Ridiculously delicious Trini food. I love this place. My family and I go all the time and it is always packed. The salt fish and bake, buss up shut and the doubles are to die for! Don’t forget to ask for pepper and tamarind sauce for the doubles. Oh and personally, I also like the cucumber chutney on my doubles. Sooooo good!

Their buss up shot is awesome, the curry goat, the doubles, the potato curry is all good. Except for one employee there she served me twice and both times had a nasty attitude it was like she didn’t want to deal with anyone and I believe I heard an employee call her by her name and I believe it was Nicki I will still go there but if she serves me I will take the next server I felt very uncomfortable the first time she served me but when it happened a second time I told myself to never order from her again.

Food: 4 Stars Customer Service: 1 star Overall: 3 stars I must say, Trinciti doubles, aloo pie and bake n shark is the closest thing to Trinidad and probably the best doubles in NYC, they are robbing us in Brooklyn. The con of coming here is the confusing line, the wait and the lack of urgency from the servers. There were 9 servers total and there doesn’t seem to be a fluid process in completing orders, though I got my order, many people in front of me have yet to order. Overall I would come back because the food is extremely good. I hope they get better and have a much better process, I love my trini food.

You know when you get famous too fast you tend to fall off and get complacent but in your head you still feel you are the best because you are still sunk into being brainwashed that you are. That’s the best way to describe Trinciti Roti Shop & Restaurant now. The double is a hit and miss, sometimes decent and sometimes it’s not worth the scratch. Sure, you sell the most expensive of all the other roti shops because your food tasted better. But now that the owner has gotten greedy and overwhelmed, they have lost the real concept. The food has lost quality and people are still feeding off the mental love they had developed in the first place and do not even realize how the quality has dropped. I hadn’t gone here in quite some time because I realize the decline and the line is also ridiculous especially on weekends. I decided to give it one more try before I made a review, so I bought 4 aloo pies, 2 buss-up-shot rotis, tomato choka and baigan choka. Anyone knows about Trini food would know the first rule to make both chokas is you have to roast both ingredient to get the real taste and full flavor, there are no exceptions. Guess what, the food was hideous, they took the shortcut of steaming the both ingredient covered in the oven(I assume) and it tasted like boiled vegetables with no salt, garlic or oil. Not to mention, the chokas were not crushed properly and I was pulling chunks out of my plate and throwing it away. I paid 7 bucks(apiece) and decided I am not going to waste my money so I was forced to eat it. I got half way and ended up throwing it away and, I only got to halfway because I flooded the food with the pepper sauce. The roti was pretty decent and tasted fresh and the pepper sauce was ok too. I remember when they first opened, I use to go there every week and the ower who were also a cook use to make fresh aloo pies for me, piping hot and tasty. Now it’s a big fat pie, dry and husky with little potato in it and the channa is thick and tata looking. Americans may think the food is good, but if you go to most Trini roti shops, you’ll feel the same. Will I go back, highly unlikely.

Came here on a Tuesday morning around 8am. I was craving bake a salt fish, doubles and tamberine balls. The double were good, the bake and Salt fish wasn’t too good. It didn’t really have much flavor so I was disappointed. The tamberine balls didn’t have flavor and seemed to be sugary instead of tangy. This is a Trini owned restaurant so I thought they’d make everything like the Guyanese but I guess not. GT does it better.

Closest thing to Trinidad food in New York lol. I adore the staff and the food is always fresh and delicious. I wouldn’t get into a bake and shark or a curry goat roti from anywhere else. :)

This is the ultimate in Trinidadian doubles and many varieties of roti, and much more. The community, and the t&t consulate rated this place as the number one for such ethnic foods. I love it because of its incredible tastiness.

I bought enough food for me and seven friends on a saturday. Great service. Long line moves very fast. One person will stick with you and take care of your whole order. Tip your server for good service! Bake and shark, doubles, aloo pie, roti oxtail, roti potatoes, roti chicken, rice with chicken. All were very good.

So far love their Chicken Roti. This is a little well known place. Don’t let this place fool you… they get busy! Their chicken roti with potatoes and chana is delicious and fresh. Since I’m somewhat new to this concept, i usually go for a little bit of chana and potatoes and XTRA Chicken! When in the neighborhood… pay them a visit. :-)

While staying at my aunt’s house, we were looking for a quick spot to pick up lunch to take back to her house and we’re lucky we found this place highly reviewed on Unilocal. Every review mentions the doubles, so we knew we had to get that. We ordered one each; they are only $ 1.25! Amazing! Everyone was coming in ordering those. One lady ordered 15 to go! This is mainly a to-go spot. We also got goat roti which was very tasty as well. Heads up though, the meat in on the bone, so if you ordered it wrapped, it could be difficult to eat. We got our roti on the side since we had to travel with it and we didn’t want it to get soggy, which was a good call. This dish was also good, but the all star dish was definitely the doubles. The doubles were awesome and such a bargain! I’ve been raving about them to my family since we have been. If you’re in area, definitely drop by for some. It’s like a fried, flat, fluffy bread that’s piled high with curried chick peas in a very nice sauce. It’s delicious!

Deplorable customer service! So disappointed in the customer service in this place. Been a loyal customer for many years but after this week I refuse to give them my business. On Monday I had to listen to their staff argue and disrespect each other, tonight I called to place an order for roti and was on hold for 5 minutes then hung up on when I complained about being on hold. When I called back the same person that hung up on me gave me the some bs excuse about them being very busy, the manager was also too busy to speak with me. Their food is good but not worth having to deal with the staff in this place. Trincity will continue to lose patrons because of their horrible staff and the fact that they obviously don’t care about the way their customers are treated.

A co-worker of mine always talks about«Doubles»! The name sounded very interesting and she took me to TrinCiti in South Ozone Park. We had a big order from our other co-workers and as the lady was making«Doubles», she took two puri’s, layed them down and poured Chana over them, folded them over with the help of wax paper and vióla! DOUBLES! So as the rest of our order was getting prepared, we took our plates and devoured the delicious taste of warm chana, two hot puris mixed with chopped cucumber slices and hot sauce! It is def a mouth watering explosion of guyanese/trinidadian flavors on your palette! *My advice would be to eat them right away, rather then take them to go. Once it’s made, it tastes more yummy on the spot!

Love this place. We must pass 50 trinidadian restaurants but this one is the absolute best. Bake and shark is great, it was my first time trying shark and it was great. I didn’t get the pineapple on it but will next time. Doubles are great too. Saturday the lines are longggg but well worth the wait for me, a true Foodie

This is my goto place for delicious trini food. My staple menu items include the doubles with everything sauce, bake and shark sandwich, chicken curry and Matai for dessert. There’s a separate line for doubles, another line for bake and shark and a third line for the curry and rice dishes. This place is always packed during lunch time, don’t be surprise if you find yourself waiting on line for 20 minutes.

Decided to give them a try today. Aloopie with channa was delicious. Also tired a chicken roti, it was good also. Will definitely be back to try other dishes.

Its Three feet, Six feet, Nine feet — Bunch. Three, three foot white menu boards adorn the far wall, speaking of Tasty Roti, Doubles and a combination board listing Jerk Chicken, BBQ and a few non Trinidadian staples. From Moracas Beach, OhGosh. In all my wisdom, the plastics not included didn’t tip me off to the fact that this is hand food, which, after my return trip sunk into my scull to understand being closer to ones food, almost to a spiritual level. Ordering my Dahl Puri Goat Roti on Monday was almost DMV line-ish, Tuesdays wait provided a glimmer of hope to a wait time shy of the fifteen minute threshold experienced the day before. Pholourie balls provided a light and airy apéritif to the impending bicycle seat sized Roti even though the Kuchela(mango style authentic Trinidadian side sauce) was mysteriously missing. Feeling let down, I engaged my meal, the Channa filling in the inside of my warm bundle of West Indian lunch love. The curry was made very well, assorted spices, aromas and flavors all came together to create a delicious back to back dining experience.

Authentic West Indian food! The Bake and Shark is awesome! Whenever I’m craving West Indian food I go to Richmond hill, Queens and specifically to Trincity roti shop. The food is authentic, I personally enjoy the doubles, aloo pie, bake and shark and home made peanut punch. The place itself is small and almost always crowded, a typical West Indian snack shop. There are a few(approximately 4) tables to dine-in if needed. The staff is a typical West Indian staff, not so friendly and quick to the point. They have heavy West Indian accents and can be difficult to understand. This is not a place for a dining experience or to have a dine in dinner. It’s a grab and go kind of place. On the service end the place is probably 2 stars, I’m rating this place 4 stars because the food is amazing.

Something is Roti in the state of Queens. When I was playing a concert in Minneapolis, I had all my stuff lifted in and out of the venue by a «Twin City Roadie.» I really appreciated him. I hit on him, but he was not interested. I’ll never forget the way his big roadie hands grasped my Casio keyboard. This place is named after him. What to get: Excellent Doubles, Amazing Peanut Punch What else: Please don’t punch my peanuts This restaurant contains all kinds of delicacies from the Trin Citi region of the USA. Minneapolis and St. Paul. Such as Pimento Burgers and freezing cold temperatures and snow. Yes, you can find it all h… wait, what’s that? It’s Caribbean food? OK never mind. Ignore me. The US Women’s Soccer team loves getting food here. Probably because they always Win-citi Roti. I came here just minutes before they were due to close. It was dead quiet and in a supposedly sketchy neighborhood(I really don’t think it is) late at night, and they didn’t have to even give me the time of day. However they gave me more than the time of day and earned themselves a 5-star rating in the process. They sold me — for next to nothing, no less — one of the best doubles I’ve had. Only Royal Bakery on Nostrand and maybe Michelle’s in Buffalo have better doubles(of the ones I’ve tried). Absolute deliciousness. Loved every nibble. Nice and spicy too(I always ask for extra spicy). By the way, they also do haircuts, and they’re changing their name to Trimciti Roti. If you don’t know what a Doubles is, then here: A doubles(it’s always plural, even when it’s singular) is a soft puffy kind of pita-ish pastry that is more doughy and not at all flaky… it’s squidgy. It’s filled with chick peas and spices and sauce, and topped with very hot sauce — but not hot sauce as you know it, child. I always ask for extra hot sauce so it blows my head off. So to speak. Wink wink. They are a very happy bunch of people, for sure, hence the name, Grinciti Roti. I saw some weird light brown liquid behind them, so instead of assuming someone had got very sick or that there was some underground European gross porn being made, I asked them what it was. Peanut Punch! Yeah right, I said. I know peanuts, and those, sir, are not peanuts. Oh wait. It’s in a punch. Okay. Now I get it. The people that own it are wrestlers. Which is why they named it Pinciti Roti. I don’t even like peanuts. But I took a plunge and I got a peanut f***ing punch. It’s like a rabbit punch but less painful. Oh my goodness! This drink was out of this freaking world people. It tasted like home made peanut butter milkshake but with a nicer, smoother consistency. I loved every drop of it. I can’t believe I’m saying that. Usually there’s only one kind of milky drink I like and it comes from my boyfriend. Michael J Fox comes here. So much so that they are considering renaming it Spinciti Roti. So the bottom line is, get yourself to Trincity Roti and try some of their stuff. Next time I’m here, I’m going for the Roti, baby. I Roti these guys a letter but they have yet to respond. And before I make the drive back to Queens I must remember to Rotiate my tires. What’s that darling? You can’t feel it? Well I’m pretty sure it’s in-citi Roti. Maybe it’s just not large enough for you? It’s okay, I have this problem a lot. It’s not you, it’s me. Well actually it’s U2. Thinking of Bono and Adam Clayton making out always makes it shrivel up and yet I can’t get that image out of my brain. I’m sorry. This is the end of the review, so as they say in France: Fin-citi Roti.

As far Trini food goes, it’s pretty good and the prices are amazing for what you get. I ordered the potato roti and two doubles. My mother ordered something I can’t remember. The roti was actually dholl puri but it’s still good. The texture is soft and densely doughy with no burnt spots. Inside is the dholl, it’s a dry mashed together prefer almost exactly the way it’s supposed to be. The potatoes were curried well and still moist but firm. Sometimes they come out hard our undercooked. It was so much it made two meals. $ 6 The doubles I ate later and heat than up which were really good but I can’t comment on them when fresh. Reheated they were slight gummy due to the moisture but they but the cooked soft lentil beans inside where hit with a sauce that was sweet and sour(no not sweet & sour sauce). $ 1.50 a piece Had their homemade orange juice. $ 2.25 Awesome bang for your buck. Didn’t have their bake but will.
