Tons of Bubbles Laundromat

My relationship with Tons of Bubbles regularly goes through ups and downs.
Up: I feel so relaxed looking out at the hills of Pacifica while waiting for my laundry to get done…
Down: These machines are kind of expensive!
Up: Feeling so cozy in these big red chairs and sofas…
Down: Why is this floor so dirty all the time?
Up: My clothes get thoroughly clean and dry very quickly… in an hour and a half I have done up to 8 loads.
Down: There are at least two machines out of order every time I’m here.
Up: Plenty of free and easy parking.
Up: There’s a coin machine that changes $ 20 bills.
Up: Even when it’s crowded and busy I can always get the machines I need.
Up: Free wifi.
Up: I’m starting to see the same people over and over and that’s kind of a comforting feeling.
Up: Numerous machines that do HUGE loads.
So, as with most relationships, when the ups outnumber the downs it’s easier to forgive the warts. Which is why I drive from SF to do my laundry in Pacifica. Warts and all, Tons of Bubbles is my laundromat.

«BE CAREFUL» when you wash your clothes here, several times I got stolen from the dryer, is a lot of homeless staying at this place and no security, no one is responsible for the lost.

Way OVERPRICED & FAULTY equipment!
There are no washers priced for small loads, just small washers with big price, OVER $ 3.00! All of these machibes are way too expensive.
Dryer changed setting to HOT on it’s own, after I had initially set to lowest heat! I Came back to SHRUNKEN clothes, AARRGGHH!!!

Owner is very rude. I went in to get quarters and she confronted me saying, «you better be using those quarters for laundry». Then she followed me outside to my vehicle and wanted to see my laundry. I will never go to this establishment again. I suggest you don’t either. If I could give 0 stars I would!

Updated my review so you can all know how TRULY HORRIBLE this place is…
I live less then a block away from this wash house and I have on site washers in my complex that I normally use because it’s more efficient and WAYYY cheaper!!! ($ 1.75 compared to her $ 3.25!!!) but I figured that I needed to knock out a few loads quickly so I had no choice but to go here. If I could give this place no stars I would! This is THE worst place to wash clothes and this is why! My grandmother has been living a block away for the last 20 years and the people who owned it before were doing a much better job because now their machines are crap and break down and get stuck or out of order or the change machine is broke or the dryers aren’t heating up fully! It’s always something! I used their VERY small but VERY expensive $ 3.25 washer and everything was going fine til the machine was stuck on 6 mins because it was «unbalanced». 15 mins later and it’s still stuck on 6 mins and I couldn’t even open the door to get my clothes out because it locks automatically… 25 mins later the machine pops opens and out spills all my clothes still SOAKED because they didn’t fully spin. As I was already very angry I proceeded to take my clothes out and put them in a new washer so they can rinse fully and the EXACT same thing happened! I had a convo with a women and a man who both said that the exact same thing happened to them as they were washing (pathetic)!!! The man inside washing his clothes advised me to call the number posted, so I did… Multiple times! Even sent a text because posted on the (very unprofessional signs) it stated that texts were okay… And still no reply! After wasting 2 hours and almost $ 7 here I had to lug my very heavy and wet clothes home to my complex and put them in our onsite washers so that they could rinse properly before I put them in our dryer or else it would’ve taken years to dry fully! Three washes later and almost 4 hours wasted… I could’ve just washed in my complex from the beginning and I would’ve saved a lot of time and money! 10:30pm was when the «business owner» decided to text back «what can I help you with?» after I left a voicemail stating my issues! Again… The professionalism is highly lacking! I’d advise anyone who wants to wash to go elsewhere (there’s a dry cleaner a few doors down I recommend) because you are just going to waste your time and money here! Maybe if she spent more time on the customer service and having machinery that actually works and less time on silly wall paintings, this place could maybe run a bit smoother!
Very disappointed! Never stepping foot inside again!

Pros: kept very clean and they offer wifi
Cons: too expensive and closes at 10 PM.
If they opened later, even until 11 PM, I would probably pay their prices because their location is great and around the corner from my apartment, but it’s not worth it to come home after work and gym and then to feel rushed to do all my laundry.

Needed to wash my dogs over-​sized bed. This place is clean and the machines worked well. It’s definitely worth the drive from El Granada and I’ll be back to wash his bed again soon!

I lost the key to my apartment complex’s laundry room, and have been using Tons of Bubbles in the interim while waiting for a new key. It is very clean with new washers that are fast and in good condition. It is expensive, but I would happily pay more for a clean environment with well maintained machines. Another time I used this facility to wash some comforters and one of the change machines «ate» some of my money. I filled out the complaint slip and within the week I had a check in the mail for my refund. Another bonus is that customers who go there are respectful unlike some of the places I went to when I was younger and had to go regularly. I am typically pretty grossed out by public laundromats because lord only knows what people put into the machines, but this one makes me very comfortable and I will probably be back even when I have my key again if I want to do laundry quickly.

So the prices can be a little high but this is my go to spot if I want to get my laundry done quick.
I usually go with the bigger wash that’s about $ 4.75 and 24 mins and then dry for $ 1.50.
It’s quick and cleans my clothes, no complaints here.
As for the couches they seem pretty clean, if they didn’t I wouldn’t be sitting on them.
Oh also free wifi

In HMB the laundromat is so horrible that I travel all the way to Pacifica to this place. Though not the cheapest, the machines works as they should and there is plenty of seating with free wifi.
Even when it is crowded, there is little waiting to get a machine due to fast cycles. Dryers are hot like they should be, which also speeds things up.
This is the one nice place on the coast to wash clothes. Too bad they aren’t closer to Half Moon Bay.

Decided to give this place one more chance since she said she was getting more washers. So of course she took away the smaller cheaper washers and replaced them with more expensive ones!!! These washers are NOT worth the price!!! I really feel sorry for the people that don’t have any other place to go.

Pros– I stopped in here spontaneously and ran I to the owner. A very nice woman, who seems to care a lot about her customers, and business. She gave me a tour and told me the best way to save $ with the laundry I had.

Cons– I’m not sure what happened, but my towels came out with tears and holes. This could be 1 of the machines because the others were fine. I’ll most likely go back, but use the machines in the front.

Over priced washers!!! Dirty couches!!! Big rip off!!!

Ok, so my bad for not thinking about reviewing this place before now. I had a friend recommend it a few years ago, and I love it. My only complaint would have been the sofas, but even that has been taken care of. What prompted me to finally write this review is this… a few weeks back, I had a problem with a dryer. I filled out a refund card and put an out of order sign on the machine. I didn’t really have any hope of getting a refund. Not only did I get one, but it came with a handwritten note! I was and am impressed. Thank yall for being a business who actually cares about their customers.

I’m just gonna say it. Everyone hates having to go to the Laundromat to get clean clothes. ((I know I hate it)) It’s weird people are looking at you, and never ever are you in the best clothes for this day… EVER!
The things I love about this place is one the big table to fold all of the clothes, the bigger front loader washers, and the fact that the dryer can go along time off one quarter, which is always nice and always for the win.
The paintings on the wall I do love based on the fact that the colors are amazing and the little drawing of the washer and the fishes sells it for me. Gives me something nice to look at.
The one thing about this place that scares me is the couches, you know right off the bat they are not to clean to begin with and something that i could pass on sitting.
The neat part really about going to this location is that you can go to the bar across the street and hook it up with a pint while you wait for your clothes to get all finished. Which is always a win win.

I like the décor, its USUALLY clean, has big and average size machines. I love the comfy couches when they get cleaned.

It’s a laundromat, so I’m not sure what people are expecting… this place was cleaner than a couple of the other laundromats in Pacifica. And because they aren’t doing laundry for people, you aren’t jockeying for machines with the cranky old ladies up the road.
A few of the machines are down for repair, so it did require some maneuvering to get enough of the double washers, and they seemed to do the job.
The large dryers are a waste of your money, you are better off splitting your loads into smaller sizes an using the smaller dryers. I had a big dryer «5 load» dryer loaded with three loads and after 35 minutes it was all still wet, I split it into two smaller dryers and after 10 minutes it was all dry.
This is my third visit to a fluff and fold in Pacifica, and I can tell you – it is the only one I will go back to.

I bumped into this place on my way to Safeway, it is a small laundromat but suits the job. I brought my clothes back, and was able to finish my small grocery trip while my clothes was spinning. It was a little pricey which is why I didn’t give it 5 stars.
It’s small, so if you have a really, really large pile, you should try to go on their non-​peak hours, since there’s less than 20 washers, and a couple of people there. I didn’t have to wash much, so I was in and out. Awesome tip, they have WiFi!!!

it’s a laundromat. You do laundry here. They have no other services.
The décor is quirky which is good. The machines run just fine and are clean. I didn’t feel gross putting my laundry in them. I really liked that dryers can be run one quarter at a time. You can get your clothes dry without over doing it.
Huge perk: the clothes folding table.
Slight perk: Comfy couches that I don’t quite trust to be clean.
I’d go back if i was in the same pinch for sure… and it’s in a GREAT location… but beyond hitting all the basics head on there isn’t much to write home about.

It was an ok place, machines were great even though very over priced. Folding table was very large and handy however the furniture in this place is exceptionally dirty for a place used to get stuff clean. I’d only ever go here again to wash a large comforter or blanket and even then only during the day.

More expensive than other laundromats in the area. Limited number of washing machines, ¹⁄₃ weren’t working. One TV high up, near the ceiling, not working? One folding table. Not going back. Place is a bit depressing at night. Only thing going for it? It’s next to a Safeway and some restaurants. Not recommended.

Doing laundry is a tedious task that is worsened by dirty laundromats with surly staff. Tons of Bubbles is the antidote to having your dirty gym socks rubbed in your face. The Absolutely Smart and Sexy Man (ASSM) and I took our mutual dirty undies for a moment of domestic togetherness. Tons of Bubbles is sparkling clean, has an enormous folding table at a height that is ergonomically superior, and big comfy couches to wait on while the really cool high speed large capacity dryers get your unmentionables dry in only 12 minutes. Being in the strip mall with Safeway, six restaurants, and a bar provides other entertainment if you don’t have the ASSM with you to whisper sweet nothings in your ear while the sheets spin ’round and ’round.
Kudos, Tons of Bubbles, you are now my favorite stop for laundry day.
