History

Established in 1971.

I started painting bicycles. I tried electrical repairs on motorcycles next. I bought a 1955 mercury monteclair to restore and I taught myself how to do dent repair and engine repair on that vehicle. After being given a scholarship to the School of the Art Institute I attended there and learned alot about color and painting.

I then started painting cars in my garage at home. I worked at the car wash on RT 14 in Palatine in 1977 while I ran my small business on the side. At the car wash is where I learned to sell. I then took a job at Unique Custom Landau that used to be on route 14. There I learned to work with vinyl and do pinstripes, side moldings and vinyl tops. I was then hired to be an apprentice at Colonial Chevrolet in Schaumburg in 1978, there I stayed until I was a Journeyman in 1981.

During the economic slowdown of the early 80’s I went out onto my own full time and opened up a Toms Auto Body Body in Mt Prospect for 15yrs. In 2001 Toms Auto Body bought M&V Auto Body Inc.

Business Owner

Born in Chicago and grew up near Humboldt park. Moved to Arlington heights and was kept out of trouble by working alot, and by the love of my first and only love, my wife Kath. We met when we were 14, married at 19, three children by 23. Hard working, we put in long hours. She is a psychologist.

We both will give the shirt off my back to deserving people. We learned early on that you can not satisfy everyone and that sometimes all you can do is give a guaranty and hope to satisfy enough people.
