History

Established in 1969.

Allied Air conditioning and heating was founded by Brent Bauer, an engineer and Greg Budinger CPA. In the 1960’s they worked together at a Chicago based controls manufacturer Parker Hannifin. The two quickly became friends and decided to go into business together. In 1969 they incorporated Allied Air Conditioning & Heating and grew steadily. In 1984 the opening of a Libertyville location expanded the service range to the fast growing Chicago northern suburbs. In 1994 Allied Air Conditioning & Heating Corp. moved the operation to its current location at 500 E. Northwest Highway. Our northern home is located at 203 Peterson Rd, Libertyville.

As one of the largest HVAC contractors in the area we are able to provide fast reliable service to a wide area and can solve any HVAC problem you may have quickly. Allied enjoys a reputation of quality, ethics, fair pricing, and high end customer service for the homes and business of the north and northwest suburbs of Chicago.

We recently had a new Wi-​Fi thermostat installed that was not working properly. Tech Whittaker arrived and walked us through the whole device and hooked everything up to our iPad. He programmed in all of our settings and verified all systems worked. He was knowledgeable and helpful in all aspects. I will continue to use Allied as their service was prompt and very professional.

These guys have a fantastic approach to customer service — which is so rare for the service industry these days. Generally, when dealing with necessary skilled services, companies tend to do as they please when it comes to customer service since the demand will always be there — not Allied.
I turned on my A/​C on the first warm day of the year to notice that it was only blowing warm air. I called Allied and they were able to come out within 48 hours to take a look. Whittaker was my technician and he was great. Not only did he show up on time and ready to work but he was extremely thorough, educational, and professional.
It turned out my A/​C needed some pretty rare parts and everyone at Allied was extremely transparent about the cost, scope, and necessity of the repairs. The few times I called in for some questions or to follow up I was ridiculously impressed with the customer service. I usually dread calling in to any service shop or office as the office admins always have the worst attitude (often times rightly so since they deal with 90% of the grief on the phones) — thankfully Jamie always had a great attitude and made calling in a breeze. Within a week of me calling in I had my A/​C blowing ice cold air and great maintenance package to boot! Their constant courtesy calls and following up when they say they will are just some of the reasons I will be using Allied for all my HVAC needs as long as I’m in the Chicagoland area!

Allied was amazing with customer service, and they provided the most competitive price quote for both furnace and A/​C. Our sales engineer was Patrick, and he was very knowledgeable and not pushy. On the day of installation, he showed up to ensure everything ran smoothly. The installers were very professional, knowledgable, courteous, and clean (wore booties in our house/​carpet). They spent the time to walk us through all the equipment and thermostat settings. On the day of installation, the furnace that was delivered to us had fallen off the delivery truck 9supplier’s fault) and had a slight nick in it (not impacting the functionality). They called around for a replacement of the same model, but did not have one in stock. They upgraded our furnace to the next model up (a $ 1500 upgrade) for free, because of this. We were incredibly pleased with their high end customer service. Months later I had submitted my energy refund to ComEd, and ComEd lost my submission form. I called up Allied for all the paperwork again, and they emailed it to me within minutes, so that I could resend the paperwork quickly. I highly recommend Allied to anyone, and would only use them in the future. Our friends and family will be using Allied when they need a new furnace and/​or A/​C.

I found Allied Air Conditioning through online search. When I called, I was pleasantly surprised that they were able to come out and look at my A/​C that same day (the last company I used made me wait 2 days with no A/​C; and they had to come out twice for the same issue — which, the second time, *not only took 3 days to reschedule me,* they were also late by 2 hrs!!) Joe found the issue and fixed it that same afternoon. Also, Joe was Very Professional, and he moved quickly (–didnt have to blow off my whole day.)

In the five+ years I’ve been a client, Allied has never let me down! The entire staff I’ve dealt with throughout the years, continues to be friendly, professional, knowledgeable and prompt. A friend from work recommended Allied for an emergency service on my 20 year old furnace; I was so satisfied with the service and pricing that I purchased a new HVAC system from them a few years ago.

On january 27th, 2016, my furnace started making loud banging noises. Alarmed, i shut the furnace off and called Bishop Heating & Plumbing because their yellow pages ad said they give senior citizen discounts. The technician examined my furnace and went to his vehicle to write me an estimate. To my utter shock he said if he repaired the furnace it would cost me $ 2700. If he replaced the furnace it would cost me $ 4900. Smelling a rat, i said i wanted to think about it before committing. He then charged me $ 200 for the service called, which i paid and thought to myself, good riddance. Then i called Allied Air Conditioning & Heating in Palatine and they promptly came out. They also confirmed my furnace’s flywheel was broken, but explained that it would be cost prohibitive to repair it because the furnace was 37 years old and not worth repairing because at that age something else would inevitably break down and it was very inefficient anyway. They quoted me a price of $ 1,975 for a brand new more energy efficient furnace (Carrier make) which they would install the next day. Naturally i went with them and am very glad i did.
P. S. They also saved me money by cleaning the air conditioning coils so my central air would work more efficiently.

Blown away service. I call multiple hvac repairs at 1130pm on New Year’s Day due to a gas/​pilot issue. Joe at allied was the only who answered right away (but thank you to the others who called back, sincerely).
At this time of night, on a holiday, I expected a truck roll and a high bill at best. First thing joe did was troubleshoot with me on the phone (wow!) with a house full of visiting family sleeping; I was a lil frantic over the situation. Joe was helpful, understanding and just won a life long customer!
The problem corrected itself and no visit was needed but an impression was made. Cheers joe!

I have used Allied hvac for services in both my house and a rental property. They recently replaced a furnace and AC unit for me, and did a great job. The price was reasonable and the timing was great. They were able to get out in just a couple days and had everything installed in a few hours. I also have a service agreement with them, so they automatically call me and schedule service for my AC and furnace. Great company and I would recommend them to anyone.

I have been using Allied to service my furnace and a/​c for the past 11 years. I have a maintenance agreement so they visit twice a year. I have had issues with my Carrier furnace and when I was without heat on our coldest day in years in January 2014 they were out to my house very promptly. It was sure helpful that I had the maintenance agreement as I got a discount on the parts I required to get my furnace working again. James performed that work in 2014. Great cleanup after all the work was completed.
Last week James came by to perform my fall furnace maintenance. James is a very polite and friendly young man. But more importantly, he is very professional, qualified/​knowledgeable and trustworthy. I believe that James tells it as it is. This is very important to me. And as usual everything was cleaned up afterwards. As soon as James steps in my house he pulls out the booties to cover he shoes to keep my floor and carpets clean. I always ask for James and schedule my appointments based upon his availability.

A few years ago we did an exhaustive search of HVAC providers in our area. We needed to replace both our A/​C and Heater. After narrowing the field and meeting with three or four companies, we chose Allied.
They were prompt, courteous and very clean. After removing the old equipment and installing the new, there was no sign that any work had just been done. (Other than the fact that everything was new.) We’ve had absolutely no problems with the equipment since it was installed.
Allied offers an annual service contract. With it, they provide two cleanings and check-​ups in the spring and fall. This review was prompted by the most recent (fall service) we had. After setting up the appointment, Allied sends out a confirmation email that includes a picture and the name of the technician. The time window they give you is a little broad, between 8 and 1, but they do call you before sending anyone out.
The technician, Whittaker, was prompt, courteous and very knowledgeable. He checked everything thoroughly, went over the work he did and offered some options on how to improve efficiency. I appreciated the suggestions and the fact that he did not try to push me to buy anything.
I am very confident in the work Allied does and will continue to use them in the future.

We have used Allied since we moved to our house in 2013. We have always been very pleased with their services. I recently had Whittaker out to my house since our A/​C had stopped working. It turns out he had been to our house before when we had a strange odor in our house just after moving in. Everyone kept saying it was coming from the furnaces, but Whittaker was the only one who found the odor from a cracked drain pipe exiting our house. He had to climb up into our crawl space to find it! (The inspector we hired didn’t even find it.). So when he showed up at our house the other day, we thanked him again for all the help he provided that day by going above and beyond. He was also able to quickly fix the problem with our A/​C unit this week at a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend Allied.

Excellent experience with this company! I called them frantically because it was a very cold day when our furnace went out – they were so kind and compassionate on the phone.
