Smart & Final Extra! is the warehouse grocery store where households, businesses and community groups find great savings on groceries, supplies, produce, fresh meat, frozen foods, dairy and deli.
I love this store! Ample parking makes it easy to shop. Every time I visit this store everyone is professional and helpful. The store is always clean and well stocked. Even their produce section is great. Couldn’t ask for better.

I’ve only shopped at this Smart & Final a few times, and today was the first time I purchased items from the bulk section. Usually I buy beans and lentils in prepackaged bags. Since they don’t cvarry lentils in bags, I went to the bulk section, located a bag, scooped the lentils into it, found the twist tie and proceeded to the check-out with my other items. The cashier(Micah) was having problems scanning a gift card and the register froze. He called the manager to un-freeze the register. Then, the next customer had two bottle with discount coupons on the necks. They failed to allow the redemption or the discount. The customer suggested he call the manager again. Instead, he manually input a code and the discount was given. We were next. Micah asked us what the code was on the bag of lentils. I told him that I didn’t know. He said, if you don’t tell me the code, I won’t be able to ring us the purchase. I told him that I didn’t know where to get the code and he said, «Instructions are all over the store!» REALLY? All over the store? I was looking for product, not instructions. So, I’ve learned not to purchase from the bulk section again, and also not to get in Micah’s line. He was sharp and rude. A little courtesy would have been appreciated.

Open regular hours 6 to 10. Clean facilities. Plenty of parking. Easy in n out. Lines never more than 3 to 4 deep. Fruit n veggies re fresh. They added a bulk foods section which is really great. Selection for thise are not as extensive as Winco but definitely a nice addition not found at other Smart n Finals fyi

Excellent Smart and Final as all stores have inventory but this store has Valerie! In over 3 years of being a customer, Valerie has always been friendly, professional, efficient and has great connections with customers! She sets an example in actions for others to follow! I’m not related or connected to her or any employee at this store! Clean baths, good parking, and it was walkable! I’ll make a point to shop here in area! God bless this fine store All employees have been good over the years!

Seriously K.K. You should just make your name KKK. You are a racist. Your Mexican comment would make trump proud. Try to live a day in your privileged world without Mexicans, regardless if they feel like telling you their real name. This S& F is clean, well stocked, has a well rounded merchandise stock and the people are friendly, not matter what race they are. The stock in their bins was great, the produce was fresh and I will definitely go back.

I’m not a Costco fan, even though I have a membership. I don’t like the crowds and the enormous sizes. Smart & Final gives me a viable alternative. They carry many of the grocery type items that I’m looking for. I’ve been able to get some pretty good deals on ripe bananas. I find myself buying prepared salads here every week. I like the types of cold cuts they carry. Produce is fresh and pretty, but a little more expensive than a typical grocery store. That makes sense to me, so I don’t pick up too many vegetables here. What I tend to grab are cold cuts, cheese, bananas, chips, water, eggs, and those bistro salads. The store is immaculate and never have I ever had to wait at checkout.(Mind you, I go on a Sunday evening, so it isn’t prime shopping time.)

When you want Costco prices, but just can’t be bothered to drive all the way to Palm Desert from Palm Springs, this is the place to go. It’s best to try for non-prime times, such as mid-mornings, when the lines tend to be shorter. Some items in bulk, some not, so it’s good for normal shopping, not just Brady Bunch families. Just don’t be in a hurry or you will get high blood pressure waiting in line at times. A self serve checkout for 10 items or fewer would be a nice addition to this store, following the lead of Sam’s Club.

Samantha and another lady working there are both on the ball, good. Although I didn’t give all stars due to today. Samantha was in middle of ringing me up and this other cashier, male(latino, late 20s-30s, 5’9, 165 pounds) and he gave his name but after working at a car wash and evaluating the behaviors of males in this group I’ve learned not to believe the names they provide. This cashier yelled over and interrupted Samantha from ringing me up – she was in middle of my transaction so I told him. Mild argument happened, he finally apologized – which gets credit for doing that. I went on my way. Then a buddy of his, most likely – again this is their mindset, it is a gang like mind set – involve all your buddies because cannot handle on own accord — anyways some guy on my drive home pulled out and tried to intimidate me with his Jeep, a Jeep I see at this store location. Coincidence, maybe. Good job Samantha!

Smaft and Final is a grocery chain whose stores are smaller than most supermarkets. Its main competitor seems to be Trader Joe’s. Smart and Final offers a great selection of almost all grocery store items. They carry canned goods and fresh meat, fruits and vegetables. They carry a good variety of cheese and wine, and an excellent variety of party supplies(plates, plastic glasses, plastic knives and forks, etc.). The store offers many great prices, but only if the shopper is informed. Many smaller restaurant buyers shop here, because their prices are often the very, very best, but buyers should know the current prices of local competitors. On the other hand, uninformed shoppers may be ripped off. For example, Smart and Final does not carry USDA Prime Great Meat, so lesser-informed buyers may see the«premium» label and assume that the meet is a high-quality. On the contrary, its beef is often USDA Select Grade(which is the lowest consumer grade) or even ungraded(called«no roll»). Lesser-informed buyers may assume that the low price represents«premium» quality — but it does not. In general, Smart and Final prices range between Costco prices and prices at the major supermarket chains(Ralphs, Vons, Albertson’s.

Of all the Smart and Finals that I’ve been to this is by far my favorite store. This location is much larger than most of their stores and has a great selection of inventory. They have great prices on almost everything especially in the liquor department. This location has the same downfall as all other Smart and Final stores. The customer service is very limited but if you do ask for help they will assist you. For some reason this company does not like to hire extra cashiers. With 6 customers in line with full baskets and only one cashier it’s very frustrating. The cashier finally asked for help and within two minutes another one appeared. Very slow checkout!

For years I drove past a building called«Smart & Final Iris.» What kind of marketing moron dreamed up that name? It’s almost as bad as «Winn Dixie» in Florida. At least they made a movie out of that one. But my previous employer wanted me to pick up their cleaning and paper products from the Smart & Final store in Cathedral City; that was before they moved to east Palm Springs. The new store is much bigger, brighter and cleaner. The aisles are also wider. This place is geared to industrial and commercial customers that have a use for a 5-pound jar of mustard or a gallon of salsa. But, they do have some items in smaller quantities, and I just bought a 10-pound bag of potatoes for 97 cents, and some sour cream for $ 1.49. Not too shabby. And it is no longer necessary to use their SmartAdvantage card to get sale prices. This is an interesting alternative to the usual Albertsons/Ralphs/Stater Bros./Vons routine. Check it out. You might like it, at least for some things.
