Chase Lea Apartments

DON’T MOVE IN TO CHASE LEA APARTMENTS AT OWINGS MILLS. It is that simple! We lived in Chase Lea apartments in Owings Mills, MD and ended up not liking the staff and the apartment and vacated recently. The staff at the Chase lea office are worst than a bunch of liars. When we went with one issue, each staff member had 3 different things to say and every time they kept saying that is their policy. If there is a policy, everyone would be on the same page. But clearly they did not. When we moved in we had raised several requests since the apartment was handed over to us without cleaning. There were screws and broken plastics all over the carpet. They had a hanging light in the dining area with full of dead insects. Then, during middle of our stay, one night the water pipe to the washer broke and flooded the kitchen and the living room area. I had called the emergency line and it took them two hours to fix the carpet. Now they are charging me a humongous amount (around $ 300) for that. Then there is a kitchen drip pan charge. This is quite a frustrating thing. When we moved in we were told that they have the oldest hot point model stove and they don’t have new drip pans to change and let us use the stove as-​is with old drip pans. When we moved out they are charging us for that. How convenient?! They also added a bath tub and kitchen counter top damage charges even though we did not do any damage. That is not it. When we wanted to move from a single bed room apartment to a two bed room apartment within the same property we lived in, they asked for a transfer charge. I just did not understand their explanation on why we had to pay for moving within their own property. I just could not keep count on the number of times the staff entered the apartment for some inspection or other throughout our stay. I wish there is an easy and economical way to file a class action lawsuit against Morgan properties and I am very sure there will be many residents who will benefit out of it. One thing is sure, I will never return to a Morgan properties property and will make sure my friends are aware of these cheaters. The collections team at Morgan sent a threatening letter that we should pay them the money without providing any evidence and not providing any invoice on how the security deposit was applied towards any of these calculations. They sent a notice on a Friday and closed the office for a whole 10 day period and nobody at the Morgan collections is available to answer any of our questions for 10 days out of the 15 day notice period they have provided. They will simply report us to collections it seems. This is pure harassment. Run… Run Fast from any Morgan properties and particularly if you are looking at Chase Lea as an option in Owings Mills, just drive down McDonough road and there are literally more than a 100 options available that are far better than Chase Lea.
Update as of ⁶⁄₂₃ — Even after several escalations, the issue is still sitting with Morgan and they have not fully resolved it. The response I got back a couple of hours back states the exact same message the property already told and I am not sure why Morgan properties even asked me to send a mail. They still are asking for more money and it is quite frustrating to be still dealing with them even after 2 months after vacating the apartments
Update as of ⁶⁄₂₉ — Morgan properties eventually responded going back to square one by contacting their Chase Lea apartments and getting the original response all over again wasting everybody’s time. You can pretty much see Morgan properties responding to all the reviews and that’s pretty much an eye wash. I wanted to provide everyone a clear picture on how the management deals with their property residents. So, again just be beware before renting one of their properties!

My mom just committed to rent here and I must say the leasing representative Becky was just wonderful with terrific patience and customer service skills to brag about. Very nice community from what I can see, nice sized apartment and they accept animals. The community is nestled in a home owner community so I expect safety for her.
