Maybe Twice Blest fired the problem volunteers or I just came on a good day… I stopped by unexpectedly, as I was walking to the library, and found the matching pattern to my china. I also picked up some crystal glassware, and since I didn’t have a car, I asked the ladies behind the counter if I could come by later with my sister’s mini van. No problem, came by right before they closed. They even helped me carrying it to my car. I had a pleasant experience and I am Latina. If I read the reviews below before stopping in, I’m not sure I would have stopped in, but glad I did.

Aw poor Twice Blest! Their reviews are quite scathing but I must say I liked the throwback ol’ shop. It has a lot of garage sale type items and isn’t very big but it has some cute finds among everything! They had a huge holiday section bigger than in thrift stores triple their size. Right now the holiday items were all Halloween, Thanksgiving and Autumn themed plus they had a whole rack of various Halloween costumes. Their prices here are good, as well. None of that overpriced shenanigans. In reading the other reviews, I think maybe the ladies working are a bit crabby. I did cross paths with one who didn’t say anything to me. But two lovely senior gentlemen were at the cash registers and they were very nice. I heard them making friendly conversation with patrons and ending transactions with«We really appreciate your business». Add on to all of that they had The Beatles playing on their old school radio. They had my heart! Twice Blest supports Misericordia which is a great thing. :D

Small selection due to the store being rather small. The furniture is overpriced. Some of the clothes are reasonable. I will say that they don’t carry any gross arm pit stained clothes like Salvation Army tends to do willingly. Okay store. Not my favorite. During winter they have tons of really nice fur coats, but honestly, would you really buy a mink at a thrift store?

Prices are extremely high in this shop. I came dressed in my bumming around sweats and was tailed around the store by a little old lady. Don’t know if they thought I was planning on shoplifting from charity, but I really was offended. The cashier was rude, no greeting, she took a phone call and ignored me through the whole transaction. She also did not offer a thank you for supporting their cause or for my purchase. I got the distinct feeling they were very disconnected and did not care one bit for anyone shopping in their pretend high end thrift store. I won’t ever be back and suggest you make a donation to this Misericordia directly. Not much for Christian-like behavior.

Wonderful, loving, caring people, completely? volunteer. I have had the occasional electronics return and got(and trusted) their undated(no expiration) credit with no problems, unlike Palatine Sparrow’s Nest from Crystal Lake. Very nice people who want to make it right and raise money for a good cause just like we do. PhD and Wings in Schaumburg are also worth stopping at. They all have their seasons. I would give it 5 stars if they would Quit turning the lights out(trip&fall law suit) at 3:45 and don’t start vacuuming at 3:30(allergies) while the store is open please. Thanks:))
