Complete Mechanical Service

RIP OFF!!!
If 0 starts were possible, that’s what they would get from me.
I will start by saying this company was contracted by my home warranty company. In this case, the home warranty company was not the issue. They were on top of this company as was I.
Last week, my pool pump motor goes out. I call home warranty and file a claim. I then get in touch with Complete Mechanical Service and schedule a tech for Wed and then a follow up for Friday morning to install the pump. This had to be fixed as I was having a pool party on Sat. On Wed the tech comes and tells me I need a new motor, which I knew. So I pay my $ 60 and wait for the authorization phone call.
I get a call from my home warranty as well as Complete Mechanical Service stating I will need to pay out of pocket for electrical wiring from my timer to the motor $ 110, a new seal from the motor to the pump $ 75 and a disposal fee of $ 25 for the old motor.
Total of $ 210 plus the $ 60 service fee from wed. I really do not want to move forward with them but I am stuck between a rock and a hard place as the pool is not pumping and I have a party coming up in a couple days.
I authorize the service fees and confirm the schedule for Friday morning. My wife is home and verifies the pump got installed and all is working correctly. We give a check for $ 210 and the tech leaves. I get home around 6pm and notice the electrical was the existing electrical and was not replaced or «modified.» This gets me questioning the seal as well now.
Fast forward to today, Monday, I call Complete Mechanical Service and question the work performed. I was told that the $ 110 fee was for modifications and not for new wiring. The same damn motor was installed, no modifications needed to be done. All that needed to be done was hook up the electrical and ground the motor, all of which were already there.
Bottom line, I was completely taken advantage of and there was nothing I can do about it. If you look up the seal to connect the motor to the pump online, its priced from $ 3-​$ 8. They charged me $ 75. The electrical was $ 110 and nothing was changed. For the $ 25 they charge to take the old motor away, I could have thrown it away for free.
The problem is, this company doesn’t like what they are getting paid by home warranty so they nickle and dime all the home warranty customers to make up for what they would charge a customer whom calls them directly.
I filed a complaint against Complete Mechanical Service with my Home Warranty Company informing them of how I got ripped of as well had them flag my account to NEVER dispatch Complete Mechanical Service to my home again.
I hardly ever review places but this time I felt a review was in order as I would had to have another consumer ripped off like I was.
I am more than happy to answer any questions regarding my experience.
BTW, this is the second time I have dealt with this company. They tried to rip me off then but The only reason I did not review the first time was the tech was a very nice guy and showed me how easy the fix was so I was able to do it myself.

I am being subjected to using this company by my home warranty company for my rental home in cathedral city. They have known since 2 pm today that I need them to repair a leaking faucet that THEY LEFT ON full force when they went to assess the job for warranty. No one has called me back and my tenant is sitting with young kids and no water in the house. I left a message on their after hours line. They have some long winded message that they will only answer emergency calls if «it affects the wellbeing». I think my current situation qualifies. Even the warranty company has called them and they are arrogant enough to not call them back either. I don’t think they come out after hours and especially for home warranty. I can’t wait to see how long this heartless company leaves a family of 5 with no water. I want to expose them for the crap that they do so that no warranty company gives them business again.

In response to John D: glad to know you have 10 000 clients you service. You left a family with no running water overnight. YOUR technician, who went to check and advise, didn’t know what he was doing and left the water running. That is NOT acceptable. He should have done whatever he needed to to minimize the problem before he left. There was only a drip when he got there. I don’t want that same idiot tech on my property again and I would very strongly urge you to get this job taken care of first thing today. I also want to know the name of the plumber who went to the property as I plan to pursue a complaint against him. I am being forced to do business with your company. I would never come to you outside of warranty. You have a business that won’t survive if you continue to do business like this. Your after hours line is a joke. Pathetic that you guys have no conscience to leave water running like that and then don’t even come after hours when you had the authorization from warranty to proceed with replacement. The reviews from other clients on Unilocal are totally accurate and I have already asked home warranty to investigate this matter. Good luck.

I had a home warranty claim denied –these guys offered to take care of me even though my warranty company wouldn’t help. The owner of the company called me personally to arrange the service. They did an awesome job!!!

Don’t believe all the bad reviews from this company. A lot of the problems people are having is with the home warranty company they have. Home warranties are trying to get away with the least amount of payout. Complete mechanical is contracted by the home warranty companies to do the service. They diagnose and report to the home warranty and it is up to the warranty company to authorize the service and cover the repairs which depending on many repairs are not covered, denied or services are reduced and corners are cut. Complete Mechanical Service and it’s clients are at the mercy of the the Warranty company. My AC went out after two months of moving into my new home. Complete Mechanical Service sent there technician Aaron out to diagnose the problem be was courteous and showed up with in the specified time frame had me up and running in about an hour. He had the part stocked on his truck and AC was fixed. The service fee was $ 60.00 and the balance was covered by the Warranty company. In closing Complete Mechanical uses the equipment purchased by the warranty company so if it’s faulty blame the MFG or the Warranty company for using the cheapest products available.

The tech came over, Kaze, and checked out what the problem was with the toilet leak, explained it to me, fixed it with no problem and was out after cleaning up what little mess there was. I would have no issue using Complete Mechanical Service if I had a plumbing problem.

I was skeptical about using them, but our home warranty company uses their company all around the US. Both the visits to our home were professional and timely. The first visit for the estimate was done by Sam and he was on his game and did great. Second visit was an older man who was in and out quick and did a great job. Cleaned up any mess and all works great.

Don’t want to spend a lot of time since i have been waiting a week to get heat in the house. after waiting for an appointment (5 days) they sent a tech that diagnosed the problem, when he left and i had not heard from them, i called the following day. they said the tech was not experienced enough to properly diagnose the issue and they need to make a new appointment for a second tech. i said they should have called me or at least sent an experienced tech that same day. they wanted me to wait another two days for an appointment (seven days without heat), when i insisted they send someone today she hung up on me. Called another company Good Guys AC they are coming out today within 3 hours. Place Complete Mechanical Service at the bottom of your list, just below absolutely desperate.

If there is a way to leave 0 star I would do that. They replaced my condenser a month ago and within the same month, I had to call them to come back 4 times to repair the unit due to leaking, valve failure, and way to much freon to cause the condenser malfunctioning. They didn’t even haul away my old unit and just left it in the back yard. One of calls I had to make was for emergency repair over the weekend 2 weeks ago when it was over 100 degree, the voicemail said they would call back without 5 min for emergency repair, but they NEVER called back!!!
I think they need to change their name to Incomplete Mechanical Services! Don’t ever use them!!!
I understand the equipment was not supplied by your company; however, not able to provide good customer service & unable to identify the root cause of the issue are something I can not understand. It took almost 3 months and the house still had no AC. After I changed to another repair company, they were able to resolve the issues in two trips. Please understand these are something your company should be able to resolve.

I am quite surprised to see all of the negative reviews on here. I had a great experience with this company. I was having trouble with my AC unit and I was connected with this company through my home warranty. Two really nice guys that worked for Complete Mechanical Service came to take a look at the unit and they were very professional; they were dressed in a nice uniform and they were very polite. They showed up on time and took care of the problem in a timely manner. I was completely satisfied with their service and I highly recommend using this company.

Would provide no stars if possible. It took over 2 weeks from the time my AC went out till it was fixed. Brenda purposely created a situation that further delayed repairs by not listening to the time I was available for repairs. Not everyone has the luxury to call off of work to sit around and wait for repairs. Would have taken 3 weeks had I not been persistent. If your home warranty provides you with this group, simply request another vendor.

Tried to use my home warranty to have my AC fixed and this is the company they decide to send out. They come out saying the reason my AC wasn’t cooling is because I didn’t have an air filter and that my condenser coil is most likely dirty. So we do as they say and put an air filter in and get the condenser coil cleaned.
We have another AC company come out and do the cleaning for half the price the this place wanted to charge us, he also tells us there are also other problems with our system. The cleaning company tells us that we are low on freon, our booster is blown, and our contacts are burnt. All things that would have easily been found if this company even bothered to do an inspection of our system.
We then try and set up an appointment with the home warranty to get someone out to see if these things can be taken care of and they forward our service request to this incompetent company again. Two business days after home warranty said they forwarded our request to this company and still no call.
Stay away, as can be seen by mine and other reviews, this place is fool of useless crooks, who can’t make appointments on time, can’t call people back, and do shoddy work.

Horrible, horrible, horrible. During the first year of our move, we used our home warranty a few times to fix up some problems we had. We had good experiences with the contractors they sent out, they were fast, honest, and easy to work with. Until they sent Complete Mechanical Service. We had huge water damage/​stain appear on the ceiling of our bottom floor. The ceiling looked as if it was above to cave in. First of all, the home warranty states that I should be contacted to schedule a time for the contractor to come. And in my experience, I always got called back within 24 hours. I never got a call. A few days later I had to look up the number and call them myself to say, hey, when are you guys coming. This should have been my first red flag. The lady on the phone scheduled for someone to come later that week. After the contractor came, he looked at the ceiling and was not able to determine the source of the leak. He said that he would have to go through the process of getting approval to open a wall and see what’s going on. Ok… fair enough. Just a couple months prior we had a similar situation under one of our bathrooms where there was a leak and they needed to open up the ceiling. Except, the guy right then and there picked up the phone and called my warranty company directly to discuss the issue and right then and there and was able to get approval to move forward with the work. He was in and out in about an hour. I understand that there are processes that need to be followed when there are multiple parties involved. But following this event, a week passed by with no follow-​up. I call in to get a status and tell them that this ceiling looks as if it’s about to come down any moment. I am told that they will put my order to the front and file the work request to the warranty company. Ok. A month passes and still nothing. Almost 6 weeks now and I had to call again to see again what is happening. I am told that the claim was dropped because no leak was detected so therefore no further work would be done. Now I’m just furious. They took my $ 60 trade fee for doing nothing, never in two months contacted me even once (I was the one constantly calling), and I can guarantee they turned around and charged my home warranty company for the so-​called work they did when the contractor looked at the stain and then ran away. I will be calling my warranty company to tell them that I never want them to send me this company again. I suggest to everyone out there who has had a bad experience with this company to do the same. As long as the warranty companies keep sending them, they will continue to profit on being useless. They will overuse the most convenient excuse, saying that their hands are tied because they have to follow the procedures and paperwork of the home warranty companies to avoid doing any real work. It’s the perfect scam! If your warranty company assigns this company to you, I suggest you ask for someone else.

My home warranty selected this company to repair a leak in my pool system. The technician did not fix, and based on what he told me, had no idea what he was talking about. It was raining outside and he said he could not see the leak. So, he charged me $ 60 and left. It was a 3 way valve that was leaking and he said it could not leak because the valve does not touch the water. He could easily google the valve to see what it does and how it works. I called another technician on my own and he fixed it in 30 minutes. If the complete mechanical service technician would have just taken the cover off, he would have seen it had a crack. He would not even touch it.

This is by far the worst company I have ever had to deal with. I had a technician come out to fix my pool which had a plumbing leak. This is the third time that they have been out. Every time they come to fix something they end up needing to order new parts which is understandable, however it takes them a week or two to get standard parts which are available at most pool supply stores. The office workers are ridiculous, I’ve been told numerous times that they will call me back in 5 minutes while they get more information from the technicians only to not be called back. It’s been almost two weeks since the technician came out. Today I called to find out the status on my parts and when they were coming out to finish only to be told that all work has been completed. I will never do business with this company again. Beware they are horrible!

I have used complete mechanical service as our main plumbing provider for my vacation rental company in La Quinta for the past 5 years. They have always made it a priority to be prompt and responsive to our guest needs and this is why we continue to use John and his company to repair our plumbing issues. It does seem like problem do come up but you want to be working with a professional company that always puts the needs of the customer first and my dealing (over 20 per year) with this company have always shown me that.

I’m back, the tech did arrive almost 4 hours late, ask if I had a plunger, because he, the plumber, did not have one! Next he asked for more of my towels to clean up all the nasty toilet water he had all over the floor, and then walked through onto my wood floors that had just been cleaned! He tried to tell me not to worry because the water was «clean». The toilet finally worked properly without leaking, but now it it bolted down so crooked that guests asked «Who in the world put that toilet in?» The kid tech from Complete Mechanical announced it was fixed when he was done, and we asked if he made sure it didn’t leak this time. He said it didn’t leak for sure because he didn’t want to come back again! Wow, lousey work, lack of tools needed for the job and then insult the homeowner… NEVER use this company!

On New Years Eve at 4 PM, I had a leaking pipe from my hot water heater recirculating pump. At 6 PM, the company owner, John Doyle, showed up. The problem was not complicated and John was courteous and expeditious in fixing it. My home protection warranty plan used Complete Mechanical Service. This was the second timein the past year they came out to remedy a plumbing issue. I would use them even if I did not have the Home Warranty plan. Thanks John & Happy New Year!

ok I am updating my review… Owner took time to contact me. I found out the problem my AC/​HEATING failed… a breaker that keeps jumping (tripping?)…SO I guess Complete Mechanical Service at least was willing to do work for the home warranty company who is actually trying to cut corners… But anyone willing to follow up is A-​OK

I wish there was a zero-​star option for this joke of a company. Our home warranty company sent them out for a simple cartridge filter replacement and they ended up creating a leak issue on top of the casing. I called them to fix their mistake (looks like a simple sealing issue), and they are requiring another repair request from the warranty company to fix their workmanship issue. I was told they are only responsible for the part they installed and not for any other components that are modified for their installation work. Plus they never called me back yesterday when I first noticed the issue so I had to track down the manager this morning just to get their lame warranty excuse. This company is as unprofessional as it gets and will squeeze you for every penny they can, and they will waste hours of your time with warranty paperwork too if it’s not a direct service call. Stay away from this rip off!

Stay away ! Rip off ! Unprofessional no shows ! Over charge. Leak check $ 250 (other companies $ 150), Did not fix problem ! Run don’t walk away from them !
