Cliff’s Auto Repair II

Cliff’s Auto Repair is used for all our work van (mostly fords F250 & 350). Great service, genuine parts which most shop don’t use and fast repairs. The mechanics are friendly and knowledgeable. They also give accurate quotes beforehand so there are no surprises post repair.

From oil changes to inspections, I have been coming here for a long time on and off and these guys have always been honest and fair about their work. We used to call the guy here Cliff but he always told us that Cliff left. Well apparently Cliff is back and things are going well. After getting a crappy oil change at the Shell on Atlantic Ave & Woodhaven Blvd a few months ago, it was time another one and we went directly to Cliff’s. It was a almost 5pm on a Tuesday and I figured I was going to get turned away, but they took us right in and checked everything out. They changed the oil AND let me know that I was super low on coolant and wiper fluid and replaced everything. That’s the first time that any place has checked all those things and replaced them, which was a really great touch. Everything was done within 30 mins and for a very reasonable price. My car has been running so much better since we’ve been here. This is officially going to be my car place from now on.

Cliff is back! He has been back for a couple months now. He is a mechanic that I trust 100%. As a woman its very hard to go to a mechanic and not feel like your are being taken advantage of, like I have been in the past. The guys he has working at his shop are very knowledgeable and trustworthy too. I have gotten 2 coils replaced here, in which he gave me a good price. I just got my inspection done there today. One of his guys fixed my horn for me. Cliff always makes sure my car is in good shape no matter what I have done. If you are looking for an honest and knowledgeable mechanic COME HERE!

You are the reason why people hate going to repair shops. My father went to get his inspection done ¹¹⁄₃₀ and you failed him for not having sufficient brake pad and shoe. Completely understandable, however when I got on the phone with a gentlemen whom I presume to be the manager of the place, I got nothing but attitude when I questioned him about the kind of brake job my father’s car was going to be receiving.
I asked if the rotors and drums were going to be resurfaced and instead of telling me politely that they do not resurface them he begins to ask me how old I am and that resurfacing rotors were a thing of the past. I asked how much thickness is left on the rotors and drums, he became irate. Why? probably because he or his «technicians» have no knowledge of the brake system. Resurfacing is not a thing of the past, go to a dealership or even a chain repair shop and you will get a proper brake job where they actually measure thickness of a rotor or drum and if there is enough thickness left they will resurface it. For a pad slap you charge way too much. If you don’t own a brake lathe fine at least say so instead of giving me attitude.
I tell you to wrap it up then and give the car back to my father so he can get service elsewhere. He then tells me he will charge my father $ 37 for the inspection which he is in his right to do so but that also comes with a 10 day extension which allows the customer to fix the problem and go for an inspection within the 10 days and not pay the fee again. He refused to give any receipt of inspection, so you were going to pocket $ 37 without putting him in the dmv system? really? is this how you run a business and perform inspections that are monitored by the D.M.V? Then your office staff comes out and tells my dad to leave the shop with the car on the lift. He asks for the car back and he is told that without the $ 37 dollars he wouldn’t get his car back. When you were threatened by calling the cops the car came off of the lift and you charged my father nothing.
You guys are a joke, really. I am not some car snob that thinks they know it all but I was in the automotive field for 4 years with A.S.E certifications and a D.M.V inspectors license and still have many friends in the field. Stay away from this place unless you need to put air in your tires
