A first-​class, family operated health and wellness store you’d normally find in a major city — right in the heart of Owensboro.
My wife and I visit every time we come to town. The selection of supplements, vitamins, natural remedies and healthy eating options is unbeatable. The sandwiches and soups are delicious too. The staff is helpful and friendly. Really can’t find anything negative about the store other than higher than average prices, but that’s to be expected given the merchandise they’re selling.
Overall, this is a must-​visit store for any Owensboro visitor.

Wow! Gene’s! I was unbelievably happy to find Gene’s Health Food in Owensboro. The location is small, but fairly well-​stocked. They have various veggie meats, Tofutti products, organic foods, supplements, natural skin and hair care products, and other things I thought I’d never find in Owensboro. Their prices are comparable to other health food stores. The only downside to my experience was that the cashier didn’t seem to be very fond of me. Maybe I was being paranoid because I was in Kentucky, but I felt that she was damning me with her judgmental eyes. I’m still going to give Gene’s five stars, though, because they sell HEALTH FOOD IN OWENSBORO.
