Ark Animal Hospital in Pace understands that your pet holds a valued place in your life and heart, so we have made it our goal to respect and honor that special bond by providing the best possible care for your pet. As part of that goal, we have chosen to be accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) and have our hospital measured against the most rigorous published standards in the veterinary industry.
Our hospital is locally owned and operated and is one of approximately 3,000 hospitals in the United States and Canada that are AAHA– accredited and have made a commitment to meeting the highest standards of veterinary care.
We have seven doctors and an extensive support staff. This enables us to give you and your pets the individualized treatment you require. Each of our doctors have areas of special interest, and our receptionists can help you choose the doctor that will be the best fit for you and your pet.
We pride ourselves on our commitment to the owner/pet bond. We understand how important your pet is to you and your family. Our wellness clinic and hospital services allow us to help you be the best pet parent you can be. We look forward to adding you to our Ark family.

Meet the Business Owner
Dr. David Summerlin S.
Business Owner
Dr. Summerlin started Ark Animal Hospital in Pace, as an individual veterinarian, in December 1992. The practice was originally located on Hwy 90. Over the years, Ark has grown to include six veterinarians and as of 2007, a new location on Berryhill Road. Even though the practice has grown, his philosophy of a «Small Animal Hospital with a Big Heart» has prevailed. He feels it is important to treat clients and their pets as family.
Dr. Summerlin is married and has three children. His extended family also lives in the area. Amos and Charlie, two Golden Retrievers, one cat and two horses complete his family.
Dr. Summerlin received his DVM degree from Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine. He is an avid football and baseball fan!
His areas of interest include veterinary family practice.
