The Home Depot

This Home Depot is hoody hood but today they all look the same. I have to say they were organized and well staffed and I went in to get ice melts and possibly a generator. Yeah I know waiting till the last minute is silly but I was in and out in 10 minutes. From now on I will be totally prepared for any weather situation hot or cold.

I go to this Home Depot out of convenience and every time I do I’m appalled at how disgusting the place is and I wonder why I didn’t drive across the river instead. The parking lot is a trash dump. That reflects on management. Then again, hasn’t anybody from Corporate visited — ever? It’s astounding that a chain this large would allow it.

Came in looking to get a broken sink fixed. Me and my brother in law met tommy in the plumbing dept. The man is an expert I’m plumbing and went out of his way to get us all the right things we needed and specific instructions. Its always refreshing to meet people that go above and beyond their jobs with joy. I’ve had some poor service at home depot but every now and then I meet a guy like Tommie and I am appreciative

I go this location when I need to pick up something small for the house. The times that I have been to the appliance section I can never find an associate to help me. I normally end up finding things on my own after searching around for a bit. I don’t really like the self-​service checkout, but im usually forced to use it because only one regular check-​out lane is open.

This Home Depot is always out of stock of everything. Who doesn’t enjoy going to this dirty location only to find out they don’t have what you came for. This place is so frustrating. Its the third time this month they haven’t had what I needed, but online it shows they have inventory in stock.

If you think these reviews are a lying just take a drive-​by you don’t even have to step in and you’ll see they are hundred percent accurate. No customer service, not organized, beyond unprofessional, rude and I will never return.

Unlike some of the other posts, I had a wonderful experience at the Oxon Hill location. My mother and I were greeted and taken care of from outside of the store lol and all throughout our visit. The staff was eager to help, knowledgeable and pointed us in the right direction for all of the products we needed. I was so impressed that I stood in line to speak with the store manager to express how stellar the service was and my experience. My mother frequents the Oxon Hill location and said she never received poor service. The Home Depot in Waldorf, Md. however is another story and you are on your own at that location.

While I share the sentiments of most of the complaints I will give Bernadette and another PRO DESK female props. They were very friendly when I went in to purchase a much needed item in a hurry. My home was broken in to and I needed a replacement door ASAP. They were able to work out over the phone arrangements for me in a flash.
I will also mention that I went in for a door one day and a particular worker was very friendly and assisted me to the car.
If all of the employees could be trained by Bernadette perhaps this store would be a winner. I am waiting on that winner in our back yard so I to do not have to drive over the bridge to VA for great customer service.
You have it in you Oxon HIll Home Depot, but it starts with a shift in the culture. Training is highly recommended.

I can not fully express in words how disappointed I am with the service at this Home Depot. I placed an order for ONE custom blind for a rental property. It took 10 days to get an appointment to measure the window, and another 6 days for the store to even look at the measurements. Not to mention the only reason it took only 6 days is because I went in to the store to follow up in person. On THAT occasion, it took three overhead pages and 20 minutes for someone to show up at the service desk, only to find that it would take up to 14 MORE days to get this one window blind installed! The associate suggested she would ask for a rush, but to give her a day.
After 2 days with no response I called AGAIN… no one available and all the managers were «off the floor» in a meeting with corporate. I am told a manager will call me after the meeting… nothing…instead the last blinds rep calls me back the NEXT day. She has nothing useful to tell me about when the blinds will be shipped. Then I get a call from Warren (I think that was his name) who was the original blinds rep that I dealt with, and he gives me a FedEx tracking number for the blinds.
I checked FedEx Tracking site today to see that the package was delivered at 10:45 am It’s 2:30 pm and NO CALL. I call again, am transferred twice, and then when the rep finally gets to the phone, I am told to call the installer MYSELF!!! If that’s the case, WHAT DID I NEED HOME DEPOT FOR IN THE FIRST PLACE??? Now, I can’t get through to the installer, and my tenants are due to move in tomorrow. This process has taken over a month for a window covering for ONE WINDOW!!! (and to date it is not yet installed!) Completely unacceptable!

This Home Depot offers the same quality of items as others except for its customer service. When I asked for help to the staff they did not reciprocate friendliness or even a greeting, one in which spoke to me rude for no reason. I don’t know their work conditions but I wish this store would improve on their service standards. Also, there are never regular lines open which requires you to go thru the self serve (which can be difficult for some). I come to this location because it’s close but I try to avoid this visit unless necessary. On a positive note, they did offer a beautiful array of plants in their gardening section.

I live 4 miles from this location but prefer to drive 14 miles to Alexandria. This should give you an indication about this specific location. Employees are not receptive or perhaps not even cognizant of what customer service is. Unlike the Alexandria or Waldorf stores where employees seek out to help you find your item, this branch seems to avoid customers at all cost. A perfect example is a group of employees were gaggled (routine occurance) in a particular area. I stood looking lost, scratching my head, puzzled look and all looking for the correct light bulb. Would you know that not a single employee broke of the private conversation to help me. This occurance is not an isolated incident. I have walked out of the store many times because there seems to be a lack of respect for customers time. Employees speak to customers as if they are bothered. I am not sure who the store manager is but certainly he/​she should incorporate some customers service skills. Maybe then I will not have to drive over 10 miles to get a light bulb!

I am impressed, this store has recently been really straightened up, organised, and cleaned. I used to go to this store only when I had too; this new turn of overall condition of the store, plus an added benefit of friendly employees, is enough to make me include this HD location in the list of store I shop. I just hope they maintain this new attitude!

Home Depot did my flooring. I got laminate iin my common areas (dining room, hallways, den, living room) and new padding and new carpet in my 2 bedrooms. Perfect job, decent price for the material I selected. It’s been over a year and no complaints. Home Depot is always my 1^st choice!

Service is very hit or miss. I usually can find things on my own just browsing about but when I do need help from an associate either I am sent in the wrong direction or I’ve had great service.
I have returned products on a few occasions, which were missing hardware, only to find that item back on the shelves for the next unsuspecting customer. Hmm…

I have literally been standing here in lumber for 25 minutes waiting for assistance. If I did not truly need the item I would have been gone long ago but there is no Lowes in this area. This is beyond ridiculous. Avoid this Home Depot if you can.

Sometimes I get a great associate that knows what and where things are, sometimes people walk right by and never turn their head. It’s a toss up. You honestly never know what you’ll get at this location. Parking lot is so hectic too!

Despite the number of people working there, nobody will help you. They mumble that they’ll page someone else, who will never show up.

Stood in line for 15 minutes trying to return something and no one was at the return counter. Had 4 employees tell me I’d be helped shortly and that the girl went to take a potty break. I stood there checking my watch the entire time before she walked up with a scowl on her face. She did not look happy about being there. I was amazed that no one else could process returns in her place. Should’ve read all the reviews before stopping there. Definitely won’t be making a return visit. All the employees seemed dazed and confused. Not the usual happy Home Depot Customer Service I’ve become accustomed to.

This was the worst home improvement shopping experience I have ever had.
I have no home improvement skills. So, I pray that the people have it in the store. FAIL, first they had no idea where the damn wall anchors were located. First, I was sent to aisle 3… only to be told no go to aisle 15. which was totally wrong because that was toilets. So, off to 4 which is paint. Now back to 3, I was pissed by then. So I just flipped out and someone with sence showed me to the right place. Which was great until I asked a question because that activated the whole circus again.
Piece of advice, when you go to this Home Depot… ignore everyone, its easier that way.

Hi, can you help me find… excuse me, I’m looking for… Sir, do you know where. These are several of the things you will not need to say when you go here since it’s impossible to find anyone to help you, which is unfortunate since nothing is ever in stock or in the right place. They generally only have one or two lines open which always have long lines, leaving the self-​checkout of death which never seems to work, particularly when you are trying to scan 10 2x4s (wtf is up with 2x4s being like 1.35x3s now anyway?). Definitely only go here as a last resort.
