Specialties

The postcard perfection of Maui’s North Shore (white sand beaches, raging waterfalls, stylish cafes, and world-class surfers) just got even better with the opening of the Paia Inn. This beach town boutique hotel seamlessly blends modern amenities with the historic character of its building. The interior mixes contemporary island furnishings with the chic lushness of the W Hotel.

The lobby features air conditioning, black concrete floors, leather & palm wood couches, shell chandeliers, a state of the art 60-inch flat screen TV and stereo system. The rooms at the Paia Inn feature wireless internet, flat screen TVs with cable, A/C, ipod clock radios, private travertine tiled bathrooms, salon quality amenities, housekeeping services and fully-stocked mini bars. Guests can enjoy the complimentary morning coffee, tea, biscotti, and fresh fruit in our lobby reception.

History

Established in 1962.

The Paia Inn has been completely renovated, but did not change the layout of the existing building. It was originally built in the early 1920’s and was believed to be used as a small Japanese hotel in the 30’s when Paia was a bustling town with over 10,000 residents. During this time, there was a theater, hospital, schools, and a few small hotels. Around 1962 it became a hostel and most recently in July of 2008, it has been renovated into the new Paia Inn.

Meet the Business Owner

Michael B.

Business Owner

The owner is a talented designer, and has lived on Maui for over 30 years. He started his design company over 20 years ago and has designed many luxury homes, spas and other small town projects in Hawaii, Asia, and the Caribbean. «The challenge is to improve the original design of the building while maintaining its character, charm and history in the community. I moved to Paia when I was 14 years old, so I really appreciate keeping Paia as the most unique and interesting town on Maui. I love it here, the diversity of people, and the feel of walking the town with its great shops, boutiques, cafes and its colorful people. I am excited to have helped design and renovate a landmark building in the town that will offer locals and visitors a place to stay so they can truly enjoy what Paia has to offer.»
