I ordered a marble tres leches cake for my son’s birthday party from Family Bakery because of the great reviews on Unilocal.Unfortunately, the cake lacked sweetness and flavor. The strawberries did not taste fresh. They had excellent customer service and were able to make the cake on a short notice but should not be an excuse for delivering such a poor product. Perhaps they make other items well, but my experience could’ve been better.

I have been going to two different places for my cakes for years, but two weeks ago neither of those places were able to prepare me a cake for a VERY last minute occasion.
I came in and asked if they could make me a white cake with fresh strawberries for the filling (Didn’t want to make a complicated cake request since it was last minute) for that same day, he told me it would be ready in four hours! Four hours later I returned and my cake was ready, it was simple but still looked very nice and the best part was the price! Beyond affordable!
Unfortunately, I didn’t taste the cake but all the people that did said it was good!
I’ll definitely return.

For my husbands 40th birthday he had no idea what eh wanted to do. Literally a few days before the big day and labor day weekend at that he decided on a small gathering. I searched for a place that would have a good cake, reasonably priced and the ability to create something unique on a drop of a dime! The Family Bakery and Café did just that!
The cake was unique, and just what I wanted. It was delicious and reasonably priced, they asked what I needed and they came through like champs.
Thank you for making my husbands birthday extra special and delicious!

I keep forgetting to leave a review because of my busy schedule, but this guy deserves 10 stars. I bought a chocolate cake for nieces birthday, my whole family was super happy because the cake was not only beautiful but delicious! Thank you Juan for the cake. I ordered a last minute birthday cake for my son. This bakery was new to me my fiancé promised me this bakery was not gonna disappoint. We ordered a tres leches cake with strawberry and peaches I know the combination is a little too exotic but trust me when I say it was BOMB! I am honest to say I was getting a lot of comments about the cake instead of my heels the whole night

Yesterday I was looking for a last minute cake for my brother in law Rica ak guapo, I went to another bakery name Kiki’s where, I do appreciate their honesty cause they didn’t want to sell me a 2 day old cake, so I look up local bakery in Pacoima and I am glad I found La Family Bakery, the tres leches cake and strawberry was great, also pick up the mocha cake which was my favorite of course I love coffee, by the way I leave in Wilmington and I didn’t have nor new a good bakery in the valley until now ,

Awesome place to buy cakes! More when you can’t decide and are driving around last minute! This place has fresh-​fresh cakes already made. The owner is very friendly and very accomadating to ones request. Will be coming back soon to buy my 5yr old his birthday cake.

came in to place an order for gender reveal cupcakes I got regular size and mini. Juan was very helpful and met all of my requests, he was able to fill both size of cupcakes when other bakeries wouldn’t fill mini. He gave and showed me a sample of a filled cupcake and man Oh man it was Delicious!!! Bread was moist and flavorful the buttercream was exceptional and most of all it wasn’t too sweet. So I placed my order and my gender reveal party was a success, everyone loved the cupcakes and they looked and tasted just how I imagined. Hopefully the family decides to come here for babyshower cake.

So, every year on 07/​30, I usually buy a tres leches cake from different bakeries. Sometimes I buy cakes at the Vallarta supermarket, but this time I wanted to try another tres leches locally. I saw this bakery on Unilocal with good reviews and likes, so I decided todrive here and see their cakes. I’m glad I did. Great atmosphere. Great staff. Good prices. I bought a tres leches cake w/​strawberries, small, for up to 5 – 7 people for $ 15.00. For me, that’s not bad. The cake was delicious. My family loved every layer of this cake. Let’s just say the birthday man loved his favorite cake. Will come again.

Great place for custom cakes and great flavor. I was impressed when i placed my first order with them. Stund when i picked up my cake it was more then expected very beautiful and perfect. Staff is nice but need to work on their professionalism. This is my new favorite bakery for my custom cakes,

I love this guy! Makes delicious, amazing cakes! I ordered my daughters 1st bday cake 3 weeks before her birthday, I showed him 3 different cakes I liked and he combined them exactly how I wanted it, and it tasted soooo delicious! My guests were very impressed! Chocolate on chocolate cake! Delish!!!

This posting is Long over due. This bakery is new to the San Fernando Valley, the first cake he made for us was a raiders cake and since then we have been going to him for all our celebrating pastry needs. He does such an amazing job with the design, I send him pictures of what I want and I am never disappointed. He has options of fondant or just icing, very polite and always willing to work out a design idea. The staff here are very talented !!! Our friends now go to him and no one is disappointed. By the way he gas good prices: Compared to other bakeries that can do what he can. Thanks for our recent order ;beautiful and delicious Dodgers cake and cake pops I opted for icing again and the icing looks so perfect just like fondant … Amazing talent !!!

Needed a nice cake for a baby shower for my daughter because the person that was supposed to order the cake flaked. We were a little stressed because we needed the cake within a week or two. Juan designed a beautiful cake for my daughter. What I like the best was the taste of the cake. There were over 50 people at the party and they kept coming back for more. I wish I would have saved some cake for myself. I will definitely go back to that bakery to order another cake. The pastries and cookies taste great also.

While searching for a cake for my daughters first birthday, hubby and I came across this bakery on Unilocal.Based on the reviews, we drove to the bakery just to check it out, not expecting much. Not only did we end up ordering her birthday cake here, we also ended up getting cupcakes and my cousins cake as well.
Juan was extremely nice and helpful. His prices were really good and he listened to what I wanted. I’m sick of other bakeries charging $ 200+ for fondant cakes and when I told Juan what I wanted he had other solutions to make the cakes look nice but not expensive AND all the cakes tasted good!

I live in a family of procrastinators, I am the first to admit. So again, we needed another cake STAT, like really STAT. 30 min kind of STAT. My sister and I walked in and they didn’t really have any cakes for sale that were already completed. They had other cakes that we were not in the mood for.
The representative asked what it was that we were looking for. I explained a white cake with banana, very plain and simple. He said no problem, come back in 1 hour. To my surprise, the cake was ready in exactly 1 hour. I love this place!!! The cake doesn’t get any fresher than that!

This cake was by far one of the best cakes ever! Juan and his team are AMAZING! I took Juan some examples of what I wanted for my birthday cake and he exceeded my expectations.
I was very happy with my cake and everyone was in awe of his creation. I’ve gone to other «high end» bakery’s where I also showed them samples of what I wanted and honestly, I was disappointed.
This bakery is very friendly, can make the creations you want, and tastes as good as it looks. Usually it’s all about the display and then the cake taste like s***! Well, not in this bakery! You get both! You get to have your cake and eat it too.
