Looks like a new phở place will be opening. Big sign says, «Grand Opening Phở Son Ha Vietnamese Noodles» but not exactly sure when they’re opening

Thai D-Lite has been on my list of places to go for quite a while now. I was in the mood for some Thai, so my friend and I decided to visit. You can take out, order delivery, or eat in. It is a small place, but it doesn’t seem to get crowded. We were seated right away, served water, and given menus. Our server was very sweet the whole time. I wouldn’t say I was blown away by the service, but I don’t have any complaints. They have quite a bit to choose from, and the prices are really cheap! We ordered the crab rangoons, pot stickers, Pad Thai, and Perfect Penang. The crab rangoons were small and didn’t have a lot of filling. The pot stickers were probably the best part of the whole meal. The sauce they come with is great! The penang says it is spicy… but I would beg to differ. It really lacked flavor. I’ve had way better penang at other places. They also put green beans(never seen that before?), some bell peppers, and carrots. The vegetables were overcooked and mushy. I like them more crisp. My friend said that the Pad Thai was too sweet(our waitress was nice enough to give us half off of that entrée). Overall…we were not that impressed. It wasn’t terrible, but not my favorite by a long shot.

Quick and Quant with Quality Across from the Walmart on the SW side of Rand rd next door to Tacos El Norte is this nice Thai delight. The food was good, service was quick and prices low. I have had a few dishes here. Yesterday the curry(not real hot by default) was delicious and hot temperature wise. Jasmine tea(tea bags in a pot) was nice. The chicken soup with the lunch special had good amount of chicken and real amount of rice with real flavor(but not overpowering salty flavor so common in soups). They are closed after 2:30, so keep that in mind for late lunch eaters. Coming from RT53⁄355 try to turn just before the strip mall at the light to make getting in easier. It is next to what used to be Ken’s Movies(now closed, I guess the demand for VCR copy of Flash Dance has fallen off). They had a fair amount of take out during lunch helping those on the run back to the office. One comment would be there is a buzzing from some electronics that is annoying but I am sure they will correct that soon.

Great place! Huge portions even during lunch time. Had drunken noodles and they were amazing!

A wonderful place to stop for lunch! I visited on the way to a meeting about 2 months ago, so some things may have been enhanced. Very friendly and warm once you’re in — though easy to miss when you’re driving by. A great gem of a place to meet friends for a nice meal. Décor is simple yet inviting, and the staff(seems to be family) is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The didn’t yet have their carry out menus printed when I was in, as they were newly opened. I tried the Kapow Dlite, and it was excellent! It was served hot & fresh, with a full, balanced flavor. The portion size was just right, to on the large side. I ate the whole thing, but it was a lot — I had expected to take some home, but it was so good I couldn’t stop eating it. ;-) Service was prompt and friendly. I didn’t feel rushed, nor had to wait for attention. I’ll definitely be back with my wife, friends or business associates! Between 4&5 stars — missing only because it’s hard to find and didn’t yet have carry out menu’s. I’m sure they have these by now.

Ordered a pad Thai and massuman curry. The pad Thai was very standard and decent. However the curry consisted mostly of potato. There was more potato than chicken or other vegetables. Plus the potatoes were raw and inedible. Asked for hot sauce and got 1 packet. The carry out bag didn’t contain any napkins or plasticware. The hostess seemed friendly but immediately asked if I could pay with cash upon arrival. I suppose they don’t want to pay credit card fees. Makes them look cheap. Would not go back again. Still on the hunt for a good Thai restaurant in the northwest suburbs.

Under new management, and the improvement is quite apparent. Food was fantastic and the portions are so large you can get two meals out of one entrée.

Great little Thai restaurant hidden in a strip mall! I came here with some friends to grab a bite before roller skating and we were pleasantly surprised! Service was great and the food was very tasty. I had the Chicken Pad Thai(yes, it’s boring but it’s a staple you have to try at every thai place!) and my friends had the House Special Fried Rice and Pad Woon Sen. I didn’t try any of their dishes but they were all very pleased with their choices. My pad thai was VERY generous in portion size and I had enough leftovers for another meal. The pad thai had a good amount of chicken and egg which I appreciated. The waiter(possibly owner?) was very sweet and showed concern when he saw my plate was still pretty full at the end of our dinner(that was because their portions were so big that even after eating it looked like I hadn’t made a dent in it). I definitely will be back when I’m in the area!

It was good, but would like more veggies in everything. The rice was just normal white rice– not jasmine. Crab Rangoon was really good. I will go again if I am in the mood for Thai. I also had a gift certificate.

I knew about this place years ago before it reopened under new ownership. It was pretty bland and unpalatable. I was surprised and almost skeptical when I found a menu for their restaurant(which I knew had closed) at my front door. My mother and I had the taste for thai and decided«hey what the heck». As soon as we walked in we were greeted by friendly staff. The restaurant it’s self looked very different. More upscale I would say. The whole staff seemed overjoyed that we had walked in and immediatley asked if they could take our picture for their display screen, which I thought was cute. When we received the menu we discovered that it was Thai with a bit of a modern spin. We started off with the typical appetizer of chicken satay which was very yummy! For the main dishes we got a noodle dish(which for the life of me I cannot remember) with chicken and I believe there was eggplant in it as well but it was absolutely divine. My mother got a fire chicken dish as well, it was a half chicken covered in spices cut up and it was also pretty good. All dishes come with the option of getting the with low medium and high heat. I’m glad that we choose medium just to be on the safe side because whoa, the food sure did have a kick! It wasn’t too overwhelming, it had a slow build up which is exactly how I like it! I will be going back not only because I love Thai food but because the food was delicious and the staff was great. Next time I will be trying their desserts!

Looking for a quick meal in the Palatine/Arlington Heights area? If you want some good thai(spicy) food then look no further. The Pad Ke Mao beef is always a good call. The lunch specials come with a soup and spring roll. However I recommend paying the extra $ 4 for a cup(it’s really a bowl) of Tom Kha soup, it is very flavorful. The owner is the server here and he really gives you personal attention. If something is wrong he will ask and make it right. Good service, cheap eats, fresh taste!

A nice little storefront that is run by pleasant people. We came here for Lunch a bit late on a Friday, and found it empty. We tried 2 of the $ 7 Lunch specials and each was delicious. The Thai Fried Rice(Pork) was subtle and the Basil Beef had just the right amount of «zing». Each came with a spring roll and soup. Be aware that the offer does not apply to Lunch Specials to avoid embarrassment.

I think this place is a great little local joint. A friend and I walked here during the most recent snowstorm. It was my second experience with them. I had take out prior. I always get the chicken Pad Thai a personal favorite all around. This last time I tried the Tom Yum. It was great! The restaurants was empty but there was a bad snowstorm. The owner was so nice! I will continue to return here either for dining or take out. A great local joint.

This place is a little hole in the wall in a strip mall that you’ll miss if you don’t pay attention. However, regardless of location, they have done some really good things with their food. I jumped into the deep end of the pool on the first visit by going with their crispy duck. I really enjoy duck and give it try when it’s on the menu. It can be difficult to prepare properly, so it is a good test of a restaurant’s capabilities. I have to say that Thai D-Lite did an excellent job on the crispy duck. Crispy and crunchy outside, while tender and juicy on the inside. Just as it should be. The owner is very enthusiastic and is doing a good job trying to engage with his clientele. The prices are reasonable, the food well prepared and the atmosphere about what you’d expect. We all enjoyed our meal and felt like it was a good value and we will be back.

Came in here one day out of the blue and the owner was very welcoming. It’s a small place taken over by a new owner that just opened at the start of this year. I was there for lunch, which was very reasonably priced with an entrée, soup and egg roll for around $ 6. Everything tastes fresh and yummy so I will definitely come back and visit again.

No Delight or even D-Lite here for me… Just bad service and poor tasting food with too much oil. Don’t see it being healthy, fresh, or lite. It seems like every time a new owner comes into this location, the restaurant keeps getting worse and worse. When this restaurant was originally opened by 3 sisters many years ago, it was great. Then, the next owners seemed to run it into the ground with very low quality food and service, and I stopped going there altogether. I was really hoping that the new owner would do things right, but this restaurant was really awful on my initial visit. I don’t mean any harm to the business, but I can just not be quiet and see people being misled by another review that recently gave the restaurant 4 stars. I am really surprised by that. When I went there, the service was extremely slow, and the communication in English was poor at best. The server could not answer questions about the menu, and I was not even brought what I ordered. Water was seldom refilled either. The ironic thing is the restaurant was not even busy, and the service was that bad. I can only imagine how bad the service would be if it ever really got busy there. If I had to sum up the service, I would just say unprofessional and not capable. I do not blame the server, as I just think she did not have proper energy, training, or experience for the job. Maybe the owner just made a very poor hiring decision. I was even mischarged /overcharged at the end. It was fixed, but in a clumsy manner… Unfortunately, the food was not much better either. I believe the food quality is lower than many other local Thai restaurants, and the prices are no bargain either. I love Thai food, but my dishes here were really poorly prepared. I heard a rumor that a good chef(that was originally supposed to start the restaurant) left unexpectedly, and it really showed as my food was really bad and not enjoyable at all… The chef did not seem capable either… I felt like I really wasted my time and money going to such a mediocre restaurant. I really hope they can improve the food and service a great deal, as I would love to see it do better if that is possible… If I hear of many other people talking about continued improvement there, and I ever see increased business, maybe I will go back to try it again and even write a new rating. However, for now, I am staying far away… I understand new restaurants sometimes need time, but this one started off too poorly…

This restaurant opened with a new owner and the same name. I told him he should have changed the name since the reviews for the last owner were not so good. They did a lot of upgrades here and the food was much better too! This owner doesn’t use MSG and he makes everything fresh and to order. I am allergic to mushrooms, so I often cannot order certain dishes because they are already made. That is not the case here. I got my Tom Yum Soup without mushrooms! I have been here twice since the restaurant changed owners and I was impressed with the food both times. The first time was for dinner on a Friday night and there was only one other couple there. I went for the lunch special this Saturday and it was packed. The owner was the only one working as a server. Everyone else was in the kitchen. So service was a bit slow… I think they are still working out a few kinks!
