Fresh Patch

I love how easy this is to use! It smells fine, my dog pees and poops almost immediately when she sees it, and it’s super fast to receive. My only complaint is how many we go through — I wish they lasted longer!

This is real grass! I live in a high-​rise in Chicago and the last thing I or my pup Oscar want to do is go for a walk in the middle of winter! Fresh Patch gives us choice. Now we go for our walks to walk! Not just to potty! Oscar loves his grass

Loved using the fresh patch. Very useful while in an appartment. My dog wouldn’t poop on it very often. Still convinient because we had this while she was a puppy and she peed ALL the time lol

We had to rent a house during the time we were building our new home and Fresh Patch was a life safer! They were always prompt, and courteous and offered an awesome service. Our house is finished now, and the fur-​kids have a giant fresh-​patch (yard) to run around in, but if the doggies decide that it’s too cold outside, or they want to keep their feet dry when it rains, we may be reinstating our deliveries! For people whose dogs have no access to outside, or even if you can’t always get them outside in a timely manner… Fresh Patch is a no-​brainer.

I have a rescue Pug who just cannot hold it while we are not in the house. If we are home she will go all night, but once we go to work she pees and/​or poops on the floor. I have tried wee-​wee pads but she tears them up and attempts to eat them. When I saw this on Shark Tank, I thought it was a great idea but would never get it– but then we adopted this dog and we definitely love it! I get the small size and the box is absolutely sturdy enough– I take the lid and actually place it under the box to reinforce it and make it a little strong– and the box is lined with something (wax or plastic) which prevents the pee from leaking through the box– but also the sod is VERY thick– it would take a lot of urine to soak through. We do not use it as her only pee/​poop source– we leave it in a Large crate and so she has the fresh patch and her bed in the crate. We tried leaving her gated off in the kitchen with the patch but she would not use it, once we put her in the crate with it she started using it. I even forgot to close the crate once and I saw her go in there and poop while I was home! I also was able to keep the grass for about 4 weeks, I made sure to bring it to my sink and give it a spritz of water about once a week to make it last longer and it really worked! I could definitely see a difference in the sod after spritzing it, and like I said the sod was so thick the water didn’t even leak through! For those negative commenters, I think for people who use this as their ONLY source for a dog to pee/​poop you’re going to have an issue BUT you really should be walking your dog at least once a day (as long as they are physically capable), how would you feel if you could never leave your house?! As for the shipping– ours took about a week, so when I took it out of the box it was a little smelly, some of the grass was dying I think, but it is coming from California so I let it air out and put it in the sun and the smell went away. Gave it a spritz or two of water and it was good to go. For what we need it for it is AMAZING, she can relieve herself when we are gone. I think we will continue to re-​order as needed as opposed to the recurring since we have a vacation and holidays coming up where we won’t need it for weeks at a time. Overall, we really love this product!

My dog is obsessed! So convenient for apartment living!

We have been using Fresh Patch for 10 months now. It is a perfect product for anyone who lives in a condo. Ours is on our balcony and we appreciate being able to let our dog out without always having to ride the elevator downstairs and do a full walk about. Using Fresh Patch has not confused our puppy at all. She knows to use Fresh Patch on our balcony, and then when she walks with us she looks for the normal dog places. Thanks for a great product. And, the customer service from Hannah is always perfect.

I think I would probably love it, if I could actually get what I ordered. I ordered the aluminum tray and the XL patch at a total of $ 191. That was five days ago. My FedEx tracking shows that only a label has been created, but no shipment has ensued. I have left VM messages as they do not answer their calls and sent two emails, but no response. WTF???

I love Fresh Patch. I used to get sod from the hardware store and it would last me a week and it would be dried and dead. My picky dog is a diva, but loved fresh patch. I get the XL monthly for her and it comes full and healthy. The patch lasts me all month too! The shipment is always quickly shipped right to my door. Their customer service is always helpful and I love the idea! Try it out, it’s so worth it for the convenience!

Even after trying to cancel my subscription online multiple times and then having to spend 15+ mins. canceling over the phone, was just charged again. Spent another 10 mins. «canceling» again today in the middle studying for the bar exam. No apology, and had to beg agent to send me a confirmation email this time. What company doest send automatic emails when changes are made to your account? Overall, Fresh Patch not only doesn’t work, but dealing with the company will be everything but a convenience in your life.

My senior dog had leg surgery scheduled Friday June 26 and I needed the grass for that weekend.
–June 17 evening — I set up delivery of TWO XL patches for the shipment to come every two weeks (120 bucks a month).
–June 20 — I didn’t get a confirmation email about my delivery, so I emailed support at fresh patch to make sure they received my order.
–June 22 — Received email back from support saying they are sending it TODAY.
–June 23 — Still hadn’t received the generic confirmation email saying it was delivered and on it’s way, so I emailed support again to make sure. At this point I was getting frantic and felt I was running out of time. I emailed saying if it hasn’t been sent I need to cancel and find grass elsewhere.
–June 24 — Sent another email inquiring about the status and asked for a tracking number. I called their customer service that morning, no one answered, it went to voicemail. I left a message inquiring about my order.
I finally get a response, a call around 4pm saying they had already sent it and I should’ve received it by now. COMPLETE LIE. She reluctantly said she will send it AGAIN and do the 2 day rush delivery. No apology for the delay, nothing.
–June 29 — 5 days after the 2 day rush delivery promise I finally received the grass. But, due to the delay and needing it sooner my husband had already gone to Lowe’s and found the same exact grass, same size (4×2) for sale. And get this, for two patches of grass at Lowes it cost less then 10 dollars!!! Compare that to 60 dollars Fresh Patch charges.
–June 30 — I cancelled my membership. They never apologized or offered any sort of refund. Just an email saying «This message confirms that we have cancelled your membership»
I really think if they would’ve owned up to the fact they dropped the ball on my shipment, NOT lied, apologized, offered a free shipment maybe, this review would be a lot different. It was how they handled it that makes me so angry!
— You want to pay 6X as much for the same grass you can get at your nearest home improvement store and deal with the crummy Fresh Patch customer service? Then this is the product for you.

SO far so good. I have ordered from both now. The customer service is way better on FP. Hannah especially shined in my opinion. I think they both use voip, which can be difficult to understand, at times, but even the IRS uses it. The customer satisfaction from is paramount. Not so much DL. It seems to me to be a second act to the order takers who are very matter of fact, and seem to be more interested in their own agenda. They charge more for shipping depending on where you live even though its FREE? AND if the grass arrives brown, it’s only because it went through the hottest of states on its way to you… Ca, NM, Okla, Ill, NY 4 – 5 days (all one trip !)etc. The ground shipment can sit for a weekend in a fedex warehouse, or depending on how many cities it goes through to be cheaper by ground will determine your product condition on arrival. They claim it could arrive late? Why? Because it’s fedex ground which only pickup and delivers certain days if the week. Not great for perishables. Also the tray is sooooo flimsy. The plastic is similar to that which is used as, a vacuform insert in stuff you buy and then dispose that very plastic like bubble wrap .Only its less sturdy. This is supposed to hold pee?. I don’t see that’s it’s sturdy enough to hold the grass much less the pee or even a 7lb dog on the largest size they have. For the price you pay you would expect a plastic at least on par with a Midwest insert! I will post more as I continue with FP. Clearly at this point and in the future as, I have been informed, the service and shipments will improve even more. I hope their tray is better than DL.

I live in Las Vegas and like this service. I would have submitted 5 stars except that I have received two orders of nearly dead grass and constantly have issues creating an account (note: my dogs still used the dead grass so I did not complain). I think these issues are most likely limited and I would recommend them even though I gave only 3 stars. I figure you should try for yourself and see if the same issues occur.
Note: My dead grass issues were not in hot weather months

This company definitely hit the nail on the head. It’s pricing structure is easy to understand, and it’s customer service has been helpful when problems arise.
My girlfriend and I have been a customer since last year and so far, service has been close to perfect. As far as the product goes, most of the time, the Fresh Patch delivers to the doorstep via FedEx. Fresh Patch has been a real blessing to us because we live in an apartment complex and it’s not easy to wake up in the morning and take her out to the park to have her use the restroom.
Something I do want to note is that sometimes the grass looks a bit dead, but that doesn’t happen too often. Just something I think can be corrected by extra examinations before shipping =).
All in all, if you live in an apartment, or any kind of housing and would like to make using the restroom for your pet easier on you, I would suggest trying out Fresh Patch. =)

I saw Fresh Patch on Shark Tank and thought it was such a brilliant idea because I have a Mini Schnauzer and we live on the 3^rd floor. Sometimes I just cant take him down right away so I signed up for Fresh Patch. I ordered the small patch according to his weight 20 lbs or less. When it came to my house I was excited, I put it in my patio and when my dog tried to go, he didn’t have enough room to smell and do circles. I called to see if I could get the XL instead. Fresh Patch answered my email right away and was very nice, they sent me an XL three days later. The bad thing is that it does not come in a box like the small patch. This was a big bummer because now I have to put pee pads under the grass and this is basically what I was doing with fake grass and wanted to avoid. This essentially turned into $ 40 grass, nothing special that makes it worth it. The special thing about the small patch is that is comes in a plastic film lined tray and easily disposable. Now I will have a giant leaky piece of grass with pee pads. The metal tray they sell is over $ 100. Im a college student and on a budget for the amount I will spend on my dogs potty necessities. I realized, I can do this… I can get grass and put it on my patio. I called Home Depot and they sell the same piece of grass (2X4) for only $ 4!!! So unfortunately I did not stay with Fresh Patch. Maybe if the XL came int he same box as the small patch, because then the disposability of it makes it worth it, but not the XL, its just grass. Instead I go to Home Depot every week and for $ 4 I get new grass.

I used to use Fresh Patch when I didn’t have a backyard, ie lived on the 27^th floor of a high rise in Brickell and it was a lifesaver!!! When my dog was a puppy it was so hard to bring him out a zillion times a day to do his business and the pee pads just weren’t his thing. So, I discovered Fresh Patch in all its amazing-​ness. They deliver it right to your door, convenient, and it is actual grass which helps your dog associate where he is actually supposed to be going to the bathroom. I just stuck it out on my balcony, and was good to go. I would say the ONLY downside to the Fresh Patch is disposal. It isn’t the easiest thing to get to the trash can as it gets a little heavy after being used, but I still think it’s def. worth it if you don’t have a convenient spot to let your dog out and it’s very reasonably priced. You can do a set price for the month with a reoccurring charge each month. Loved it, and would totally use it again if I no longer had a backyard to use!

Went to visit some friends in Miami this weekend, brought our new puppy along. They had this stuff in their condo for their own dog and mine took to it immediately. Really clever product, I only wish they were state-​wide right now. Oh well, I would still recommend it.

We started using Fresh Patch after a recommendation from a friend. We loved the service instantly. We loved that we could pay online with PayPal the minute we decided to sign up. The convenience is unbeatable, we love that our older dog that has more frequent needs can go out many more times a day without involving our personal time. We also love that we no longer ride the elevator up and down to the 11^th floor 10 times a day. We have been very happy with Fresh Patch and can recommend them to everyone. They bring a fresh patch every Thursday. Also of note, our building is very dog friendly, which means that the grassy areas are heavily used by pets. When we used to take her outside, she would have smelly paws from the high concentration of urine. No longer. Thanks Fresh Patch!
