Date night with Bill. We came on a Friday and there was a wait so we sat at the bar. Great selection of craft beer and wine. The bacon lavosh was excellent. Our bartender, Alex, took great care of us. Will be back soon.

Amazing food! I thought it was awesome. Great service because we sat at the bar. The quarter barrel beer was delicious and had just enough hop flavor. We started with the bacon lavosh which was incredibly tasty. We then ordered a lobster roll which was also quite good. Probably not the best lobster roll I have ever eaten but definitely in the top 5. Overall Quarter Barrel has an awesome atmosphere and great food. The bar tenders are great and it’s a great place to eat and hang out at!

This is the second time I have eaten at this restaurant. Last time I had a great experience. This time it was less than ideal. Very busy because of a college event. We arrived at 1 pm and told it would be 45 min. We decided to leave, visit the art museum and come back. We came back at 2 pm and told that they were serving only snacks and lavosh! What the hell? This is not listed on their menu nor is their a sign in the restaurant. Worse yet the hostess didn’t say anything when we first arrived. I am likely not to return if this is there idea of how to run a restaurant. Disappointed to say the least.

A nice addition to the Oxford dining options is Quarter Barrel. I appreciate that it’s located one block off of high street so it’s not in the middle of the hustle. The food is fresh & they offer different options than most other Oxford establishments. I’ve had good food each time I’ve gone but my favorite is the Lavosh, which is a fancy thin pizza! It’s so light and delicious. Plus it’s great to share with a group & during happy hour(4−6pm) they’re only $ 11. They also have a great beer selection. Great choices on draft and even some others not on draft that are good. I’m always pleased when I visit and it’s one of my favorite restaurants in Oxford!

I haven’t been here very many times but every time i have gone it’s been a good time. It’s very hipster and has a good vibe about it. Every time I go I get one of the Lavosh and they are sooo good. Imagine a flat bread pizza with toppings, cheese and a balsamic glaze. They also have a good beer selection as well.

My colleagues and I walked in and were greeted by a sign that says: «Order from the bar.» Okay. Slightly confusing. No one paid us any attention until we flagged someone down. We accidentally got the hostess! Great. We were sat down and were told that our server would be with us shortly. Shortly turned out to be longly, because we got nothing for the next 15 minutes. Not even water. We flagged down the hostess, who finally sent our server over. From there, the service resumed as expected. Food came fast, though we never got our water refilled. All in all, the food was great, but the service was just a few hairs above abysmal. Oh well…

Meh. The service was curt, and unless you want a craft beer there is little choice. We arrived about 9pm and they were already closing the kitchen down. Maybe if we were there earlier it would have been better. Annoying that they were mopping the floors around tables if people who were still eating.

Stopped by here last night during our visit in Ohio. It’s a quaint spot with their own brewing equipment in the back. My husband is a big fan of craft beer so everything was good to him. I always try things off the beaten path and ordered the Death? Beer, honey and wheat ale and habanero and chipotle? Wow this was a great beer. Its spicy but it’s like eating spicy chips snd drinking beer at the same time. I wanted to order bar food but didn’t look appealing. I was happy with my spicy beer.

Went in the summer for dinner with my family. School was out so the place was not packed. Great service from a very attentive server. The food was served quickly and tasted great. Nothing fancy but it was all good.

This is actually one of the better choices for restaurants in Oxford. The first time I ate here they had a great Margarita but they had to take it off the menu because they couldn’t get the right ingredients anymore. Everyone seem to be big fans of the Lavash. And it’s good. Not great. Its a nice snack but it’s not something that will fill you up. They have really good fries and I like their Brie appetizer. I would go back again. Just wasn’t super wow’d by this place.

Pretty good, my sister and I went here for an early lunch so we combined some meal choices. She got the eggs, potatoes and toast, I went for the turkey avocado sammy. My sandwich was pretty good, definitely stuffed to the brim, so it made it a bit difficult to wrestle with on the thin bread. I swiped some of her potatoes which were phenomenal. Neat place! Pretty casual atmosphere.

This place is amazing if you can afford it. It’s and awesome place to take your parents when they are in town, but my pockets army deep enough to eat their too often. The breakfast burger is to die for and happy hour has some deals to save you $$.

Came here with a friend a few weeks ago and had dinner. It’s summer in Oxford, so it wasn’t packed like it probably is during the school year so that was definitely a plus. They have a great draft beer selection including their own brew, and a small bar area with some TVs. Food was good– Lavosh is HUGE– probably enough to feed 3– and was really crispy and had fresh ingredients. I ordered the burger which was overcooked, and not very much flavor. It wasn’t horrible, just definitely not great. Service was okay, probably students working so I didn’t expect much to begin with. I’d definitely return for the beer and the lavosh but probably wouldn’t veer away from that.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for awhile, but it’s always bananas when school is in session, especially when the weather is nice and the patio is open. My husband and I finally got to try it a few days before Christmas when Miami’s campus was a ghost town. Everything about QB is unabashedly pretentious, from the names of the martinis(classic fonts) to the unorganized bookshelves to the dim lighting. This is where you hang if you’re an angsty, overthinking English major. Luckily, both Husband and I were/are all of these things, so we fit in perfectly. This is one of the more expensive eateries in Oxford. I guess that’s to be expected when thin-crust pizza is called«lavash.» I felt so stupid saying that, I ordered«the spinach and artichoke… thing.» My husband got the salmon with Brussels sprouts and quinoa(I think that’s what the grain was). Both were good, but the proportions were all kinds of crazy. My let’s-just-call-it-a-pizza was gigantic; his entrée could have been twice as big. Yet they cost more or less the same. Both were good, though. I think they really like using balsamic vinegar here. I ain’t mad though. Oh, and my martini was a plain ol’ Cosmopolitan. You can tart it up with fancy names all you want, QB… I’m on to you. For what it’s worth, it was a nicely strong Cosmo. And they had a ton of craft beers to please my husband’s increasingly picky palate. Service… it was okay. The girl seemed new and somewhat confused. If we go back, I’d say we’d just split one of their gigantic pizza things and get a couple drinks. And maybe sit outside and watch people go to the hospital across the street.

Came here with some friends during march madness. we were able to get a seat right away. I loved the selection of martinis and craft beer. We had a flatbread pizza that was delish and economical.

This is one of just a handful of places I can go for a beer in Oxford and not feel like an old man(I’m in my mid-30’s). Sure, that has something to do with the prices. Neither beer nor food come cheaply here. That said, you get what you pay for. The beers here are good — very good. I think that’s the other reason you don’t see many college students. Yes, they have Budweiser and Miller Lite(at least, I feel like I’ve seen people drinking them here, I’m not entirely sure) but that’s not their raison d’etre. Delicious craft beet is why you go to Quarter Barrel. The food’s good, too. Try a «lavosh» — Armenian pizza, basically. Very tasty and light. The edamame is good and so are the sandwiches(at least those I’ve tried). Bear in mind that I’ve only been in here and NOT had a beer or two one time. Beer makes food taste better. But you don’t need to drink to enjoy the food at Quarter Barrel — as I said, it’s good. It’s just not why you go. Take time to ask questions about the different beers, request samples if you’re not sure and be sure to try one of the beers they brew in-house. They do well with it.

I, for one, am an avid fan of craft beers — even if craft beers cost me an arm and a leg. Most people who frequent Oxford are not interested in craft beers as much as they are interested in leaving the club sloppy after a few domestic beers and possibly a well drink or two. Being past the phase of my life where I drank nothing but Bud Light, it’s a welcomed sight to see a brewpub in Uptown Oxford, conveniently located caddy-corner from a hospital. Quarter Barrel makes their own beer, but it’s only one beer that they produce. I did not try it when I went, but I have heard good things about it. You can even see some of the brewing equipment right behind the bar, which is quite neat. Quarter Barrel has bottles of domestics and some imports, but doing so is frowned upon. The real treat is the selection of $ 5.25 draughts of craft beers from across the country. There are 4 – 7 taps(can’t remember the exact number), so it’s nothing large, but every beer I had was superb. Note that craft beers are typically rather strong, so drinkers should plan around that. The ambiance of the brewpub is excellent. Who would have thought to place a brewpub in a 19th century building adorned with shelves of books on each side? Those are impossible to find in Ohio. It’s quite obvious that this is a bar, but it feels like less of a bar than Brick Street or 45. An added bonus: this is the place the frats avoid like the plague. While the ambiance and beers were great, you have to be really patient with the bartenders sometimes. The bar is rather long and windy, so you have to practically get in the bartender’s face sometimes just to get an order. Other than that, this is a great addition to Oxford. It makes Uptown a better place for people with acquired tastes.

This is still one of the best additions to the Oxford dining/drinking scene in years. They have only house-made or craft beers on-tap, and a solid/basic wine selection. Half price bottles on Mondays. On the evening menu, I opt for one of Chef Pat’s specials, usually a fish and a pork or beef. They are the best in my opinion, apart from the burger, which still has to be the best in Oxford(a bit classier than Mac-n-Joe’s). There is a steady stream of Miami students, and it can be a bit overbearing at times. They’re here to eat and socialize, not to party, so it’s not like a college bar. It’s just that there are so many of them at times, in larger groups, due to the location by campus. The clientele is otherwise very mixed with locals, students, parents, MU staff/profs, and day-trippers.
