Fantastic Cuts and Colors

I was so impressed by how fast I was seated. Amanda actually took the time to listen to me and how I wanted my hair styled. She was very knowledgeable and what color would take to my hair. I definitely will be going back again.

Love the laid back atmosphere and down to earth ladies working here. They worked me in short notice for my first visit. I left with the best haircut I’ve ever had, and it was $ 30.

Went in last minute yesterday wanting a perm to get my naturally wavy/​curly hair a little more defined. Ever since it’s gotten past my shoulders, its gone semi-​straight and i was missing the curl. Lana assessed by hair and informed me that giving me a cut and adding some layers may rejuvenate my locks and bring back my natural curls without spending a pretty penny on a perm. Well… she was right! No perm needed and my hair went from drab to fab! I’m loving my new du and so impressed with her knowledge and sincerity, as she saved me some $$ and informed me on how to take care of my hair! Will definitely be coming back for a regular haircut from her!

I tried this salon for the first time a few weeks ago and so far I love my hair! Lana did my highlights as well as give me advice on how to get my hair healthier. When I first walked in my hair was dry, brittle and color was in bad shape. Lana did a beautiful job and the fact that she was concerned about getting my hair back to life as well was appreciated! Very friendly atmosphere and they take pride in their work. Rose was also extremely professional and helpful even though I was not her client. Very good people and talented, I will be going back for sure!

From the receptionist to colorist, everyone was nice and welcoming. I got a root-​touch up and have been satisfied with it. My hair has been damaged from many colorings and the product they used still has my hair soft. Lana is a hoot and super sweet!

Amanda did a fabulous job on my hair! If you want a great layered haircut, this is the place to go! I simply wanted a great haircut that took a a lot of weight off my hair (I have a lot of hair), and they did just that for a great price! Definitely will be returning soon, sweet and social staff are so welcoming.

I called on Saturday morning. They got me in on that same Saturday morning. Lana cut and styled my hair. She did a fantastic job! Also very nice and super friendly staff. I enjoyed the environment quite a bit. The clients and stylish were all very social and friendly.
Looks like I found my new salon! I’m looking forward to booking another appointment soon!!!

If I could give more than five stars I would! Lana is the most expertly trained and skilled highlight/​hair colorist I have ever had work on my hair. I have super long, very thick hair so it can be challenging to the average colorist but not for lana! She works her magic and makes me look fabulous. Her technique is meticulous and she takes pride in what she does. Other stylists try to shave time by doing bigger sections of foils but she takes a lot of time to do it right. She does micro sections to make my hair look natural and beautiful. I trust her with my hair, and my daughters hair. I drive all the way from near the city to Palatine specifically to see her! She is the BEST! I highly recommend If you want beautiful highlights, visit Fantastic Cuts and Colors and make sure to see Lana!

Nice small business run by the Owner, usually at the front desk. There are nice touches like coffee and cookies and magazines in the waiting area. Appreciate that touch, as well as what seems like existing and ongoing relationships with the various clients.
Saw a sign with a really good price on gel (no-​chip) manicures. too.

My mother and I saw Vita today, and she changed our lives. We were so unhappy with our hair before we came to see her, and she was able to fix everything we hated. We now absolutely LOVE our hair. Vita is the best!!!

First off I recommend never ever get your highlights done by yourself… Yes I did that mistake and didn’t like the results I’ve never trusted no one with my hair other than me but now I see that it’s not worth it you end up paying more due to the damage by trying to get it cheaper so I started looking around Unilocal I needed help asap!!! So I came across this place and read the amazing reviews so I had to try it out so I called today in the morning talk to Vita. and she book me right away she even took care of me and my daughter we both wanted ombré so my daughter got hers done looks amazing vita did an awesome job she suggested me in getting auburn highlights so i agree i told her im in your hands lol… feel free to do whatever looks great and OMGGG!!! SHE DID A VERY AMAZINGLY JOB ON MY HAIR I LOVED IT… definitely coming back you feel very welcome as soon as you walk in those doors they also have complimentary water, coffee. And cookies which my kids love… if you ever want something sexxy or different let Vita do your hair with yrs of experience she does and knws what looks best if you ask her for suggestions and rose is very friendly too and does great job also thanks again vita definitely found my hair dresser!!!

I have been coming here for the past 3 years and I am NEVER going anywhere else again. Vita does an amazing job on my hair and now I just tell her to do whatever she wants. When it comes to my hair I am extremely picky and I have italian thick curly hair !!! Vita knows what she is doing and I can’t express how lucky I am to have her do mine .Vita is a very personable. She will make you feel very comfortable. The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxing I love coming there on my day off. Rose the owner is very welcoming and tries to accommodate you in any way she can. The prices are extremely reasonable and beats out the competition.

I’ve been going here for almost two years. It was because of Unilocal that I decided to give it a try. I have always had a great experience here with my haircuts and eyebrow shaping. However, this past weekend I decided it was time for some color and a new cut all together. I placed my hair, literally, in the hands of Vita and was floored and grateful by the results. I gave her a quick, kinda vague description, of what I was looking for and she did her magic. She had cut my hair one other time and while it was a great experience, this past one was just above and beyond my expectations.
My only complaint is that they only take cash or checks and since she styled my hair (which I wasn’t planning on, I looked fabulous but that wasn’t in my budget) the amount came out to be more than expected. I had enough cash to pay but then felt bad because I don’t feel I tipped as much as I would’ve liked to. I plan on making up for it when I go in again for my brows in a few days but still. Make sure you bring a check book or ask for pricing beforehand so you know if you have enough cash.

Found this place using Unilocal,as I am new to the area. They were able to see me for a last minute haircut. I had an unexpected babysitter and was able to get in same day. Having a toddler, this was a treat! I met with Vita. She was quick, efficient, and gave me a beautiful haircut!

Getting my hair cut and a full set of highlights… friendly, clean and could not ask for a better location.

I decided that I definitely needed a new hair stylist when other mom at my daughter’s dance class walked in with such a stylish hairstyle — she kindly gave me Vita’s business card, and I called in!!!
She was very helpful, and did such a wonderful job working with my hair type and the shape of my face. I feel so pretty, and my hair looks like it received a new life. :-)
I highly recommend them especially if you want something that suits «you», or if you have premature gray or age-​appropriate gray. I have a traditional Asian flat head, but the highlights/​lowlights and color she had done for me gave much more three-​dimensional look to my head!

Pros: Did a decent job with styling my hair.
Cons: I got the feeling they were trying to get me to spend more. Not as warm or friendly as the impression you get from reading other reviews. Also found it rude that the women signal each other about you when you can see them do it!

I bought the groupon deal for highlights and cut and blow dry and I can’t be happier! I absolutely LOVE what vita did to my hair! She brought my idea to life. She’s very creative and hardworking !!! I would totally come back to her again! Her years of experience and talent gave me a new look! Sophiscated yet funky! Rose is the owner of the Salon and she’s so welcoming! She tried to schedule an appointment to work around my time! I love their flexibility. I would definitely recommend them!

I was a walk in this week and scared because I’m always worried about what will be done to my hair by a stylist I’ve never met or been to before. Well my «walk in“turned out to be a great experience!!!
I was given to Vita (a stylist with many years of experience) and great personal style.
Anyway, my mother came with me and showed her some of the ideas from photos and after she looked at my head she was like a Leonardo Da Vinci at work sculpting away at a masterpiece. Talk about a master at work! I had an extreme makeover and it matched the shape of head/​face. Vita is great!!! Thanks and I’ll be back for more services.
Then… I was turned over to an amazing colorist «Marilyn» and she helped rock my look right out of the ballpark!
This place is amazing and I’m happy they are so great at their craft!
