They don’t deserve a star. there truck broke down and they were two hours late and I ended paying more. wouldn’t recommend them to my worst enemy

Peace of Mind? More like a Piece of Sh*t! I seriously had a horrible experience and I’m just glad that they didn’t damage my property or my place any more than they did and they didn’t charge me as much as they guy tried to because I got aggressive and called my lawyer to challenge all the hidden fees.
First the hidden fees — When I placed the reservation on the phone, the lady gave me a price quote of $ 210 for 3 hours minimum. She said that if I needed to get my TV wrapped by them, they would charge me extra (totally agreed) but that everything else would be included. Then when they get there and start wrapping up my matresses and I hear one of guy tell the other to keep track of the material for billing, so I pull him aside and he tells me that wrapping isn’t included so that they were going to charge me an additional $ 50. I told him that I didn’t think it was necessary for the wrapping and didn’t want them to do it. After he said that it’s company policy to wrap it in case of damage, I said that I would sign a waiver acknowledging that I didnt’ want them to wrap it because I didn’t think it was necessary. Nonetheless, then I saw that I was going to get nickeled and dimed, I got these guys on the road as soon as possible.
When they arrive at the final spot and we go over the bill, my $ 210 quote went up to $ 400 — The original $ 210, plus the wrapping of the TV (agreed), the wrapping of the matresses (which the guy took one off the billing because I was challenging him on it) and for the double drive time. Now, when I placed my reservation, I was told that I was not going to be charged the additional drive time if the pick up and drop off of the job took place within the 3 hours minimum. So when the guy tried to charge me for it even though we were within the 3 hours, I challenged him on it because of what his rep, Mary, told me over the phone. I signed the bill just to get him to go get his partner to go get my stuff and I told him that I would call the offices the next day to challenge the billing (which I’m going to do after I finish this review) and he said that if Mary had told me that, it wouldn’t matter anymore because we took too long arguing about the billing so now the job was going to exceed the 3 hours. WTF!!! Are you serious!!! First he said that he was charging me the drive time because it’s not included and then he said that if it was included it no longer applies because I held him up from helping unload the items?! What a f***en scam!!! At that point, I just wanted these guys out of there especially after I saw some of the damage my items got (I’ll get to that shortly).
ACTUAL TIME OF WORK — First, the movers were 45 minutes late and then they start charging you for the work as soon as the first guy starts moving stuff but then the second guy spends the next 15 – 20 minutes talking to you about all their forms at the beginning and at the end of the job, so he doesn’t really get to do much moving. So the actual «work time» you get from a two-​person crew is more like 1 ½ workers since the other guy spends part of the time talking to you.
PROPERTY DAMAGE — One of the first things they moved were my weights and the guy dropped them almost immediately, damaging my set of Bowflex adjustable dumbbells that aren’t cheap. When they arrived at the new location and actually got to inspect them, my dumb bells were scratched badly and the base had dings on them, like if they were manhandled. These are weights that are 3 years old and in mint condition before they touched them. Now, they look like if some kids threw them around. They also damaged the back of my sofa, scratched the wooden floor at my new place and made a small dent into one of the walls. Now I’m going to have to file a claim with their company and see if I can get them to cover the damages to the building because then I would be responsible for those damages.
Next thing, they stack the items in the wrong order, making the drop off of some items more difficult at the first location than expected, even though I organized the items so that they could be stored accordingly. When we were at my brother’s house dropping off those items, one of the guys sits down to eat some chips while the other guy is securing some things. I call him out on it and I’m like «I don’t mean to sound like a d*ck, but can’t you help him get the other things in order since I know that I’m getting charged for your time on the clock.» They weren’t too happy with that.
At the end of the drop off, I just had them drop things off wherever they could just to get them out of my hair. As I signed off on the drop off forms, I went over each item signed in detail. The guy, Luis, was visibly upset that I wasn’t just signing everything without reading it and making sure that I didn’t sign away my first born to him and his partner.
I already have calls in to major news scam investigators and plan to tell my story on the news soon.

WORST COMPANY EVER!!! The should shut their doors and do everyone a big favor. Everyone that works there is rude and unprofessional. Original quote was $ 3500 and had to pay $ 6000 + to get my stuff moved. Lots of broken stuff, scuffed up walls in new house, broken thermostat in new house, and lost some of our things. Every box marked fragile or glass was loaded on to the truck under all the other boxes. I even had a wardrobe box with all our good clothes in it end up being crushed down to the size of a small box because it had a table stacked on top of it??? I could go on forever about how bad they are. Even the driver of the subcontracted truck was surprised at how the trailer was loaded. That is a good point to make also, they do not employ any drivers for more than local moves and do not even have their own trucks. After our stuff was packed in one truck they moved it to another trailer (without letting us know) and had a subcontractor bring it cross country. The subcontractor was more professional and nice than anyone that works at that company.

clothes washer and dryer (who loads these upside down in a truck!!!)

Personalized Louisville Slugger bat from family vacation.
Air compressor
Cisco router that was packed into a box with other items and that is the only thing missing from the box???
We even ended up with someone’s original print and they said «o well». I would like to return it to the owner, but don’t know how to do it and this company said they don’t care about that.

The worst possible move EVER! — DON’T EVER GO WITH THESE GUYS!!! :(
Peace of Mind was very convincing the outset — when soliciting my business. In reality very very sloppy — unqualified and inexperienced movers; threw my items in boxes — no rhyme or reason to the boxes, no labeling, could not communicate clearly in english.
Prior to the weekend of the scheduled delivery (02/​18/​2012) I had asked the woman in charge of delivery to call me — confirming it. «I promise I’ll call «she said on Thursday the 17^th of February» — there was no call returned — the driver of the moving truck called the morning of the 18^th and indicated he was on the way. I was totally unprepared — Peace of Mind did not accept credit cards or checks. It had to be cash. So I indicated that the next day or another day would be better. The driver said he would call me back — he never did. That same night (at 08:30pm at night!) Peace of Mind called me, threatening to «store» my items (at a cost to me) unless I agreed to accept deliver at 09:30pm at night (!) on the 18^th of February. I had to desperately head out to go get the cash from a late night ATM.
When the delivery arrived many items were either lost or damaged, the re-​assembling of the furniture (per the agreement) did not happen. The driver left without assembling many of the items.
Damage List:
1) BIke (lost)
2) Filing Cabinet — dented
3) Coffee Table — damaged/​dented
4) Dresser — all legs broken!
5) Chairs — legs missing (cannot use!)
6) Book shelf holders missing (cannot use!)
7) Broken urban rebounder (cannot use!)
And the true cost was 2000.00 more than the estimate! Unbelievable.

: (Not a good experience at all. HIDDEN FEES! Scuffs on our NEW house walls! And broke a light switch plate! Ugh. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.

If I could give this company a negative score, please believe me I would. My moving experience with them was hellish. I’d rather have my wisdom teeth removed again than deal with these people. Here is the rundown of what you will get with them:
Non responsiveness.
Immensely delayed shipments
Dramatically inaccurate time estimates
Rude staff, rude drivers
Hidden, outlandish extra charges.
Inconsiderate delivery times
Moving your own stuff into your house/​apartment.
I was given the run around by the people at this company regarding when my shipment would arrive. I received estimates of arrival that were constantly wrong and being changed. The woman who was my contact was hard to reach, she would send an e-​mail when she didnt want to talk to you but then not reply to them when you tried to reach her.
Then, when the driver finally got to my city he tried to charge me an extra 250 for a truck that was smaller, this ended up being documented but was hardly explained in an up front and candid manner. Once I got the guy to finally show up at my place, at 8:30pm even though he told me the day before it would be between 3 and 4, he arrived with no help to move my stuff from his truck up the 2 flights of stairs to my apartment. I had to carry half of my stuff (or risk having to be up until after midnight waiting for him to move my things into the apartment).
When it came time to pay him, he told me I could only pay in cash (when the stuff was picked up I used my credit card, why was it disallowed on delivery). Aside from having to move my own stuff into the apartment and the driver being late to deliver my stuff, when I received it, a lot of my things were damaged. I have a dent in my wooden desk top, my bed frame has been scratched to hell from the moving truck, and my bed was not wrapped so it arrived extremely dirty. The bed was particularly alarming because they wrapped it when it was picked up. They also wrapped all the pieces of the bed frame. When the pieces arrived, none of them were wrapped and they were all damaged.
Aside from just poor service this company will also charge you for having to «walk long distances» and «go up more than 7 steps». I imagine that is somewhat reasonable, but on top of poor service it was really just the last straw.
Find another company, do not put your belongings into these peoples care because they will not treat you or your things with respect. (I got a glimpse into the moving truck when I had to move my own stuff, and I can tell you the way they transport things is an atrocity.)
Please learn from my mistakes and do not give these people your money or business.

If you want headaches, use this company! We were told there was a special; 3 hours for the price of 2. When the movers showed up, they said they know of no such agreement.
Additionally we were promised a set time: 1:30pm. As we were driving 7 hours to help our college kid move, the timing was important. The day before they called and said it would be between 12 and 2. So we had to leave 1−½ hour early (5:30am). They didn’t show up until 3:40…
Basically the movers were great guys; hard working, careful, all you could hope for.
The corporate staff were awful. False promises, difficult to reach. Charging 1.5x for driving time. Trying to charge you for every piece of tape they used (moving pads free, but then required to tape the moving pads, for which they wanted to charge.).
Our advice; find another mover…
