We hired Ike in March of 2015 through Home Depot to do a master bathroom remodel. He made a good first impression and had a lot of great design ideas. Ike informed us that the entire bathroom remodel would take 1 week. After he started the project we quickly realized how disorganized and unprofessional Ike was. Most of the time we wouldn’t know when he was arriving (even though we were asking him) and when he did tell us his arrival time he would be late (sometimes by several hours). The majority of the time his crew would arrive on time and would have to wait in their cars for over an hour for Ike to show up. He had his crew sit and wait in their cars while he would go on his 1−3x/day home depot supply runs so most of the time nothing was being accomplished. He invited his girlfriend over to inspect his work one day without our permission. We saw her upstairs in our house with Ike giving her a tour. Ike would also leave most of the time without saying goodbye so we had to look out in the driveway to see if he was still there. We paid Ike half of the money up front and the other half was to be paid at the completion of the project. He quickly ran out of money and kept asking for advanced payments. I did not want to pay in advance however construction was halted because he said that he didn’t have any more money to buy supplies. We ended up giving him 2 advanced payments because he said his credit card was stolen and he only had 1 card. The whole project took 6 long weeks with Ike coming and going 5 – 7 days per week (sometimes for as little as an hour). We had a family member stay at our house for the whole 6 weeks because my wife and I were busy with our work schedules. By the end of the 6 weeks we were anxious to just get it over with even if it wasn’t 100% completed. I agreed to complete a handful of the finish work jobs because we were exhausted of having our house be open for people to travel in and out of all day (we have 2 young children). I had to install door knobs, threshold trim, painting, ceiling light, section of baseboard trim, and section of caulking. Within 2 weeks of the job being «completed» the trim above the vanity starting getting burn marks due to it being installed too closely to halogen lights and there was a leak under the sink. I contacted Ike and he didn’t respond. I reached out to him many times over the course of a month and I finally gave up. It was clear to me that Ike abandoned us even though we had a signed contract saying that he would warranty the work for 1 year. I decided to move on however 6 months later the toilet began to leak through the ceiling of the floor below. Ike did not bolt the toilet to the floor and instead glued it to the floor tiles. I called Ike and he didn’t answer. We had a plumber come out and Ike didn’t have the toilet lined up over the flange. We have tear out several section of ceiling drywall below the bathroom because it was water logged. 7 months after the «completion» I went to take a shower and no water would come out. I realized that it got below freezing over night and when I looked in the attic Ike had run the plumbing for the rainfall showerhead in the attic space. It was completed exposed without any insulation covering it and it froze and cracked. I have called an emailed Ike several times and even threatened to sue and he is not responding. I am left with a bathroom without a working toilet and without a working shower. If I could give Ike «0» stars I would. I could not be any more disappointed with his work and his moral compass. Ike is a liar and a fraud.
