I specialize in the restoration, repair, and finishing of drywall and plaster interior surfaces, with an emphasis on matching textures and smooth surfaces of numerous vintages. I also offer color consultation services and Venetian Plaster finishes.

History

Established in 1992.

Doug Demattei Drywall began with an emphasis on high quality, custom drywall finishing. Plaster repair and restoration, as well as Venetian Plaster and color consulting, have evolved alongside my original core services as my emphasis on design aesthetics has grown.

This is long overdue. Have have to give Doug 5 stars because he did an top notch job on our drywall. My husband is a carpenter and does not like doing mud and taping. He had worked with Doug in the past on some jobs and likes his work and work ethic.
He came out, gave us an estimate, told us what to expect and when he could do it.
Let’s just say he was prompt, he was SUPER clean (mud and tape has the potential to make a huge dusty mess) he was pleasant and professional. His work was awesome. I finally just got around to painting over his great mud and tape job. They look amazing.
I would recommend Doug to anyone wanting great work at a fair price for drywall.

Doug did an excellent job of putting texture on my ceiling after popcorn removal. He matched the wall pattern really well.
He also patched holes in drywall left by sound insulation install — many more than expected. Those patches fit right in with the existing texture. I can’t even tell they are there.
Doug is easy to work with. He calls when he says he will, shows up when he says he’ll be there and gets the job done on time.

To do some electrical work, a 5′ x 1′ section of drywall was cut out. Doug did the patching and painting. When he finished, I couldn’t tell the wall had been opened. It looked like new. He matched the texture, primed, and applied two coats of paint. It looks great! Doug is highly skilled, and a nice guy, as well. He even phoned to say he would be 10 — 15 minutes late. I would hire Doug again, and would recommend him to friends. The price was reasonable, too.
