Desert Falls Country Club

We had lunch at the Grille and Bar in February. It’s a nice location overlooking the fairways, but there are better views in the valley. The food was fine, but certainly nothing special. The service was mediocre because no one waiter served our table. Every few minutes, a different person would come by to ask how we were doing. We asked one waiter for coffee refills but never received them. This was a strange system indeed, — but at the end of the meal it all made sense: They tacked an 18% service fee onto our bill. In other words, there was a forced tipping policy (which we hate) and no one waiter needed to hustle to try and please us. They also had the gall to include a line at the bottom of the bill for us to add an «additional tip», which of course we ignored. We won’t be back.

Played in the Nine & Stein golf tournament hosted by the La Quinta Brewing company last night. The cart guys were great, pro shop staff was great and the course was challenging. The tournament was ran flawlessly and every one had a great time. Great golf, food, people and beers!

I have stayed within the Desert Hills Country Club for the past 5 years when attending Coachella in April. I could not imagine staying anywhere else. Everyone is very friendly and helpful and the grounds are beautiful.

DO NOT STAY HERE! We had very bad problems with sugar ants in our kitchen and we had to move to the JW MARRIOTT.

Played 18 holes at this CC. Food was really good and staff was on top of it. Nicely manicured golf course throughout. Fairways were plenty wide and water came into play on several holes but not terribly difficult. Greens were firm and fast but fair. Would play again with $ 55 Golf Now green fees

My review is based off our meeting with the event coordinator, Synthia. My fiancé and I are looking for wedding venues and I must say, Synthia, was very helpful in answering questions and and emails and phone calls. When she found out that our guest list was too big for her venue, she quickly set up an appointment with a friend at the nearest accommodating venue. I give this place 5 stars merely on the professionalism of the event coordinator and her staff a like.

This course is horrible. The designer made an amateur effort at a course design. What ever you do at this golf course, don’t hit your ball in the center of the fairway you will be punished for it. This is the worst $ 100.00 golf course in America. The staff was clueless with the exception of the valet. If anyone had any brains at that club they would put the kid parking the cars in charge. He was the only one who knew which side of the club you hit a golf ball with. if you need a course to play at go to any muni course in town you will have a better experience and a better round of golf. Friendliest golf course?, Not!

We played golf today at DFCC and I had an Entertainment Club cert to eat at the clubhouse restaurant — which has a new chef of late. I wanted to try out the food on a weekend day — my Rotary Club meets at the Club for lunch, as does my wife’s Soroptimist Club. I have found our Rotary lunches mediocre, but my wife says she has enjoyed her club’s lunches. Additionally, our HOA recently had the Club prepare the food for a homeowners event — with mixed reviews. So I was indeed curious.
What a disappointment — I ordered their Shrimp Diablo tacos — supposedly with ancho chiles and Sriracha — and my wife ordered their House special burger, with onion rings both on the sandwich and on the side.
My tacos were absolutely atrocious — just a few shrimps each on top of some cabbage, with no sauce or chilies at all — and the tortillas were woefully stale — GROSS! My wife was informed that they were out of onion rings as our food was coming out — on Sunday at 11 AM after a shotgun tournament — really? — and these were replaced by under-​cooked tasteless steak fries — and of course they put huge slices of raw onions on the burger after we specifically told them no raw onions on anything — they make us both sick.
With the certificate, these two lunch entrees and two soft drinks still cost us $ 25. Horrendous! Next time we will go to In-​N-​Out where the food is always great and served as requested, for less than half the money.

This is a true hidden gem! The chef at this clubhouse restaurant is a master. Great presentations and wonderful menu items. Very creative and expertly prepared. The staff is exceptional. Many assume Desert Falls is a private club… well it is, but it’s also publicly accessible. Check the hours, they vary, but this place is well worth it. The prices are very reasonable and the fare exceeds all expectations. It rivals the top name high-​priced eateries in the desert. Awesome locale with a phenomenal view of a large-​scale championship golf course with ducks and geese enjoying the lakes.

The food in the country club is shockingly good. Their menu is well put together.
Golf is very well priced twilight, otherwise on par with the rest of the decent clubs in the desert. There are some challenging hilly fairways and large greens. Overall beautiful course with view of all mountain ranges. Lots of trees too; its pretty.
The gym and tennis courts are beautiful equipped. Desert Falls is a very comfortable, convenient and nice country club.

Walked up to the snack bar window, ordered $ 6 breakfast sandwich, total came out $ 7.62. I asked the guy, your menu said $ 6. He said, service fee, «what service fee?» Paid the bill. My receipt
shows 18% service fee. This country club snack bar is charging customers 18% tips to customers to walk up to the snack bar window to order food and wait for the food to take it back to the table. Only good thing was food was good. But they are forcing customers to pay for the service they are not providing.

I attended a Christmas party there this weekend. Parking was easy, my filet was perfectly prepared, the margaritas were good and the service was even better. Would definitely do an event there again.

This country club is well known for their group events. Always top-​notch food at reasonable prices. Excellent servers, especially Vern at the club bar. Never had a bad meal here.
Highly recommended.

Just golfed there and was not told prior that it would be cart path only. We did not receive any discount which was ridiculous. You have to be notified of is prior or else this course is just not worth it.

My experience at Desert Falls was the complete opposite of the person above (Diana M posted 1÷24÷2012)!
The venue, staff, service, food (OMG, yum!!) and the view were all top notch. Leah was there every step of the way throughout the planning process (she started at the Club only a month and a half before the wedding) and was there the day-​of to ensure it went off without a hitch. My guests are still raving about it! My new groom and his friends were even able to play golf the day before and couldn’t believe the conditions and how they were allowed to play a private course.
I love Desert Falls and would definitely recommend this location to friends and family!

I dine here once a month with a medium size group of people. The staff is friendly, and service is quickly done for our group size of between 35 – 45 people. The food is Good, but most times lacks in appropriate temperature. The ball room we use just had the carpets cleaned but could use some updating. Today, our room wasn’t quite ready for our luncheon, that was to start at 11:30 am, but they set it up pretty fast, after someone? stepped in. They said they were having a huge members only party tonite for 200 people, the tables & chairs were already set up in our room & had to be moved to the outer diameter of the room. Thank you to whoever you were. It was nice to see table decorations (Nov) on the tables this month, as we never have had any before. That was a nice addition. The waitstaff work very hard for us, and it is appreciated. Thank You Ladies.

Very nice course layout however here are a few of the flaws that reduce the course appeal:
1. Pace of play can be slow although the marshals are good about speeding up play.
2. The bunkers like many of the courses in last few years are in awful shape with basically dirt instead of sand.
3. Basic course maintenance is lacking.
On the positive side they have some great holes including 9 and 18. Challenging but fair.
OK course but not the best in the valley.

Great place to play and a fun clubhouse. It is open to the public. They have the best happy hour around.1 $ bloody mary’s and mimosas. or just champagne. This is my Aunt & Uncle’s favorite place. and it is just a golf cart ride away!

My good friend Mark just got married here and congrats to him and Annie! The wedding was held outdoors overlooking part of the golf course. Reception followed and was held just a short walk inside.
The food there was great! Blackened salmon just exuded flavor! The service during the whole evening was impeccable. Super accommodating hosts and hostesses were the icing on the King’s Hawaiian Paradise Wedding Cake.
