Since then, Junior has poured his life into the business and has had the rare opportunity to watch it grow. Hermelindo Garcia ‘Junior” started Cannonball Pools after realizing his talents and abilities while working for another pool company. He put his high energy level and vibrant personality, work experience and pool expertise to work for him to drive an effective and successful swimming pool company.

His background has also afforded him some intangible qualities that one cannot learn from a book. Qualities such as resourcefulness, insight, accountability, pride, integrity, leadership, and his likeable personality.

Since starting Cannonball Pools, Junior has poured his life into the business and has had the rare opportunity to watch it grow. He believes so much in his business that his growing family is now apart of his business.

I came across cannonball pools by accident after reading a fellow Unilocalers review. Thank you. My pool cell had broken and after spending a fortune at the pool store and having them just give me a run around I had it with my pool turning green. Cannonball pools to my rescue. Not only did he clear up my pool he found the true problem of the broken salt cell. They are honest and reasonable. We can now enjoy our pool again and not the filthy $ pit. Thanks

Outstanding! We were thinking about replacing our 50 year old pool tile that had been neglected for decades but thought we should try professionally cleaning it first. Glad we did. Junior is a pro. The tile looks great and the service was on point. I highly recommend.

We’ve been using Cannonball Pools for about 2 years now after putting in a new salt water pool and spa at our home in Brentwood. Junior is extremely reliable, knowledgeable, and probably most importantly, very trustworthy. We absolutely and totally recommend him for great pool service. Amber is great with the billing also. It’s rare to find people who are competent, honest, and nice to be around. We are very lucky to have them as part of our lives. We’re in the business that relies on working with good people. Our lives would be so much more simplified if everybody was like Junior. Can’t write enough. So we’ll just end it with that.

Junior is great. He started with me when I needed my pool seriously cleaned because of ash from a local fire. The pool was black and he was smart enough to know to just attach a pump to his vacuum and pump out the ash after it settled rather than run it though my filter (which would have taken months to clean out.)
Since then he’s been my guy and the pool looks great. He let me know about great pool pump program from the DWP and gave me a good deal on installation.
it’s also refreshing that he actually has an office person to sort out any billing or scheduling questions. Amber is great and super sweet. She make working with them professional and efficient.

Beware of this guy. He has no business license on the Contractor’s Licensing Board, even though his website says he is licensed. He calls himself Hermelindo and then told me he goes by Ed Jr. This guy intentionally created a 5 foot crack in our in-​ground spa, after placing a low bid to do a sand blast and acid wash. Apparently, he thought we would hire him to fix this. I know our spa was in great shape because I inspected the spa prior to his arrival. He must have pounded in a tool to create separation between the Pebble Tech and Gunite base: ½ inch wide and 5 foot long! I can’t believe we hired this guy. Worst mistake in 2015 so far by far.

So this guy is a first class stand up business owner. I hired him to come to my house and blast off the severe calcium line on my pool. he came out gave me a very fair deal and did the work. After the work was done it looked GREAT, amazing in fact. I was SO happy to have my pool finally looking clean. I had tried to scrub, scrape, everything; nothing worked. I even had tried a razor blade. Nothing. You have to use the sandblaster and it worked great. Now here is the kicker! He leaves, and about 2 hours later, while the pool is filling, the portion visible UNDER the line now looks milky. It looked fine when he was finished, but I guess it was wet to some degree from the process and when dried looked bad. Granted the main problem was totally resolved. I called him and he immediately came back out the next day without hassle, complaint, or anything. He was in fact sorry that he had missed it. To his defense, you couldn’t see it till it dried. Never the less, he came back and made it right. He was here the second time almost as long as the first.
That is what I call a good business that sticks by their word. I was very pleased indeed. I had gotten pricing from others for somewhat more, but I’m confident that no one would give as good a service as this guy. Kudos for doing the right thing!

I don’t personally own a pool, but we have one in my building. I don’t know much about the process of cleaning a pool and what types of chemicals are used and I have a young son who loves to swim so I thought I would ask a few questions before I let him dive on in. The other day I finally had the pleasure of meeting Junior from Cannonball Pools and he was so nice and answered all of my questions. The tenants here use the pool all the time, especially in the summer, and I’ve never seen it dirty! I told Junior he must be here everyday because it’s always so clean. I’ve also seen him do repairs and even install our heater! He’s a one stop shop for sure! And since I am in the process of looking for a house with a pool, I of course asked him about his prices and did research on his company and I’m very pleased with the results. He was also nice enough to provide me with a list of references and upon contacting them I came to the conclusion that all though he’s not the cheapest pool man, he most definitely has great quality work and really builds a relationship with his clients. I totally recommend Cannonball Pools and will for sure be hiring him once I get find my place with a pool!
