I just moved to Ventura to be with my Fiancé and I needed to get my full lace Justin Alexander Wedding Dress fitted in short notice and Lordis was amazing! I had heard of this place because my future mom n law would come here for dresses & fittings for her daughters dances, pagents, etc… for over 15 years.
Lordis fit me that same day and said it would take a week maybe 2 to get the dress fitted bc they had to individually unsew the intriciate lace from the mesh keyhole, cut it to fit my back, frame, and neckline, and resew the lace perfectly so the dress looks untouched. She was extremely professional and sweet. The place on 5^th street was rather old and the dressing rooms and mirror display area was pretty «vintage» but I still felt gorgeous in my gown fitting and super excited.
(I bought my gown from Bella Bucci’s on Main st! for a fair price and she had me try on 10 – 15 dresses, still bought the first one I tried on! Appointments only for Bella Bucci’s but I walked in to get my appointment same day!)
I was very nervous about getting my dress fitted because only a skilled seamstress knows how to correctly unsew and resew the intricate and delicate lace to mesh. To my surprise Lordis called me the very next day and said my dress was all ready to pick up! WHAT LESS THAN 24 HOURS!!! I went and retried it and it fit like a GORGEOUS glove to my body! AMAZING WORK! and super fast! She also charged me an extremely competitive price as I had been to other bridal tailors before going to Lordis w/​my new moms referral and she purposely said she would charge me less than the other quotes I got if I went with her.
I am so happy about my dress and I will show pics of the work she did in a few weeks (AFTER MY WEDDING in case my Fiancé snoops my Unilocal!haha)!
The 5^th street location is now closed bc the building was bought but they are now in New Location in the Pacific Mall on Main st 1^st floor!
I am having Lordis fit my mother n laws dress today for my wedding Saturday!

Horrible customer service! We first started at their other store at the ventura mall, the girl working there was extremely nice and very helpful. We had questions and she had answeres. We needed a specific dress with multiple colors and she said yes we can definitely do that. There were some issues but she addressed them and we were ok with them. She then let us know of their other store, this one. So we decided to come in and speak to someone. As soon as we started explaining what we wanted she said, NO, we don’t do that. Nope, uh no. Then we explained we were at there ventura store and the other girl said yes. Suddenly the story changed and they could do it, but it was going to be very very… very expensive. Ok we got it. Then 2 other ladies walk in, speaking to her in spanish and she’s talking over us, helping them!!! While we are at the freakin counter!!! Needless to say walked out pretty upset. I don’t recommend this place at all.

This place is a joke! I went in looking for a dress for the marine corps ball… the lady asked me the date of the ball and I told her… I then started looking for dresses. I found one I liked and I decided to try it on. I was then informed that I would have to pay $ 25 just to TRY ON the dress because I might ‘RIP THE ZIPPER??’ Umm im never going here again! And I highly suggest U don’t either!!!

Zero stars!!! This place is HORRIBLE!!! They ruined my dress and they were extremely rude to me about it. They charged me way too much to destroy my dress. After I complained they said they can’t do anything for me and it’s my fault because I have a weird body shape?! The dress does not fit me at all. First off the breast is almost up to my chin and when I zip the back it pinches my back very badly. Obviously I would not buy a dress that fits me extremely and unforgivingly tight. When I asked them to fix it they refused. The dress came in a size 12 and I am a size 10, and it left as a size 6– I know this because it fits my youngest daughter!!! Don’t waste a good dress, money, and time on this place.

No stars for this place. I went to the Pacific View Mall and found what I thought was a hidden gem. I was so wrong. The sales associate who worked there helped me find a beautiful dress. She suggested a few alterations which they could do themselves to make it fit perfect. 1 week later they left a voicemail instructing me to go try the altered dress in their Oxnard location (was not expecting that). I tried the dress on and the dress did NOT fit. Everything was completely off!!! The straps were uneven and it wouldn’t zip up. The lady who did the alterations then told me that she hadn’t taken in the dress, she only did what I wanted her to do. I told her the only thing I had them do is what her sales associate had suggested I do. She then proceeded to tell me there something was wrong with my back and I should see I chiropractor. She even gave me the number to a chiropractor! After trying to get to the bottom of what could have gone wrong she said I could pay an additional $ 25 to take the alterations off! Mind you I had already spent $ 230.00 for the dress and original alterations. Bottom line… I have a dress that fits like a size 6 and I am a size 12.
They will not help me in any way and refuse to listen to me. No refunds, no exchanges, no returns.

This place came though big time for my wife when she need a dress for my cousins wedding. Thank you for helping out and finding a solution! This place rocks!

No stars for this business! What kind of person changes money for a mediocre job!!! The dress we took for alterations was horribly done. Cut short from the back and left long from the front! The woman who did the job refuse to fix her mistakes. She didn’t give us our money back or fix the dress. Horrible service and unprofessional staff! You want to waste your time, money and ruin a clothing item? Well this is the place to go.

These ladies helped me out a lot. I needed a formal dress and hadn’t been able to find one I liked anywhere in town. I went to bridal store down the street which also couldn’t help me but she referred me to this store.
The quality of their formal dresses varies a lot. I tried on several dresses that I felt were of a poorer quality than I would have purchased. Also, the dress selection leans toward prom or quinceanera more than adult formal so I was about to give up. The owner of the store asked me a few questions about what I was looking for then pointed me to several dresses. One of them worked out beautifully. It wasn’t very expensive. She had it altered and returned to me within the week.
They are incredibly nice ladies and they gave me a wonderful product. Be realistic about your expectations from this small store but they are definitely worth a look.
