Just had a (last minute) wonderful manicure –pedicure. The owner was so accommodating with my last minute call on a holiday no less and took great care of me. Left quite content. I will definitely come back.

This shop is a gem in the Desert. It’s always clean, quiet and relaxing. The service is personable and they are very professional. Mike and Kim are very good at what they do and do not rush through to fit more clients in (like soooo many other nail shops do). I like that they encourage making appts so that you have the time that is allotted to you and you only. No bouncing around doing two and three clients at a time. They use nothing but the best products (like the real Shellac and Biogel) and they’re consistent. Its not a place with TVs and loudness. They may not do every fad designs you see in mags and reality shows — but they do what is healthy for the nail and its always tasteful and elegant. And they’re clean! I highly recommend this place. (and the foot massages with the pedicures are wonderful!)

Great pedicure. The manicurist did a great job. I always get the deluxe pedicure and felt the manicurist earned the extra cash. The atmosphere is lacking. They should upgrade the spa chairs and clean up the place. 4 stars is for the manicurist, I will continue to look for my go to place in Palm Desert but nice to know this is available.

This place needs to get over themselves. I’ve been in there about five times thinking it will get better. The pedicures are awful, the owners have their obnoxious children there, the lady that waxed me burnt my eyebrows, and the infection control is a disgrace! I will never go back. I’m lucky I did not get an infection. The place is pretty. Nice ambiance. I hope they get it together. However, I’ll never return it recommend to anyone

MY husband and I were very happy with our mani/​pedis. Friendly, professional service in a very nice upscale shop. Will be back the next time we are in Palm Desert. Best heel callus remover treatment I’ve ever had in all my years of going to salons. The staff was so friendly and easy to talk to and made us want to take their business card and come back and see them next year when we come to Palm Desert again.

Update April 2015: All the good people are gone (including Annie). So we don’t go here anymore. Wish I could know where Annie went. Atmosphere not good; tension; not relaxing… What happened?

If I could give this place no stars I would. I am visiting from out of town for my mom’s 60^th birthday and called ahead to schedule a manicure and pedicure for both of us. I showed up and had to wait 30 minutes while the manicurist looked at another clients iPhone pictures and told me I could remove my own nail polish. She then finished my pedicure and went to another client and started her pedicure saying she didn’t know I was getting a manicure and the other person was waiting. When I said I had called ahead she said that she didn’t know and to talk to the owner. The owner then started yelling at me and saying he «didn’t want to hear it» and I could just leave the salon or he would call the police. DO NOT come to this nail salon. It was the worst service I have ever received.

This place is a rip off. And I do not like how they treat their employees. Don’t act like I didn’t see what you did. I will not support that kind of business where they treat their employees like trash.

Absolutely the worse pedicure I have ever had. I was talked into upgrading from the basic pedi — assured that it was the best deal and would get rid of the rough spots on my heels and the bottom of my feet. And it would also include a relaxing leg and foot massage. Well… my feet are still rough and the relaxing massage felt like cooked spaghetti noodles rubbing one legs. But that’s not even the worse part of the pedi. Give that prize to the nail polish application which looks like it could have been done by a 10 year old. Fortunately there are plenty of other options for great pedicures when you’re in the area. Just skip this place!

I’ve been coming here for the last 2 years, and I can’t stop. I began coming here because it was just down the street from my office; however, after moving back to Orange County, I’ve continued to make trips to Palm Desert to get my manicures and pedicures done. Absolutely phenomenal services provided and the owners are wonderful.

My friends thought it was okay~ but don’t post a Unilocal offer if you are going to be bitched out and not even do it. Lame.

They are not up to date with the new ombré technique and looked at me like I was crazy! An elder lady started my mani with an obviously dirty bowl of water and did the worst job I’ve ever had on trimming all the skin and cuticles. Her hands were really rough and I think at one point her chapped skin was starting to bleed!!! Another lady with light hair took over since they didn’t understand the ombré technique I wanted in the picture I brought. So I opted for a french and she was extremely judgmental about me wanting the tinted pink over the white and ended up doing two layers on one hand but one on the other. All around, would not recommend and will not be back!
On a positive note, reasonably priced and great selection of magazines.

I live in San Diego, but come out to Palm Desert to visit my family every month or two. This time, I decided to spend the afternoon getting a gel manicure, and let the Unilocal reviews guide me to Lucky Nails and Spa. I was welcomed by kindness, and my nails were treated with care. I did not feel like the gentleman who did my nails was rushing through the process at all, and he was the ultimate professional. Though it took longer than other places I have been, I liked this because I didn’t feel like a car on an assembly-​line (too common occurrence for nail salons!). Though not a fancy place (in the traditional sense), the salon had a friendly, calm ambiance, and I enjoyed the hospitable atmosphere and professionalism of the staff. The prices were also aligned with most nail salons. $ 30 for a gel manicure (with no additional cost for removal of a previous coat-​some places charge extra!).
It was an extra bonus that he talked to me about nail care, the differences between different gel polishes (I had no idea!), and which ones are better in maintaining healthy nails and easier to remove. Great information to take away!
Highly recommend this place-​I walked away with pretty coral colored nails, and will come back next time I make it to the Desert.

As a local I don’t know how this place is still in business. I walked in and immediately wanted to walk out as soon as I saw the pitiful selection of nail polishes they have. But I knew I wouldn’t be able to get in to any other nail salon with out an appointment before I had to be at dinner that night. The staff is very nice, but the salon itself is outdated, when you go back to wash your hands you can see that the floors in the back are dirty and haven’t been cleaned in a while. When they set me down for my pedicure my water was ice cold, their prices are a bit ridiculous for such a «hole in the wall» nail salon. I definitely am never going back there. My nails and toes are mediocre and I walked out of there completely unsatisfied. My nails are crooked and she didn’t even cut down my natural nails before applying tips nor check to see if they were even with the other hand. THUMBS DOWN

Nice place and nice folks.
My only complaint is I don’t get polish so I feel like I’m still deserving of some service while that part takes place for the Mrs. Otherwise I should get a discount as I’m done 10 – 15 minutes before she is.
Then again we don’t get why a haircut is the same cost for any «woman» or any «man» (but «woman» is more than «man») but what if it takes 3 minutes to cut my hair and the next dude is Michael Bolton and needs 90 minutes to chop his locks?

The pedicures MR W and I got were a really nice treat to start off our vacation. PLUS a free parafin dip for checking in on Unilocal!
Bummer though, they charge an extra fee if you pay with a cc.

As a guy, (and yes a straight one) I started getting my nails professional done when my doctor said I need to keep better care of my nails, and my wife said she would stop sleeping with me unless I got my nails done. Guess which reason was more important!
I was out in the Desert over Thanksgiving weekend and it was time. I selected Lucky Nails based on the positive reviews on Unilocal and I was not disappointed. The Pedicure & Manicure was excellent. They have a clearly defined price list which was helpful. Like most Nail salons they try to up sale you on all of their procedures. I bit on the arm moisture & massage treatment (they has some fancy name with I forgot). It was great!
The prices are not the cheapest, but certainly a great value.

I get pedicures a lot on vacation and you never know what you are going to get. This place was great. They were ok with my giggling when it tickled. My friend liked it so much she kept getting more services. They were also very nice to our 9 and 10 year old girls we had with us.
