Our township wanted a basic mortgage survey before we’re allowed to put a fence up in our back yard. They gave us a list of surveyors and Kennedy was on it. Their quote came in $ 100-$ 400 less than every other surveyor on the list so we decided to hire them and sent in a $ 400 retainer check. Since it is the busy part of the summer we were told to expect 2 – 3 weeks before they could come out and take our measurements. It has now been 5 weeks and they still haven’t shown up. After repeated phone calls asking when to expect them, the only response I get is, «Well…we can’t really give you a date. Since everything is done outside it all depends on the weather. The rain really screws us up.» I can understand that to a certain extent, but not being able to provide even a 1 week window for service is highly unprofessional and incredibly irritating. Because of Kennedy’s delay we’ve already had to reschedule our tentative installation date for our fence. On top of this, there has been no discussion about how long it will take to get the actual survey once they’ve come and taken the measurements. My work hasn’t been completed yet and I just want to be done with this company. I’ll update this review if/when they ever show up. Update: I posted my initial review on a Friday. The following Tuesday is when the surveyors finally came out to my house. They worked for 3 hours and then came to the door to tell me they had finished all they could for that day. They were having problems locating something along our property line.(They never clearly indicated what the actual issue was.) But they assured me they’d be back to complete the work, and they had enough to get the drawing started.(Again, never indicating exactly WHEN they would be back out.) But… the 2 men doing the survey work were friendly and professional so I was happy that something was at least started. As it turned out, they came back the Friday of that same week and finished up in just a couple of hours. The courtesy of these 2 men bumped my rating of this company up a star. I bumped them up a 2nd star(to a total of 3) because it’s less than a week later and I’ve just gotten a call indicating our drawing is done. They also ended up charging us $ 50 less than what they originally quoted us. I’m not sure if that’s because the survey was easier to do, or they felt bad about the delay, but I’ll take it. In summary, once they get started they do a fine job. It’s just getting them out initially that seems to be the hard part.

They did a survey for my neighbor behind me for an public utility easement. They ran a line down between my property and my neighbors property to the right and the line wasn’t even straight it was straight at the beginning for 100 feet and shifted over 10 feet to the right at the end. Very unprofessional!
