Ordered the BBQ beef plate. The beef was rubbery and flavorless. Only upside is that they do have 99 cent musubis on Mondays

This place deserves 5 stars for food, it’s the one star service that needs serious improvement. The girl at the cash register is so rude both in person and over the phone. She stands there in front of you texting on her phone while you’re waiting for her, she thinks putting napkins away is more urgent than taking your order, and she forgot to put my phone order in today so when I arrived, my ticket was not even on the line to be made yet. On top of that, as if it wasn’t already enough to ruin my experience, while she was bagging my order FINALLY, she was taking a personal call just gabbing away and forgot to include my Katsu sauce for my chicken KATSU. Good thing I checked and asked for some… This isn’t the first time this employee has made a bad impression on me either. She obnoxiously yells in a very small restaurant and has a foul mouth at a family oriented establishment. It’s a shame L&L is represented by this employee because their food is amazing.

I used to like it but last couple of times I’ve gone their food quality has really gone downhill. Their BBQ beef tastes more like BBQ liver and their chicken was horrible. My wife who is a big supporter agreed with me on the BBQ beef but she still enjoyed the BBQ chicken. I hope it’s just a temporary quality control issue and not a permanent thing because I used to really like this place as a convenient place to get a Hawaiian BBQ mixed plate

Came here today with family and we ordered the family special. We were 3 adults and one child and we had plenty of food left over. So much food I could not believe it. If you are a meat eater you will love this place. Meat galore. Chicken, beef, and pork. Coconut shrimp is also on the menu. The Katsu chicken was very good. Tender and light. The BBQ beef had great flavor and the meat was cut up in decent bite sized pieces and I did not come across any fat pieces. Which made me happy. The macaroni was good and rice was sticky. If you are wanting to carb up and protein up, come here. The place is small. The tables have writing over them. I don’t know if the owner does not want to replace them or if he/she likes the look. I personally don’t like it and think the restaurant could use a slight make over.

We were craving some kalbi ribs and it’s been a while so we decided to go to L and L Hawaiian BBQ. The got the BBQ combo($ 9.95) and a side of kimchee(.99) The combo comes with two small mounds of rice and a small mound of potato salad. The BBQ meat was delicious as so we’re the rice and potato salad. The server was friendly. The lower rating was based on this restaurant is really dirty. The floor grout is black the tables were sticky even after being wiped off. The floors and baseboards were beyond filthy. I don’t even want to know what it looks like in the back if that’s what it looks like in the front. I don’t like to rate that low especially if the food is good but I can’t get myself to go back until they clean this place up.

Friendly staff giving out some aloha. Quick service despite it being very crowded when I visited. I though portions were very large(enough for 2 people). Bad news is my beef dish was overcooked and beef was very low quality, grizzle. Will not return.

Always fresh and delicious. Love to grab a bowl of noodle soup with chicken on those cold and windy days. Vegetables are fresh and crispy, quality has never wavered and we eat here often.

I’ve been to many L&L locations but this one was the worst. I ordered the BBQ mix(I always do), waited quite a while for my food. The portions were really small. The rice scoops were small, the portion of mac salad was small, the chicken was a small piece and the short ribs was basically just the bones. I usually can’t finish and take a scoop of rice some bbq meat and the ribs home. Had to eat it all to be satisfied. Don’t think I’ll go here again.

Love the $ 0.99 mushabi they have on Mondays. Something new we didn’t know about. Or maybe it’s a SoCal thing they we don’t have in Nocal. Very delicious with friendly staffs

The food that I had was really good and there was excellent customer service. No complaints in those departments. I just couldn’t believe how filthy the place was! My 15 month old was walking around for ten minutes and his feet were black! You could see built up scum in the corners and on the walls. So gross! Please clean your store!

I love coming here for Musubi Mondays and get the Chicken Katsu Musubi, I cannot get enough of the katsu sauce! The regular portion boxes are a bit too big for me, so I lean towards the mini ones more. It’s a very tight space in there so I usually get it to go or eat outside.

That Mac tho. They not only have the best BBQ plate, but they have amazing sides. The food has lots of flavor and offers very large portions for the money. If you are expecting Memphis BBQ, than you should not go here… it is Hawaiian style, much sweeter, and different flavors. Do not compare this to some crap BBQ chain. Go, and I promise you will not regret it. Not sure what to order? Ask. The staff is really cool.

I have never been here and won’t be back. I had their mix bbq plate. The meats were over cooked and chewy. The macaroni was bland, to much mayo and barely cool. It is hard to believe this would be a choice for a meal.

What a great place for catering. The owner and his staff helped me for a party of 50. This was the best value I could find. I had a lot of trouble with Q Q hawaiian bbq and the other place on saviers rd. This was the friendliest place and the price they told me was the price they gave me. They didnt try to upsell me after I called back. The food was awesome and all the guest loved the food. There was more food than we expected and the portions was enough for alot more guests. 2 of the guest are all ready to place orders for catering. This might become a go-to place for catering for me and my company. Please ask for Andre. He took care of us really well. And I will always visit when in the area.

Food and service is great! I usually go for the L&L Hawaiian BBQ Mix®(chicken, short ribs & beef) but decided to go for their saimen(beef noodle soup). That soup was so good! The cashier helped me with what is good and what is good to try which is a plus for me. Being knowledgeable about what the company is about/or what their selling tells me about how much they care about their job. I’d seriously be lost here if she hadn’t explained certain items they had on their menu. Kudos to you! One thing that almost had me change my mind about eating here was that they dont have anything that is «lite» or healthy. The food here is heavy and more on the side of comfort food.

So if you are familiar with Puck’s Alley in Honolulu by UH, you’ll remember they had one of the original L&L’s in that location: a true hole in the wall. This place desires to be the mainland equivalent, but it’s not as «rustic»… And not as good. The interior is not as fresh as other locations, with special credit going to the name-carving on the dining tables. At the end of the day, you will no doubt get your plate lunch fix here. Unfortunately my BBQ chicken was a little over cooked and the Mac salad«scoop» was about 3 rounded tablespoons. The saimin was really good, and popular the day I dined here. Not many tables here either, but I give them kudos for outdoor dining! I’m glad the are here, but recommend that they freshen things up a bit! I can’t say that this place has the same charm as a classic hole in the wall like Puck’s Alley.

L&L Hawaiian BBQ used to be good back in 2006 but I don’t know what happened(probably because almost a decade has passed lol). My mom and I came here after doing a little damage at TJmaxx. Customer service was quick and friendly so it was a great start. My mom ordered the mini chicken katsu and I had the mini short ribs. The chicken katsu was nice and crispy while the short ribs were flavorful. And I was really excited for the macaroni salad. However, the after taste of it now is really uncomfortable. It just seemed okay and maybe I was just starving so it tasted deeply delicious lol it was overall ehh. I wouldn’t go back again.

I can actually say I’ve never had«bad» Hawaiian BBQ. I’m no expert but it seems about as hard to mess up as toast. I use to drive all the way to Q&Q in Ventura and was happy when L&L opened up much closer to me. It’s a small place, maybe room for 10 inside but the weather in Oxnard is pretty nice year round and there’s a shared outdoor seating area with neighbors… Starbucks, Pick Up Stix, Subway, Jamba and Ozeki Noodle. I really like the location because I LOVE options… like being able to enjoy my Hawaiian BBQ w/a Banana Berry smoothie or letting my daughters get a sub if they want without driving to two different locations. Andre, the owner, is a real cool guy and another supporter of the youth program I work for. As for the food, what can I say? Chicken, beef, katsu, short ribs… you really can’t go wrong here. The macaroni salad is awesome but not great if your on a diet since it can easily make an 800 calorie lunch, 1500 with the scoop of a spoon. Try it or Diet Final Word Convenient location + good food + community oriented owner = Must Try Other food options in the same area BJ’s Restaurant & Brewery In & Out Chipotle

All I wanted was a Pepsi. When you order a large Pepsi here they charge $ 2.91 The store was clean, there was no line, I went to subway to get a sandwich for myself and chipotle to get a Burrito for my wife. She wanted a Pepsi, not Coke, so I went looking for a place near by and saw the Pepsi machine outside the window. I went in and ordered a large Pepsi. I didn’t really pay attention to the price until I got the receipt. $ 2.91. That’s excessive, I’ll never go back.
