Our very own Sandy Hardin has been chosen for the Bureau of Security & Investigative Services to help the state make sure all locksmiths are certified.

Our fully stocked retail store in the heart of Palm Desert carries a complete line of home safes and commercial vaults. Fire rated document safes, gun safes and vaults of all sizes. History

Established in 1976.

The Lock Shop, Inc. was started by Lyn and Ella Manor in1976, and later purchased by their daughter and son-​in-​law, MIke and Sandy Hardin. It is an established reliable business that takes integrity seriously. As required, The Lock Shop, Inc. has a California State Contractor’s license, plus each locksmith has a locksmtih license with the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS).

I Came to the desert in the early 50’s, with my family because my father was in the golf business. I am married to Sandy Hardin, and we have a son John Hardin. We purchased The Lock Shop, Inc. from Sandy’s parents, Lyn and Ella Manor, where she’s been employed since 1982. Our business has grown and we have seen quite a few changes in the security field. Not only are we busy with this business. but we are very involved with The City of Palm Desert, past Board Chairman of the Palm Desert Chamber of Commerce and for the past five years Chairman of the Palm Desert Golf Cart Parade. Sandy is an Ambassador with the Indio Chamber of Commerce, and are members of both ALOA (American Locksmiths of America) and CAI (Community Association Inst.).

this place has excellent customer service-​they work very hard to make sure the customer is happy –they are top notch. i had several keys –and unique items and they can do anything – the guy with the ponytail – not sure if he is the owner – but he is awesome. he is funny and charming – but super smart and will make sure you are happy – only place to go here in the desert — great to see the level of service.

Absolutely Great Service ! Keys made while you wait. I’ve been here many times, just never had the time to write a review. Stopped there today, to get keys made for our New entrance door.
I needed something personal also.
coming from Detroit, Michigan, to Palm Springs, I had some VERY EXPENSIVE JEWERLY, «STOLEN» from TSA.
YES I KNOW IT WAS TSA !!! But there is NO WAY TO PROVE IT !
So with Steve’s help I just bought a small chain and two locks with keys. This way I can lock up my medications and what I have left of my jewelry. Attach it to my purse. I’ll open it if they want me too. But I will be standing right there.

This morning I stupidly grabbed the wrong keys to run out to the mail box and locked myself out of my office. I was able to use a neighbors phone and call Sandy at the lock shop. She had a tech here in minutes and I was back at work within 30 minutes!!! They are the best!!!

Good ol’ boys that can do just about anything you need. Reasonable walk in prices and rock and roll on the radio. They’ll come to you too with a truck full of options for ya. Make them your first call.

Called to discuss options for repair and person on the phone was very helpful and set up appointment for service. Service rep showed up within time schedule giving but was not the most pleasant to deal with. Kind of had the feeling he didn’t want to be here and my questions seem to be a bother for him to answer. I decided I would just ignore his attitude and go back into house to have him finish the job and move on. After about half an hour I went out to see how far along he was on the job and offer a bottle of water which he accepted. He asked if he could use my restroom and said he could and showed him to the closest bathroom. To my amazement he seemed to be in there for every and when he finally came out, this horrible smell started traveling throughout the house. I think my dogs were even disgusted! Not the kind of experience I was expecting for a lock change!

If it has a lock, they can fix it.
We’ve been using them for years to change out locks, replace lost keys, add locks and new knobs. Broken key in a lock? Yeah, they fixed that too. Customer service is fantastic and service is always on time. They cover the entire Coachella Valley and will come to you for residential lockouts, emergency repairs and new security installation.
They also sell safes. They’ve got you covered.

I have used this shop over and over in my business. Just called them out again on Monday 4÷13÷14 to change locks on one of the buildings we manage. As usual very prompt service. The locksmith came fully prepared with all the tools and materials needed to complete the job. Technician was geat! Had a sense of humor and very quick to get the job done!
Have talked with girls in office as well. Very efficient and always remember me.
