It’s a strange little food court I wish it was remodeled especially because it’s so busy all the time. Customer service is good. I love the sushi. Spicy tuna salad is the best!

I saw good reviews here and decided to try this place. my boyfriend and I got sick after eating tuna here. salmon and albacore was delicious, eel handroll and eel and avocado roll was ok, but tuna tasted so bad, we ordered six of it but couldnt even finish it, and we were right, we started feeling sick that night. like really sick. Someone else also mentioned tuna being nasty taste on the review here so its not just us. I wish if I had read the review more carefully. Everything was fifty percent off since its tenth anniversary and food besides tuna was good. Service was good too, server was friendly and quick to bring us food. I would have put four starts if we didnt have bad experience from tuna but because of it we will never be coming back here unfortunally.

I had conveniently forgotten to defrost meat for dinner so it seemed like the perfect time to suggest going out for sushi. So glad I bookmarked this place. Don’t be fooled by the exterior. It’s located in a food court but the quality is fantastic! We ordered their Fisherman’s, Dynamite and Rainbow roll as well as the gyoza, Albacore and Yellowfin sushi. Delicious! My bf was disappointed they didn’t have any Toro, his first choice. Prices are very reasonable, their staff is very friendly and attentive. The bar wasn’t busy, there were only two others seated when we sat down. The next two to sit down were my cousin and his daughter! I love seeing family, it’s always a nice surprise. My cousin raved about their salmon, he said it’s the best he’s had. He’s a foodie so I take his word for it.

I give this place 10 stars if I could. Best prices, best service and they serve beer woho! It’s a little hidden but I am glad I found them. We will definitely come back again for more rolls. The dinning area is ok but who cares, the best bento boxes

It doesn’t look like much from the outside and inside is a little frightening with the mall food court style seating, but this was the best freshest sushi if ever had. Stayed here for a week and ate here half the time. Friendly staff too! Just get take out and eat somewhere else. Good and easy for kids too as there are fried kid friendly foods in same«food court»

Definitely very random setting. I’ve driven by this spot numerous times on my way to eat elsewhere, but never stopped. Yesterday, I finally decided to have dinner there and brought my niece. We shared all our orders: baked mussels, seaweed salad, Hawaiian roll and monster roll. Ate everything and could have gone for some more, but didn’t want to overdo it. Everything was delicious. We specially loved the baked mussels. It was honestly the best I’ve had around town. Service: on point. They don’t hover around you, refill your drinks when they notice the glass is half empty and check on you just the right amount of times. Friendly staff and you don’t have to ask for anything because they just seem to know when you need something. I’m not even indifferent to the food court school lunch like setting. It works for them.

Love their sushi! Found this place through a co-worker last year. Right near my house and I was going to other places for«blah» sushi! Anyway, I come here at least 4x a month and it’s always great. Staff is friendly, except for the Asian sushi maker, he looks like he’s in a bad mood ALL the time! Love love love their Fisherman’s Roll. Their prices are great. Place is a little crowded in the evening but no big deal.

Satisfied the sushi craving FORSURE!!! Never disappoints ;) P.S rated 4 stars because we have not tried all foods. Buen ProvechO …

Sushi wasn’t bad… place kinda dirty more of cafeteria style, Noisy and bright like a mall. Seems to busy for such a few waitresses.

2 years later and after a 2 year stint in the Bay Area this is still my favorite place for sushi! I’ve read some of the reviews and I have to say, they’re quite snooty(the reviewers). Complaining about the ambience and questioning the cleanliness because it’s a food court? Come on! Yes it’s a food court, yes it’s a bit loud. No the chairs and tables are not folding ones, they are not plastic. The fish is fresh, the spicy tuna is awesome and the servers are usually very kind and quick. It’s a hole in the wall and I wouldn’t have it any other way!(Oxnard might be a «poor man’s Dana Point», but at least we don’t have a bunch of tourists everywhere all the time.)

After a nice day at the beach, my date and I were craving food and we come across Fisherman’s House because it’s closeby and sushi sounded delicious! It’s a small place in the food court and one might be skeptical because food courts are a hit or miss but this sushi spot was a definite bullseye: D We were seated at the sushi bar and received fast and friendly service(probably because we were the only ones there lol). What I really liked about this place is how fresh the 3 – 4 rolls we ordered were and the feeling of intimacy since it was a cozy little sushi spot. Just thinking about my experience again makes me crave sushi right now lol I’d say this is one of my fave sushi spots in the area. Looking forward to more sushi dates here that’s for sure lol

Don’t be deterred by the cafeteria eating style, this place is great and very tasteful! I would go here again for a filling and delicious meal. Goods: BESTMISO I’VEEVERHAD, cheap(2 $) handrolls at lunchtime, fast service, clean facility, great bento box options(3 for 9 $ or 2 for 6 $) Bad: Hard to find in a sleepy strip mall

OMG I can’t believe it took me this long to write this review. I almost fear writing this review as it will give away my secret spot!!! Every week or so I get a craving for real sushi and I MUSTMUST come here for lunch. Sushi(Yes, REALSUSHI) are half off during their happy hour, which I think is during lunch. Sushi are so fresh. Totally better than going to some overpriced self-proclaimed authentic restaurant.

I would have given this place 5 stars because I love their sushi but that last 2 times I’ve gone they’ve been extremely rude and even turned us away because we arrived within 30 minutes of closing. I won’t be going back… Which is too bad because I’ve been a consistent customer to this establishment for many years…

The hidden oasis of sea food is in a simple food court at the Channel Islands Harbor. Been going here for YEARS!!! Sushi has always been on point! Best part about it is they have a fish and chip spot next to it so you can have a little of each!

Of all the sushi bars in Oxnard, we frequent this one the most. First, ya gotta get over the initial impression you have when you enter the doors to the food court it’s in. Yeah, it ain’t elegant, that’s fo’ sure! There’s a «don’t judge a book» thang going on here. If there’s no room @ the bar, no worries! Just let one of the servers know you want menus, or, you can pick up some menus, find a table, then, like«hide & seek» they search you out. You don’t have yell out«Marco» at all. Sooner than you expect, they’re at your side asking what drinks you want. Ah, the Fisherman’s House Sushi experience begins! Service is always friendly and attentive. Food prep time is shorter than you expect. Prices for this great tasting sushi are a pleasant surprise. The food court itself is open with a high ceiling and it can be loud(not at all romantic, but, perfect for groups & bringing kids). There’s a mini-arcade in one corner and a big screen TV that’s always on(usually golf or the best sports event available). As for the food, great tasting stuff! We’ve enjoyed everything on the menu @ least twice. Favorites always change(depends on taste bud positioning, I guess?!?). Right now I’m on a low-carb kick, so sashimi(8 pieces of thick, fresh, cuts) and salmon skin salad. Wife loves anything eel or albacore here, especially with ponzo sauce. The kids devour the shrimp tempura roll, the spider roll, and all the meat & noodle options. Free drink refills here, too! Mr. Jimmy is «workin’ it» here, you won’t regret paying him a visit! ASIDE: They’re right by the beach so be mindful of the breeze, especially at night! Can get little chilly.
