We are a comprehensive healing center that offers a variety of alternative and complementary therapies.

History

Established in 2009.

The Palm Springs Healing Center is the the vision of Michael Boyer, L.Ac., an acupuncturist and Dr. Robert Edelburg, a Chiropractor.

«Our businesses were next door to each other and we found that we were walking patients back and forth who needed care from the other doctor. It seemed natural to open an office where we could combine our efforts to heal as many people as possible. So we found a huge, fantastic, beautiful healing center and and we merged Palm Springs Acupuncture Center and Edelburg Chiropractic. Since then we have added massage therapists a psychotherapist, a Medical Doctor and several other practitioners.»

Business Owner

Michael Boyer L.Ac. has spent over 20 years honing his skills in the healing arts. An early passion for yoga and shiatsu massage served as a springboard into the field of Chinese Medicine and, in 1995, Michael graduated from Oakland’s Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences with a Master of Science Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

The past fifteen years has found Michael treating thousands of patients from every walk of life and for a vast array of conditions.

Michael Boyer, L.Ac. is board certified and licensed by the state of California in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. He is also certified by The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).

Unprofessional, Uncaring and No Compassion.
I waited for three days for an appointment here, suffering through terrible back pain over the weekend (their answering service was very uncompassionate and unhelpful). Then I got a call this morning and set up an appointment for this afternoon, which I was really looking forward to. When I showed up, the guy behind the desk was supper snotty. He asked for my name again and said he didn’t get it before because he was distracted on our call earlier. So I told him, and then he asked if I was a new patient. I said yes, to which he replied «Well then I should tell you, we don’t take any insurance, and it’s $ 140.» I said that would have been good to know before showing up (which was tough considering I can barely walk). He said (very defensively) «Well you didn’t state that you were a new patient when you called.» Wait, what? Seriously? If I had known ahead of time, I could have called my insurance company to find out if I could get reimbursed. I understand their policy, but his uncaring and unprofessional response made me decide to get up and walk out. There are other Chiropractors in the valley — I suggest calling them instead of this place. Save yourself the trouble. (also note, it says on Unilocal and other places online that they do accept insurance — very upsetting).

I was eager to find a great chiropractor after having just survived a particularly brutal move to Palm Springs. I could tell from the comments made by other patients online that «Buzz» Edelburg was competent and had a friendly bedside manner. Not only was nearly every bone in my spine subluxated from heavy lifting, I have the added complication of severe bilateral osteoarthritis in each hip. Dr. Edelburg is very warm, friendly, welcoming and thorough. Just walking (limping) towards him, he was able to diagnose several of my problems. He fixed both of my wrists within about fifteen seconds of meeting him. By the time I left my appointment, I felt euphoric. Not only were my spinal issues corrected, as much as is possible given my condition, but my mind was calm and peaceful. I love the office atmosphere and the absolutely wonderful man who checked me out as I left. (I’m sorry, I did not get his name.) I am so relieved to have found such an incredible healer and his terrific staff. Being alone is this new town, I can hardly express my gratitude strongly enough at finding someone to help me, literally, to get back on my feet. Thank you to everyone at Palm Springs Healing Center for taking such good care of me. Now, I can really enjoy my new home.

I’ve been here for 3 visits and have had a great experience. The staff is friendly and helpful. Dr Boyer is fantastic! He pays attention to detail, focuses on specifics and really takes his time to make sure you are comfortable and getting the treatment you need. Both him and Buzz Edelburg (one of the chiropractors) have come very highly recommended by at least 5+ people that I know personally. They are definitely doing something right here!

While on vacation my neck went out so I read through Palm Springs chiropractor reviews coming across Dr. Edelburg. His office scheduled me the same day and in under 30 minutes he treated me with a great adjustment for my neck and lower back. I was back to Pilates class the next morning and hiking in Joshua Tree the day after. Thanks so much!!!

Michael Boyer is an amazing healer. He has saved me from depression, pain, and anxiety, among many other things. My husband is Japanese and grew up with acupuncture, and he says that Michael is the best acupuncturist he has ever worked with, hands down. Elemir Jakocs, LMT is a wonderful massage therapist. My husband and I also agree that he is the best we have ever had. This is a place where people genuinely care about the overall health and well-​being of their patients.

I found Dr Boyer to be extremely rude, inconsiderate and unprofessional. After providing a lengthy medical history in which he ignored, he stuck a few needles in and left the room for 45 minutes. Since my history included spasms, it was fortunate that I did not suffer one while under treatment and have further complications with needles in place. After returning home, I assessed my experience and came to the conclusion that I never would return to this office and provider. I called to report my cancellation of further sessions and the office manager said they could not refund any monies but I could give the sessions to friends. As a matter of law, a business cannot charge for services not rendered so we called our credit card company and filed a fraud charge. Beware of poor business practices.

I love Palm Springs healing center its a wonderful healing oasis in the desert. Dr. Edelberg and Dr. Boyer are amazing and super talented. PSHC has been a key factor in my healing process and staying healthy with regular tune-​ups. Great atmosphere in the office, Art on reception is always very welcoming and all of their massage therapists I have gone to have been amazing as well. Can’t say enough about how wonderful this place is. Highly Highly Recommend.

If you are looking for a GREAT chiropractor I recommend Dr. Edleburg. With his genuine concern for his patients and his superb professionalism he is the best chiro I have ever seen. He has only been accommodating and kind to me and he Always gets the job done. He is honest and knowledgeable and has made me comfortable with chiropractors, as I have had subpar experiences in the past. He has a great attitude and demeanor, and his no nonsense practices ensure he gets to the point. He offers a highly effective service and I have never been more impressed with a chiro and I Always feel better after seeing him.

Unfortunately, they don’t accept insurance. The first chiropractic visit with consultation is $ 130 and every visit after is $ 70. You can try to submit the bill to your insurance after the fact.

I found Elemir after searching for a shiatsu therapist in the PS area and I am so pleased I did! He is professional, friendly and has a nice healing energy about him. When he puts his hands on you you feel nurtured almost. He can modify the traditional shiatsu massage for the table, or for the floor if you let him know in advance. The setting of the center was clean and peaceful. It was easy to find and the front desk staff was friendly and helpful and even gave me a new client ½ off card for my next 1 hour massage.

If there was a 6 star option, I would give it to Palm Springs Healing Center! From the moment you arrive, the energy is calm and welcoming — from the atmosphere to the office staff. Art at the desk is about the nicest guy you could ever meet and just the kind of person you want on the front lines. He really listened and helped me with newbie questions about acupuncture. As for my acupuncturist Michael Boyer, he is a true professional. Every treatment is tailored specifically for how I’m feeling that week and he really listened and truly cares about his patients wellness. He backs it up with knowledge and compassion. I went to other clinics but no one made me feel comfortable beginning treatment until I discovered PSHC. I had a painful endometrial mass which doctors told me could be cancer, and Michael relieved not only the pain but much of my pre-​op anxiety within a few sessions. I’m fine now but I continue my regimen for overall good health and well-​being. I can always get an appointment and I never have to wait. They also have a full range of herbal medicines, chiropractic, massage, and health advocacy that is truly patient oriented. Simply put, I’m a fan.

My son and I booked massages while in Palm Springs. We found PSHC after calling several places trying to book same day appointments. Not only did they get us scheduled within a couple of hours, we were both very satisfied with our respective experiences. Elemir gave me the best deep tissue massage I’ve ever had, while Leo took great care of my son including some advice on exercises for him to do later. Everyone in the office was friendly and helpful. We will definitely plan ahead next time and go back for a repeat visit.

Went with a friend who needed an adjustment and I asked Dr. Edelburg to check out my spine too. I’ve been to Chiropractors before when I was in pain, but never when I was feeling OK… or thought I was OK… :-) He adjusted me and I discovered I suddenly had several extra degrees of motion in my neck and overall felt a lot less tension in my back. The Center has a great environment and is not pushy at all, which I’ve experienced elsewhere. I live in Seattle, but will definitely go back next time I’m in town.

I have been going to Palm Springs Healing Center since they opened. They were still installing the lights and the sound system. But last week was my first visit with Dr. Boyer. It has been a long time since my last acupuncture treatment, like 5 years. No reason in particular why but there you go.
Anyway, a friend encouraged me to try acupuncture. GREAT TIP! My first visit was about 90 minutes or more including the treatment and herb consultation.
Besides the great nap I had while the acupuncture needles were working their magic, I woke up feeling relief from the pain I had experienced. The herb treatment has also been beneficial for me. I realize acupuncture is thousands of years old and helps millions of people, but it is better when the help is for «me». :)
Dr. Boyer and Dr. Edelberg are a great team at PSHC! If you need acupuncture or chiropractic you can trust them to do you right.

I found PSHC on the internet when looking for a chiropractor. I’m new to town and just starting my search for holistic practitioners. If you are like me and only go to traditional doctors for broken bones, this is the place to be.
The chiropractor, Dr. Edelburg, (or as everyone calls him «Buzz») is a fabulous chiropractor and a joyful soul… always smiling and funny. The wonderful Dr. Boyer, licensed acupuncturist and oriental medicine doctor, healed my recurring UTI, along with Claire Kruppe, MD, who offered alternative care such as herbal supplements and vitamins. Dr. Boyer and Dr. Kruppe are just a dear and kind as anyone you will ever meet… and what a joy to have all of these people under one roof.
When you call you will get Ed, who is the center of the Center. He will set you up with whomever you need.
There are fabulous massage therapists too! and a wonderful Somatic Therapist who is as kind and as impressive as everyone else.
Everything you will ever need is here. These folks are a dream come true when it comes to alternative/​complementary healing and they are the dearest, kindest and sincerest folks I have met in a very long time.
