some money. We recommend this hotel – just as it was recommended to us. We shall return to The Plaza.

The staff was friendly. The room was comfortable. A couple unfortunate incidents. They locked is in the gym for over an hour, they refused to clean our room, and they warned us not to swim if we were currently suffering from diarrhea. All are true.
Really wanted to like the place, but too many odd incidents to give a good rating.

I picked this hotel out of sheer proximity to where a few friends were getting married last weekend and rolled into town late Thursday night. It was the closest and actually the cheapest option at $ 92.00 per night while the ACE was ringing in at… uhhh, much more. Truth be told, I expected a dump but was presently surprised by an outdated but well-​kept place to crash for a few drunken nights.
I didn’t see a single person the entire time I was staying at the hotel and our room overlooked the golf course, which we played (terribly) on Friday. There were two pools and even a grill for those wanting to stay on property rather than hitting the local restaurants. The room is actually equipped really well for a long-​term stay and had a complete set of nice knives, a full sized fridge, a microwave and a stovetop. The sofa pulls out to a bed and the shower pressure was just right — weird, I know, but a total deal breaker for me and hotels.
Check out the sweet TV in the lobby… can’t miss it. Literally.

I stayed here for just a night with family whom have a timeshare here.
The place was quite, clean, with all the amenities you’d need. Nothing fancy, but not run down by any means. The pool was salt water which I can appreciate. I hate chlorine and what it does to my skin and hair, and the water was not cold at all.
I would recommend this place to anyone on a budget that wants a nice place to stay without the frills. Kind of like a Radisson in my opinion, but not the W or a Ritz Carlton. The views of the golf course were also enjoyable in the morning while sipping my coffee on the balcony.
Note: It is closer to Cathedral City, and 5 miles away from downtown Palm Springs strip, but you can easily drive there or hop on a bus and be there in no time.

Dump. Don’t go. Way overpriced. Rude staff. Room smelled like mold.

I must say we had a wonderful time, the staff is very friendly and the rooms were well kept.
there are things they could fix like the pool/​spa and how often they clean rooms but none of that changed how we felt about this place.
We are definitley coming back
they are located near the best shopping spots/​restaruants and even Boomers.
i really enjoyed staying here and i recommend it to families and older couples.

Stayed here for stagecoach with a 4 other friends. Plenty of room, awesome balcony, and just overall great palce. We stayed for super cheap, and will try to come back to the same spot next year!

I have been coming here for over 20 years — since it first opened. Maybe 3 – 4 times a year. The place needs updating every once in a while as does every motel/​hotel.
The rooms have everything you need for a pleasant stay. Other reviews spell that out.
What I find is the location is excellent The staff is super attentive. The pools & jacuzzi are always very clean. Sure — desert winds can blow some debris in on occasion but it is always cleaned as soon as they are notified. They have BBQ grills. The Tahquitz Creek golf course is right outside & you get a discount. Pet friendly. Plenty of parking.
Kind of centrally located inbetween downtown Palm Springs & La Quinta. Plenty of excellent restaurants & shopping in every direction. You can pay more elsewhere … & I have … but this place is a bargain … if you do not expect the St Regis/​Hilton experience. Yes — I love this place for the value I get for my money.

I LOVE THE PLAZA! It’s a great weekend getaway for a place to relax. and the best part of it all EXTRMELY DOG FRIENDLY! The rooms are clean and comes with a mini kitchenette: fridge, stovetop, microwave, toaster oven, glasses/​plates. etc. They also have 2 pools with misters, BBQS and its right on the golf course. You can walk to trader joes, target, starbucks in about 10 min. The 1 bedroom is really nice and the studio is just as good– A LOT smaller. You can take the bus to the downtown area of palm springs– it runs until about 9pm I think. Vons is a short distance away as well– you can walk it just takes a bit longer. they have a DVD collection in the lobby where you can rent a movie and they also have coffee and donuts in the morning. I frequent here every few months and have never had a bad experience.

This is a charming little resort. It has two pools, a basketball & tennis court. It”s a close driving distance to down town Palm Springs. They have on-​call massage therapists you can book with if you like. The staff is super friendly and the rooms are newly renovated. Need I say more?

Just checked out of the Plaza and had a decent stay. The rooms are dated, but the staff is excellent! This hotel is extremely dog friendly which is why we booked. Being on a golf course with lots of grass comes in handy when your traveling with pooches. You can also take them for a walk on Golf Club Drive which is nice.
If your not looking for bells and whistles, but a clean friendly place with decent amenities, The Plaza is up your alley :)

Staff is wonderful but this place could use a face lift.
Also, our toilet broke twice. First when we got there, there wasn’t a handle on our toilet and then the 2^nd day, it flooded. Wah =(

This property was very clean, QUIET with a very responsive and helpful staff. Big thank you to Sue, Randall, and Victoria. The maintenance team was terrific and fixed things right away in the gym. Loved the dry sauna, TV in the rooms, access to free movies and the Saturday welcome meeting! They were also super helpful giving us information on where to eat and events to do.
I would come back here again. The pool and whirlpools were also super clean.
On Halloween they gave each room a wonderfully decorated purple bag of candy. What a nice extra. Such attention to detail.

I’ll go back. The rooms were nice and clean (with a full fridge, microwave and sink), the pool is great, and the people were really nice. It’s a little dated in its décor, but all in all, a nice place to stay.

I liked this place!
We stayed here for 4 nights and it was really nice. The service (especially Victoria who is extremely welcoming and friendly) is excellent. They have a good selection of DVD’s to check out for free. They have two pools, two jacuzzi’s, a workout room, dry saunas, a tennis court, and a basketball hoop.
It comes with a kitchen (no dishwasher or oven though). The kitchen is a bit small, but it was good enough for our purposes.
Overall I liked the place, nothing flashy or fancy but comfy and nice.

The staff is the key to success!
The Plaza is an older property and doesn’t have all the amenities found in new timeshare properties. What it lacks in newness, it makes up for in service. The staff are fantastic. If you have an issue, share it with a staff member and it will be resolved to your satisfaction.
The location is good for those not wanting to be in the downtown area. The property is ajacent to Taquitz Creek golf course and has many amenities close by.
The rooms are in the process of being updated; new sofas, beds, TVs, etc. The quaintness of the property attracts an older crowd, which suits me fine. I like peace and quiet in the evening :)
The advantage of timeshare properties is the chance to have BBQs, and full kitchens at your disposal. Nothing beats stopping by Bristol Farms and picking up grilling items and enjoying them at your own oasis in the desert.
