Great seafood/fish selection. Love the house chips and civiche. The mix berries taste great. Everything I’ve ordered so far, I love it. The staff is amazing, and they made sure we’re taken cared. I’ve brought my friends here and everyone love this place. A great pescatarian spot.

Deserves much better reviews than it’s been getting. Excellent food, charming, attentive service, extremely reasonable prices. Especially nice is the variety of side dishes, such as tabbouleh and couscous, in addition to the usual seafood restaurant sides. My new favorite seafood restaurant in Ventura county, especially since it’s quieter and more intimate than the big famous fish places.

It is my new favorite Fish restaurant in Ventura County. I love the abundance of choises a lot. The side dishes are unusual and inventive. YOU can put together your food, as you like. The waitress, Victoria, was very helpful explaining the menue to us and quick with serving. The other waitresses were very friendly too. I like the atmosphere; it is not so loud as in other restaurants and everything is tasteful.

Everything I’ve tried has been delicious and fresh. It’s a very nice place with a great menu and reasonable prices. I’m surprised about the comment complaining about customer service because the service has been great. Staff comes to your table to check on you and ask if you need anything. They are happy to refill your drink or give you more chips. The salsa bar is awesome and all the salsas are very good. I’ve been recommending this place to my family and friends. Try it out. I don’t think you will be disappointed!

Finally had a chance to try out this place and I must admit I was pleasantly surprised. The fisherman’s basket was a nice way to sample their calamari, shrimp, scallops, fish, and chips all well fried! Not oily either. The clam chowder actually had plenty of clam — consistency was excellent and the taste was right on. Last, we tried grilled catfish accompanied with Mediterranean veggies — well grilled, seasoning was just right and the portions were fine. All in all our experience was pleasant, although you’ll have to order upon entering(not sure about this system)

YUM, YUM, YUM… I love scallops and came here specifically for them. Delicious! Large portion(8 – 10) on the order… I went home stuffed and that ever happens. The grilled Mediterranean veggies and arugula salad went perfect with them. We also had the calamari — fresh, light breading, not a bit heavy… so good. I love the quick, fresh concept. This is a meal you would get in a nice sit down restaurant without the wait or price. I will be back again and again, Theres about 15 items on the fish seafood menu to choose from and even more on the tacos list, I think it will take quite awhile before I eat myself thru the entire menu :)

My friends and I all had a triple date night at Sabra Fish Grill on a Friday night. Very laid back and casual environment. There were a ton of open tables so we were seated right away. You are given menus but must order your meals at the front register. My group and I were given complimentary ceviche and chips to try. My partner and I ordered the following: — Calamari Tacos: Delish! Recommend adding the spicy green salsa found in the salsa bar located near the back — Red Snapper Plate: Great portion. Enough to satify my BF’s appetite, which says a lot considering he likes to eat. =) — Poke Salad: Great portions! Must poke salad’s that I’ve tried are diced into small squares. This one had large chunks of tuna which I loved. It had a great sweet sauce that was different from other poke’s I’ve tried. The poke salad was paired with a good salad and rice. Def worth the $ 10. We got it thinking it was going to be small enough for an appetizer but that alone can be someone’s meal. Fair priced, great service, and delicious food. Meals were brought our relatively quick. Staff constantly checked on us asking about the food and if we needed anything. Restrooms are uniquely decorated and clean. I will def return.

I’ve come here since the beginning when they opened their doors. There were immediately some issues with service and no management or owners present. But the food and the chef was fantastic. Great value, portions and taste. There has been an ownership change without changing the chefs and only some small improvements to the menu and drop in prices from what was already competitive. The new owners are hands on and present. Not only will I continue and frequent this place but I plan to bring my «women’s meet up group» here, because the décor is beautiful and great location for an after work«mastermind», dinner, shopping, coffee or frozen yogurt right next door!

Came here with husband and a friend celebrating something awhile back. The food here is unbelievably good. A little pricey but worth it. Two of us got ono and one got tacos. The fish portions are huge, as big as my head. The sides are great too. The best side is the potato mixture which includes grilled sweet potatoes. They’re the new kids on the block so let’s give them our business, I hope they stick around.

For being a fish grill. They lack flavor, I’ve had way better fish n chips almost everywhere else. Prices are fair but their fish of the day definitely over price Definitely a 2 star type of restaurant. PS their coleslaw is disgusting, and their corn salad is has NO flavor

Food was good– service was terrible. The waiter got mildly busy and lost his mind. Forgetful to say the least. Forgot our drinks, forgot to put in my sons order(3 year old and hungry). I wanted to like this place– but hire some better service as soon as you can. I won’t be back anytime soon.

Service was pretty on point. We were even given complimentary ceviche. It was hard to pin what direction the grill is trying to go in(Mediterranean, Mexican, Japanese) making it difficult for the majority of our party to easily make a selection. The menu was all over the place.

I ate here and got the scallops, house salad, and grilled vegetables. Everything was delicious! My boyfriend got the basket with all the fried seafood. It was awesome too. We had a great experience and would go back again.

First time here, on a Friday, no lunch rush. I walked in to a very clean restaurant, a palette of blues and browns. Today, I was craving a bit of poke. It was definitely different from the way I’ve seen poke normally prepared. It was served on a long plate, greens on the bottom, ahi tuna, and drizzled in Sriracha and crispies(I know there’s a name for it, but I can’t figure out what it is.) The sauce was hot enough that I needed a full serving and a half of water, and lemon juice to balance out the sauce. My waitress Monica was awesome! She checked in every now and then to make sure if I needed anything(first round, lemon; second round, napkins). When I finished, she asked me how it was, and of course I gave her my honest review(everything above). She kindly recommended that next time, I can ask for less sauce or sauce on the side, or none at all. She agreed the poke is different than how it’s normally prepared; according to her, it’s actually Mediterranean. I’ll be coming back to try their other items…

Floundering around at the Collection we dropped some clams at Sabra and we so happy we did. Oh no, I had the ono and it was delicious. I loved the peri-peri preparation, not too spicy but flavorful. I would order the same thing again. They have a good variety of side dishes. I had grilled zucchini and roasted corn; he had hush puppies. No complaints about anything, The prices are very reasonable for the quality. It is not fancy but real dishes and cutlery and they serve you at the table.(Most seafood restaurants at this price are order at the counter types.) The restroom was clean. The service was pleasant.

So I’m writing this as I am eating. I called to order take-out and went fine. Was greeted over the phone and she sounded friendly. I also asked for her suggestion & she reccommended me one — which is good because some places don’t even know how their food tastes. I am currently eating the Salmon Wrap with hummus on the side. Everything in the Salmon wrap worked well together. I’d get this again. It tastes better than other local shops I’ve eaten fish wraps/burritos from that were so dry, you’d have to overload on their sauce to compensate. Hummus: it came with only three pieces of pita bread the size of Doritos. It wasn’t soft like a pita bread should be, but wasn’t hard like a pita chip. Four or five would have been nice to finish all the hummus. The hummus wasn’t as spicy as the worker mentioned, but it was alright. Just regular plain ol ’ hummus. My dad loves fish & chips so he got the Fisherman’s Basket. He said it was over fried(hard to eat) and he wasn’t a fan of their tarter sauce. He ended up using the store bought one we had in the fridge. My bf didn’t care for the hummus. He said the chicken was really dry, so he had to whip out the bbq sauce. Veggie kebob & the rice were good, though. He said he’d probably try something else next time. Staff were friendly. They accept credit cards. No debit machines. Might not have change for high bills. This place has potential. Just like some of the other reviewers had mentioned, they’re new & just opened a week or two. They just have to figure out what works for them and fix a few kinks here and there.

They just opened so you gotta give them a little break. It’s a casual fish grill at the Collection. Table service. The service was good. They are still in training mode so there was like twelve employees and two or three manager types while we were there. Somethings we ordered were very good. Other things, not so much. The Fried Calamari was not happening. Unfortunately they are using pre-breaded frozen Calamari rings. No tentacles and or squid bodies, just rings. Rings were like deep fried rubber bands. Sorry. Two bowls of Clam Chowder were brought out lukewarm, messy presentation, and did not come with oyster crackers. Brophy Brothers has nothing to worry about. Again, sorry. I was going to order the Fisherman’s Basket which I believe came with fried cod, shrimp, scallops, crab cake, and more of those calamari rings. Fairly priced at $ 13.95. After trying the calamari, I decided no mas on the fried food and went with the two taco combination. Came with cold black bean and corn salad and rice. Super meh. The tacos on the other hand were both very good! Based on the fried cod that was in my taco, I would assume the fish and chips are pretty good. I would come back for those two items. The Queen of Reseda ordered the Chilean sea bass. It was cooked perfectly and she really liked it. I had a bite, good stuff. It was also $ 29.50. She didn’t pay attention to the posted prices on a little white board by the front door. No biggie, but we typically don’t drop that kind of coin on lunch let alone at such a casual restaurant. Good luck to Sabra Fish Grill. I get dragged to the Collection often by the Queen of Reseda and her Daughters. I’m sure we will check them out again at some point.

I had to really think about the star rating. I wanted to at least give it a 4. BUT… The more I compare to local fish spots that we love and comparing the prices, the more I’m leaning towards less stars. I ordered the grilled jumbo shrimp with lemon lime aioli. With 2 sides. Brown rice and plantains. Husband ordered the beer battered cod wrap with 1 side. Rosemary potatoes. And then ordered a ceviche(fish) tostada. My grilled shrimp with the aioli were bomb! I loved it! Cooked perfectly and paired perfectly with one of their habanero cream sauces. Brown rice was brown rice. Plantains were I think a dessert. Because they were sweet. I was thinking of Cuban style plantains… So I didn’t care for them. I probably should of asked. Ceviche was bland. It looked like they slapped it on our tray and added a tostada shell and boom that’s it. It wasn’t that expensive so I guess it was just okay. Cod wrap was good actually! The beer batter was crunchy and the fish was well cooked. Not bad for $ 8 with the side. But we’ve had better beer battered fish for less. So it was good but not great. Overall, it’s good. It’s convenient because we live near. I just think it’s not worth the price. I can go to «Lure» or Kabuki and get Chilean Seabass for waaaay less than $ 30. The shrimp was $ 20 and got me hooked to try it again. It’ll take us a few trips here to see if we really love it. Right now it’s just okay.

Solid 2 stars. Ate here yesterday, it is fairly new, however I don’t think that gives a place much of a slack, because that’s why there’s a thing called soft opening /dry runs. ***** The Good: it’s conveniently located at The Collection, a good addition to it’s restaurants that goes beyond bar foods. It’s a lighter option compared to that of other restaurants around the area. And it’s Seafood! Something The Collection(surprisingly) didn’t have for a while considering it’s relatively by the water. You get to «Build Your Own Fish» choose your marinade and sides which gives me basically«what I want» for the most part. ***** The Bad: Not too fond of the whole restaurant set up. The whole«fish grill /kitchen» took over half of the space resulting to a very tight wiggle space for eaters. There are a row booths and handful of tables inside and a couple of patio seating but overall it was a little claustrophobic to my liking. Don’t even try bringing a stroller to this place. Not going to work. If you’re sitting out, let this be a fair warning that it gets pretty breezy in that area and they do not have windbreakers or heat lamps out, no not even one. Plan your garb accordingly. Lol. The service: yea yea I know it’s new it’s new. But other restaurants have had smooth transitions. It can be done! And we didn’t go opening day anyway. But I digress. The service we had was ambivalent, our server, was awkward and seemed out of place. It was also(un)fairly slow. He sat us down but took our drink orders 10mins after. Then it was another 20mins to get our apps. Another 20mins from apps to entrée, forever to get my card back after the bill was literally just dropped off by our less than friendly server. To be fair, he checked on us once. Hey gotta give credit where credit is due right. ;) They need more training. It’s especially more frustrating because I was outside and freezing and it’s taking forever for everything. The Menu: as in literally the menu they have. I understand that it’s fish and sometimes it all depends on Market Price. But it’s not like they’re selling fresh oysters or uni like in SB. It’s more mainstream fish. I think it’s a bit, no I take it back, it’s a lot cumbersome to go inside the restaurant to find out the price for BYOF — price not listed in their menu, beware. ***** The Ugly: And so kiddos we’ve come to this. It breaks my heart(but broke my wallet more) to have to say this. But it’s The Food. Dun dun duuuuun! It’s not atrociously bad! However for the price I paid, I would rather go to Brophy Bros and look over the dolphins in my heat lamped booth seat(okay okay that’s the last I’ll mention that lol) On a more serious note though. Clam Chowder: I would say try this at your own risk. I like my chowder chunkier with the clams and potatoes. This tasted like a canned heated chowder with croutons, the clams were minced & the potatoes were barely there. And the broth? Was a bit too salty for my liking. For the $$ they charge for it. Yikes. No thank you. I would head over to Whole Foods next time if I want a quick chowder fix or BB if I’m REALLY craving one. Seared Ahi Tuna was over cooked and dry. Which was sad because really. I know it’s difficult getting an even sear it’s not even that. But it was overworked killing the«juiciness”/oiliness that an almost raw fish has. Halibut was actually cooked average. The caveat? It costs $ 23! Holy fishy smokes! That’s the same amount we pay at a nice seat down restaurant with twice the flavor and a bigger size! It was nice to try. It wasn’t THAT bad. However, for $ 60, I’m not inclined to go back. There’s just simply better choices out there, with better service and ambiance, calling a spade a spade.
