We were in the area on vacation and Maribel was great! The owner talked to my kids and I and you could tell that this was a well know shop with a long history! Thank you!

This is what a barber shop is supposed to strive to be! Not only do they do their craft perfectly, but they make you feel like family while doing it! When I sat down I asked if they took credit, and Joe let me know that they are cash only. So I was ready to get up and find an ATM, but he let me know that I could take care of all that after we were done! He said it’s not about the money, that it’s about a good experience! Full on trust! He didn’t ask me to leave my ID or do anything to assure I’d really come back after he took care of me. I was stunned, and of course did not stiff them. I had a haircut and a shave, it was not rushed and done very well! I feel like a million bucks! I highly recommend this place and I will be making them part of my personal routine.

I’m not one to really leave reviews but I was impressed and wanted to give these guys a shout out. I’m from out of town and looked on here for a good barber. This barbershop came up with good reviews so I went. Juan hooked me up, took his time, and was very professional. I’m very satisfied with my choice. Thanks guys!

We love Patio barbershop!!! Everyone there is amazing. My 2 year old son and husband won’t go anywhere else. Try one of the shaves it looks like a professional facial. I get jealous just watching. But seriously for a 2 year old to sit still for 15 min is a miracle and he does it for them every time.

As recent transplants to the desert we have found our new neighborhood barbershop !! Juan, his sister and I’m sorry I didn’t get her name, and Anthony cut my sons’ and my hair and they all did a great job ! It’s our new spot.

I live here in the desert, and have had my hair cut by the same lady for the last 20 years. Unfortunately, she left the area last fall, and I’ve had nothing but awful cuts from salons that came recommended. The last«light trim» took 8 weeks to grow back in. So I tried the Patio Barber Shop today and got a cut from Yesenia that is exactly what I asked for. If I could give her more stars, I certainly would. I couldn’t be more pleased!

Just returned from an exceptional experience at Patio. Juan cut my hair. careful, consciously, artfully. I always enjoy a razor cut because most barbers do not know how to nor care about a razor cut. but those who do, do so because thy love their work and are perfectionists in doing things correctly. I strongly recommend Patio.

OK place to get an old school haircut. Nothing fancy inside – 4 barbers in a shop that has been there for 60+ years. Place is clean, but barber tools are antiques. Beard trim – would not go back. It’s nothing more than I can do by myself. Think I got taken for ~$ 15 for a few swipes of the clippers and 15 minutes of my time. They only take cash. The register is as old as the place.

I live in Palm Desert 6 months a year and was looking for a good place to get my hair cut, this is IT! When I got home my wife said«that’s the best hair cut you have every got». Joe the owner is talented and friendly. $ 18 + $ 4 tip = $ 22 and I’ve never been more happy. Thank you Joe and Patio Barber Shop.

Everything cited in my 2010 review still stands. Joe gives the best haircuts I’ve ever had in my life, ever. Now that I’m sporting a beard, I let Joe trim that too. The beard trim is a wonderful thing, done with precision and an eye for detail, and finished off with a lovely neck shave. If I lived in the desert cities, I’d be here for a haircut and beard trim about every other week. It really is that good. I also love the fantastic history of this shop, how it has been in this location for five generations of Joe’s family, and how Joe continues to train barbers who will carry on the tradition of quality and excellence. Still the best in the west – and anywhere else.

I’m a woman who has been going to a barber for my hair cuts for years, and always get waaaay more compliments on barber’s cuts than on those mega-buck cuts I’ve experienced! Had my first appointment with Joe Hernandez last week and what a fabulous find! My home base is NYC, so it was a great relief for me to find such a great barber in my ‘new’ neighborhood. Patio Barber Shop has been around since the 40’s, has a stellar reputation for cutting hair on some of the most famous heads in the world. Really, there should be a book about this place, for if they put up pictures of all the celebrated people who have passed through their doors, they’d have to build another shop. Thanks, Joe. I feel like a new celebrated woman!

Okay, so my regular jaunt gets shut down for a few days due to the fire in the same complex. The timing was a drag because my kids were having a birthday party on the weekend. I needed to look FRESH. I entrusted Unilocal for the answer and this shop was the place. I called and advised I’d be coming in and when I arrived I went straight to a chair. My barber was Juan who looked a couple of chin hairs past 21 or 22 years old. For a minute I was aprehensive but all I get is a 11⁄2 to 00 fade so it would grow back quick. I sat down and Juan went to work. He was meticulous and free from hurry. He took his time and I was thinking I’d be sucking on a lollipop ans exclaiming«Who loves you baby» at the end of my appointment. To my delight the cut was exactly what I asked for and Juan performed the task without too much banter. He kept his head down and worked. The young man was good and he has many years in front of him. I believe their proximity to El Paseo effect the prices they charge which is the only negative. I will use them as a backup when my other shop is not available.
