History

Established in 1982.

Thurman’s father (TA, Jr.) came to Palm Springs as a lawyer in 1954. Thurman III took his father’s law practice over in 1982.

In addition, Thurman III operates Desert Family Mediation Services (DFMS), which was launched in 2009 in collaboration with Comm. Gretchen W. Taylor, Judge Retired. DFMS specializes in mediating amicable and high-​conflict divorces.

A native of Palm Springs, Attorney Thurman W. Arnold III has been providing family law services to the residents of his home city for 34 years. He began his post-​secondary education at Reed College of Portland, OR, back in 1974, earning a Certificate of Excellence for his achievements there. He went on to attend UC Santa Barbara, where he earned his B.A. with honors. After receiving his J.D. from Lewis and Clark School, while serving as a member of its nationally recognized Environmental Law Review, he was admitted to the California bar in 1982.
