Eddie’s 76 Service Center

Fantastic service for a smog check. Called ahead and got in right before they closed… Took under 15 minutes and everyone there was super friendly, knowledgable, and efficient. Pretty good prices as well! Highly recommended!

My 2005 Chevy Malibu broke down in Pacifica (I live in San Francisco) and a resident there recommended Eddie’s. Turns out I had a cracked rack & pinion and Najib and his crew there replaced it quickly, professionally — and for $ 300 less than what someone else had quoted! I wholeheartedly recommend them and I’m going back for any future auto repairs. The drive is worth it if I know I have a mechanic I can trust. Thanks, Najib!

Shop Around first. You will pay top dollar at Eddie’s 76. I used to bring my car to Eddie’s 76 but stopped. I went back and was quickly reminded why I left in the first place.
I went to Eddie’s 76 with an oil leak which was already diagnosed and estimated by another shop in San Francisco. I wanted to bring my business to a local shop because I live in Pacifica and I like to support local businesses when I can. The estimate for repairs in SF was $ 530.00. Eddie’s 76 was $ 850.00. It comes down to the bottom line… I’d really like to support local businesses but not at 60% mark up.
Eddie’s 76 owner/​manager, Najib is a perfect gentleman and although thoroughly dissatisfying, this transaction was completed in absolute decorum. So, if you value politeness and have extra cash to throw to the wind, then I would highly recommend Najib, and his friendly staff at Eddie’s 76. If you live on a budget and are concerned about how much you pay for repairs, then go elsewhere.

I just have to say they aren’t as amazing as I pictured them to be. They are really nice people (from what I can tell at least), but $ 150 bucks to just LOOK at someone car? That is a pretty insane diagnostic price.
I came in with a low idle problem, and with my engine losing oil either through leaking or burning. After a few hours, they called to tell me they are going to fix a HIGH idle problem… That’s not why I came in. I came in to fix my car starting, then the RPMs going so low it stops. So I essentially paid 150 for something I wasn’t too worried about and paid an addition 60 for him to clean carbon build up out of my engine.
I spent over 200 bucks to fix something I had no problem with. Just a waste of time and 200+ bucks. I won’t come here again. Sorry mates.

This is my go-​to place for gas. They offer coupons for the car wash down the street (when buying gas, ask for it from the little store when it is open), so it ends up being $ 6(?) for the basic drivethrough automatic car wash (to remove all the salt from the Pacifica air). Self-​wash can be cheaper– coupons not applicable.
For the auto repair, I was pretty satisfied with the work on my car. My husband wasn’t such a fan of the place after we brought his car for some basic work though, so looking for a different place.

I had to get a smog check done. I spent weeks trying to fix the check engine light on my car and was able to get it fixed and codes cleared (I try to work on my car myself as much as I can). Along the way, my car has been getting louder only to discover there wasn’t much oil. I changed the oil which helped reduce engine noise. I brought it here to get the smog test done. They noticed the engine sound and asked if I knew about it. I told them the exact same scenario and they were kind enough to help affirm everything, let me know I did everything correct, clear the smog test, and helpful tips to optimize the engine.
With service like that, why would I not come back? These guys know their stuff and very helpful. Glad I came here. Wish I just did it sooner

I received outstanding service from a. young gentleman who patched a leak in my low-​profile tire. He did a great job and I did not have to wait long at all. $ 35 and save me from having to buy a new tire.

Pulled in with a hole in my tire and these guys had me back on the road in ten minutes flat. Super pleased with their service!

My husband and I showed up with both our cars at 5:10pm (the shop closes at 6pm) requesting a smog check or an appt for the next day. Najib, was happy to help us out and able to smog check both cars before closing. So happy to have a fast, efficient, and friendly service center so close to home.

Najib was super nice to fix our deflated tire that had a nail in it even though his shop was about to be closed. He was quick and efficient and very friendly. I definitely recommend this service center!

This review is for the awesome help I received from Najib. My phone ran out of batteries on the way to a friend’s house, and I was relying on it for GPS/​directions. I had no charging cord in the car and was pretty lost. Najib was kind enough to let me use the front desk computer so that I could find my way.
Keep in mind that the computer probably had business sensitive information which could have been compromised. He went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. While I didn’t actually get my car serviced here, I believe that this act speaks volumes about the integrity of this business. Thank you again, Najib!

Najib is an amazing guy, and knows what he’s doing. I brought my jeep here because it was failing smog. Ran a few tests, recommended what I replace. I put in a new rear cat and O2 sensor. I was losing faith very quickly that it would ever pass smog. Najib had no doubt what he said would fix the issue. He was very reassuring the entire time, and saved me a LOT of money. From now on, this is the only place my cars come to in Pacifica.

Great! I’m not a car person so at the first sign of trouble I panic. Even though they were really busy they took me right in and fixed the problem, super friendly as well. Happy with the whole process, will return!

Najib is awesome!!! I came in when I needed to replace my battery, easy fix, but not something I’m comfortable doing on my own. He quickly gave me a quote and was in and out within 20 minutes.
He was super quick and even checked to make sure my alternator was working okay. I liked that he was honest and I didn’t feel like I was taken advantage of. After just moving to the area I’ll be using him as my go-​to mechanic from now on!

I realize that this comment me not have enough depth for some folks but in this case it’s all about scope.
Every few weeks I come down from the city to check up on my moms car. making sure the fluid levels are at where they need to be. making sure the brakes are performing the way they should. And this weekend, her right rear tire was low on air.
It’s amazing how you need to pay for air at service stations. But, that’s the norm in this millennium. I was heading inside to pay for using the air machine. Not pleased but, again, it’s understood. When I approached the mechanic/​attendant he tells me with sincerity, we are closing but I will turn out on for you. Which he does for free.
What was cool about this was his attitude. He was a really nice person. Like the stereotypical «small town» friendly.
Small things like this make a huge difference. This dude was cool. Give him a raise!

A 76 with heart. A big ‘THANK YOU’ to Najib. My gas cap lock jammed up. Najib got it free in seconds — for FREE! This place is just plain old fashioned ‘good service’ all round.

Najib is AMAZING! He’s very knowledgable, friendly and great at explaining things to people who know nothing about cars (like myself). In 4 – 5 hours, Najib and his team were able to:
— complete an oil change
— put on new brake shoes
— replace the front disc rotors
— replace the rear wheel cylinders
— replace the break linings
— and flush the break fluid
I happen to live down the street from Eddie’s 76 Service Center, but for those of you who don’t have that option, there are some really yummy food options nearby and a Safeway with a Starbucks.
I’m very happy with the work Najib and his team were able todo on my 1998 Saturn SW2 and I plan on coming back to them for all of my maintenance needs.

I never realized just how tightly I hold on to my own preferences until I paired up with another human being who, surprise of all surprises, does things differently. In fact, I guess I never realized that what I held in my own mind as the «right way» of doing x, y, or z, was truthfully just a preference, just one OF MANY ways of living life. Is that typical eldest child behavior?
Anywho, there are definitely times when I feel like my friend and I’s differences can be a liability, but last Saturday afternoon was not one of them. After taking me horseback riding in Half Moon Bay (I had told him how much I enjoyed this as a kid), he acquiesced to my request to buy sustenance from what we refer to as «The Sistine Chapel» of all Taco Bells (Pacifica). While walking back to the car, we noticed that his right rear tire was flat.
It’s around 5 PM on a Saturday.
I know next to nothing about cars.
I also tend to panic when I find myself out of my depth and don’t think help is reachable.
Thankfully, though, my friend is not like me. He calmly knelt down to inspect the source of the damage, and once noting that it was a small object lodged into part of the tread and not something in the sideweall, opened up the Unilocal app to find a nearby repair place.

My friend turned to apologize to me (he had planned out these Saturday activities as a way to celebrate my birthday since I didn’t have time during the work week), but I told him there was no need. I was just really happy that he was able to keep his cool and handle the situation because if left to my own devices, the only party that would have happened would be of the self-​pitying variety.
After expanding our search outward, we came upon Eddie’s 76 (which didn’t close until 6 PM)! We called and let the man who picked up know about our situation. He told us that he’d be able to repair the flat for around $ 30 (we had been quoted $ 100+ by a different location willing to drive down to where we were). Saying a quick prayer, we headed out and when we got to the 76, we noticed both mechanics on site working on other cars. However, Najib, the business manager, remembered us from the phone call and squeezed us in. In under 10 minutes, he had the nail removed and the tire patched up as good as new! He also checked the tire pressure for the other three tires as well.

This place is conveniently located just off hwy 1.
I prefer coming to this place, because the gas prices here are much more competitive than the Shell down the street.
I have not experienced their car service nor entered into their store.
