McGuire Harley-Davidson

This was my first time purchasing a Harley. The employees — all of them, made my girlfriend and I feel welcome and comfortable. We took our time… literally about 6 months worth of stopping by talking to Owen, Ryan, and several others about different models, as well as accessories. We were looking at the Limited. They offered for us to take a used one they had out for a test ride, so we did… for three hours. These guys/​gals are great! Between the test ride and the customer service we had received, we decided to go back and buy the one we had been looking at. March 19, 2016 we purchased a brand new CVO Limited. We never experienced any pressure at all. Ryan went over the paperwork with us and made sure we understood everything as we went. Within the first month and a half we had put on 3,500 miles, we really love our new Harley.
April 27, 2016 we learned the hard way that someone else really liked our new Harley too. When I was getting ready to leave, as I approached the bike I noticed it had been vandalized. The saddle bags had been stolen, the side covers too. The fork lock was broken, and the security box had been removed. After filing a police report, contacting my insurance, then I took the bike back to McGuire’s for an estimate and repairs.
Again, these guys have been fantastic. I left the bike there, they were nice enough to give me a ride home. The parts were soon ordered, and to my surprise the bike was ready way ahead of the timeline I had been given. Every time I stopped in or called they were always very nice and willing to help. I can’t recommend this dealer enough. If you need something for your bike, give them a try.

First, the store itself is quite nice. They have a decent selection of new bikes, and a so-​so selection of used models. Overall, their used bikes are overpriced for what they are. You can definitely get a better deal on a used machine at the HD stores in Vacaville and Oakland. Their selection of clothing and accessories is pretty good, but again overpriced. Selling at MSRP is ok, I guess, but not when I can get the same legit HD products online from Surdyke for 20% less with no shipping or sales tax. They do have the «I can have it right now!!!» thing, so that keeps them in the running…
Parts: The parts department is pretty solid. John is a great guy, and he and Damien (I think) seem to know their stuff. Again, everything is MSRP.
Service: I brought my HD into the service department today for a 5,000 mile routine service. I shopped around. When I called McGuire a few days ago they told me it would be $ 430, and they would wash and detail the bike. They assured me I wouldn’t find a better deal. I called Oakland HD as soon as I hung up with McGuire. $ 380 and they would also wash and detail it. I also checked with Tim at American Custom MC in Concord who was $ 275 (and who I should’ve gone to), but I’d miss out on the bath and detailing. I decided that in the interest of good record keeping and continuity, I would have a dealership to the major services so I could have it all documented in the even I decide to sell the bike. I called McGuire today and Rick said they could fit me in this morning, and the service for my bike is only $ 416, which is only $ 40 more than Oakland, and since Pacheco is closer and this is my local store, I figured I would give them a shot and support the local business. I brought my bike into the service department where I met Diego, who wrote the estimate at $ 436. When I questioned it, he said that «it might be less for your bike, I think it uses a quart less oil, but this is the standard price.» Uh… ok? How about a real answer to the question. Not a big deal, but still, you should know what you’re going to have to pay for a product or service when you’re handing over your keys.

So, I have since spoken with Brady, the service department manager. He apologized for the miscommunication about the detailing with the service, as there is none. Also, I was told that my riser bushings were bad, and that the bars were moving a bunch and needed replacing. After Brady and talked, I pulled the bars off again and to my surprise all 4 bolts on the risers were loose, which is most likely the source of movement in the bars. Not sure if they loosened them for any reason, but that was weird. I checked the bushings out, and they looked okay to me; no cracks or real signs of wear, but maybe I’m missing something? I put everything back together and torqued the riser bolts back down and everything seems tight, so we’ll see. Also, Brady stated that the reason they are more expensive than Oakland is because they change the primary and trans fluids at the 5k service which most dealers don’t. He’s right that most places don’t, but I called HD Oakland after the fact, and they change them both, too.

I’ve dealt with many HD Dealerships in my lifetime (most of which suck balls) and currently own two CVO’s. The McQuire service department is outstanding! Diego was my Service Advisor at the last visit. He is thorough and very professional in all aspects. I had some custom forward controls installed as well as front fork rebuild and rear shock replacement on my Dyna Super Glide. Diego made it as painless as possible and kept me informed the entire time. The work was done in a reasonable timeframe and my bike was cleaned and polished to perfection when I picked it up. Every employee that I have had contact with, at this establishment, is genuine with great regard for the customer. This place should be the model for all dealerships. I am definitely a McGuire HD customer for life!

Bought a Street Bob from here two weeks ago and enjoyed every part of the process.
Owen was helpful and didn’t hover at all. They were willing to negotiate on price to get my business and were very friendly throughout the whole deal. I respect a shop that values their customers and puts them first. A big thanks to Owen, Ryan, and Mike! Would buy another bike from them in a heartbeat!

This was my first time ever dealing with a dealership when it comes to making a motorcycle purchase! I applied online for a loan Tuesday and instantly for approved! Shawn contacted me the next day, I knew what bike I was looking for a «iron883» and we went over numbers and got everything situated for my appointment a Saturday morning. Shawn was very informative on what was needed and answered all my questions that I had with no hesitation. Was able to make my deposit over the phone, so that they can get the bike off the showroom floor for prep! Also did I mention that Shawn called to ask if I wanted a 2015 with 2015 wheels or 2015 with 2016 wheels «slight difference in machining and weight» I opted for the 2015 with 2016 wheels! Great customer service to even give me the choice!
Friday comes, and I figured out I couldn’t make it Saturday due to work, so I called Shawn on his day off and asked if it was okay! A+ customer service because he still reached out to me on his day off. He got me situated with his co-​worker Owen and I was set up for a 4pm appointment.
I arrive at the dealer at 4:15pm. Went through the walkthrough of the bike with Ryan, and signed paperwork with Owen. The process was smooth and no hassle, I was out of there by 5:30pm! They let me park my car there overnight, which was great! Also, Ryan hooked me up with a free detail spray for the black denim paint and Owen hooked me up with a t-​shirt!
So don’t hesitate to head over here if your looking for a Harley! The team members here are great, and make you feel welcomed!

I just finished up my purchase on a 2016 street glide today and I tell you the experience was flawless! I had the honor and privilege in dealing with Owen Barry junior sales consultant specialist. And he was not only courteous, and professional but accommodating as well. The entire process was painless and not only did my experience with Owen make me feel wanted and important but the entire sales staff including the owner who I met today (he just happened to be in the building as I was finalizing my docs) made me feel that way as well. The owner even gave my 18 month old a Harley dog stuffed animal. Once again words don’t explain the amount of satisfaction that was given to me from the start and I’m very fortunate to have such an outstanding dealership in my backyard. See you soon guys*****

The owner called concerned about some complaints I had about battery problems I have been experiencing and promised to resolve the issue. Frankly this surprised me.

Tony over in service is probably the most patient person I’ve ever met. My friend had some really frustrating issues with her mirrors on her Harley and Tony came out, figured the issue and found a solution. Thanks Tony. Seriously, I’ve never been so frustrated over mirrors. MIRRORS!

We have recently bought 3 bikes. That’s right 3! Thanks to Owen (who is probably the best salesman I’ve ever met, clearly.) What is not to love about this place? It’s like the Disneyland of motorcycles. I first stepped in when my brother was picking up his bike and that’s when Owen showed me the Street 500 with a «reach seat» for us 5’0 people who can’t quite get our feet to touch the floor while on a motorcycle. Came back for it just 2 weeks later! Every single person I have had an encounter with at this location was very helpful and pleasant! The ladies by the clothing area also made sure any/​all needs were met by ordering items that weren’t in stock and even making sure my brothers helmet was fitting correctly. Thank you all for amazing work you are doing! We will be back!

Customer service here was non-​existent. Wandered around at least ten minutes, never approached. A salesman walked past to another customer who had just entered without so much as a «hello». There were two girls at the kiosk where you purchase clothing etc. When they were asked a question about a specific motorcycle, without looking up one of them pointed to the back wall of offices and said to ask the guy in the second office. As we headed that direction, he walked off. Left. Will not be back.
Update-​I am raising the number of stars because of my interaction with Ryan, the person in charge of customer service. He seemed to genuinely care about the problem and followed up later. That was really appreciated.

These guys are legit. I just bought a new bike here. They gave me a very fair price for my trade in and did it all right. The process was streamlined and painless. Owen was the salesman that helped me out. If you need a Harley, go to Co Co County and get it at McGuire.

This place is great. The person i spoke with at parts was kind enough to explain to me about the electrical accessories in the catalog. About 70% of the floor is covered in bikes. All the accessories and clothing are located at the sides and corners. I don’t plan on buying a bike soon but from a previous review I might have to check this place out once it is time for an upgrade
Knowing that sales tax in that area is 8.5% is even better. There is a cycle gear and an autozone in that same area too which makes it more convenient

Bought a 2015 iron 883 and some riding gear from these guys. Owen was awesome, very knowledgeable and very helpful. Great and friendly atmosphere. Definitely the best buying experience I’ve ever had.

Before I begin, I have rarely given 5 stars. You can even check my profile of reviews, 5 stars is very rare with me. I was on the hunt for a Harley and my finalization is with Mcguire HD. While there, I meet some of the most friendly people, a majority of the staff from all HD dealerships are quite friendly. It only took 2 emails with Owen Barry for an agreement, but let me bring you my hardship that goes with other dealerships and how Mcguires differ from other dealerships. So I decided to Unilocal HD dealerships and here are the results.
I started with a test ride with one of the salesmen from Oakland HD and was really impressed with the build and ride quality HD brings. But I needed time to think, but my worries was mostly not given an APR nor the price agreement. The salesmen, whom I leave the name blank, kept going backwards with the finance guy. RED ALARM for me, typical sales tactic like a car dealership, and yet after so many repeated questions about my APR, was the same answer… its low. What about the price? salesmen tell me its in the ball park I asked. That is not an agreement! A reviewer also posted a similar experience on Oakland HD Unilocal review.
Mcguire HD — 4 ½ stars? gotta be good right? only 11 reviewers? I am skeptical. Inquired about their inventory and was given and OTD price that was very reasonable with Owen, I’ll keep it mind. No sales pressure on the phone, just ask me to stop in and look before I make a final decision for Saturday appointment. He follow me up with an email offer, so I kept him in mind for Saturday.
Salinas HD — Kinda similar with out the drive. Inquired about a Harley and was told he needed GENERAL MANAGERS approval… oh well, here we go again. I was quoted the full markup and given and APR as high as 7 percent. Because I only had 715 credit and not 800… I thought my credit was already good? PASS.
Morgan Hill — Sales men tells me to up few grand and we can talk!?? bye!
Lathrop HD — Same sales tactic as well. But I was given a reasonable offer and a not so savory APR. I have pretty much given up.
Mcguire HD — Emailed Owen Barry for cancellation of Saturday, in reference of the games I have experience with other HD Dealership. Owen Barry returned my email within 20 mins with an offer and APR that can be better than Lathrop HD, and all HD Dealerships in general. It was an offer I could not refuse, I left work early on 7÷23÷15 and meet Owen himself. Not once he tried to pitch the usual bullshit other dealers do, and most importantly, the walking between GENERAL MANAGERS approval. I was actually expecting that to happen. Gave my deposit for Sunday pickup on 7÷26÷15 and to finalize the paperwork.
7÷26÷15 here is where the real offer happens. Closing of the paper work on what we agreed on. I did not see a single dollar/​cent rise on on the contract. I did not hear Owen asking for approval as well like others do. Things were smooth and Owen Barry is straight as an arrow. Owen was also very sincere for my safety, I have just recently received my M1 endorsement. My friend was able to ride it back for me. For those that want something done right, go to Mcguires! the reviews speaks for itself. The extra distance to this dealership is worth every penny, maybe thousands for some. Thanks again to Owen Barry, the Mcguire family and staff!

I wrote my first Unilocal just to share my experience here. The service here at Mcguire HD was the best. I bought my first bike here about a month ago and the transaction w Ryan was the best.
I came in told him what my limit was and yea, sure, it took about a week of back of forward negotiating, but we eventually settled on a very reasonable price that left me a happy new owner of my iron 883 sportster!
So at first this sounds like a typical review but what separates them from other dealerships is the fact that I went to 2 other bike dealers (one which was a HD nearby) and McGuire’s service was clearly better. They respect your intelligence and don’t assume you are some ignorant buyer that they can take advantage of. Gave me a few free gifts (shirts, cleaners, keychains) And they even shipped the bike to my house that same day, which arrived just 10 minutes after I showed up to my house. Do your homework, come prepared, realizing it’s still a dealership based on commission, and ride safely on your new Harley!

There is no actual customer service to say anything about because first you would have to be engaged as a customer. All the employees were at their station, heads down. Not even so much as a greeting. Finally I just left.

I’ve purchased 2 bikes from McGuire and while I don’t anticipate purchasing a 3^rd, I’d buy from McGuire again and again!
Ryan McGuire is a straight shooting, friendly sales guy. He is quick to respond to emails and helped put together a bunch of last minute details on my latest purchase.
I can also speak highly of their service department. My 1^st bike had some problems (not caused by McGuire) and they were quick and fair with their dealings. A short while after getting my bike back from their service department, I realized that there were some further complications. The McGuire service team took full responsibility and made things right. They showed great character.

This place is a great place to get your next or even first Harley! Talk to Shawn who is the best sales manager I know. He got me in and out in 30 mins on a busy Sunday! Highly recommend making the trip. I drove feom Dublin but saved $$!!!

My 09 road glide was services here and they did a great job. Bike looks like new and rides better than ever. Oil leaks fixed and twist grip sensor replaced. Just in time for the holiday weekend.
