I came here around noon on the weekend to pick up a box of pastries and have a café con leche.
I picked out two guava pastries, two quesitos, a merengue, and two mini chocolate croissants.
The guava pastry was my favorite and even my parents agreed. The way it was made was delicious, it felt like a fancy take on the regular guava pastry. I’ve had a lot of guava pastries, I’m from Miami. These blew me away, and I would say their a must have for anyone who loves guava pastries.
The quesitos were also very good and nicely made. What really impressed me was the quality of the pastries, they were all so well made. You could tell they were made with care by someone who knew what they were doing.
The mini chocolate croissants were tasty and I love all croissants. They were flakey and had a perfect amount of chocolate.
The merengue was very big and I was impressed at how good it tasted. It wasn’t dry or chalky like some other ones I’ve had in the past.
The only slight disappointment was my Café con leche. It wasn’t very good, I’ve had a lot of coffee and a lot of café con leche. It wasn’t terrible or bad but it wasn’t good or anything I can see myself getting again.
Overall, the pastries are where this place really shines. They have a wide variety and something for everyone. It’s worth checking out if you are in the area and craving something sweet!

I came here about a week ago to finally check out the amazing pastries everyone raves about. I read in other reviews that they have great sandwiches as well so I was planning on grabbing a quick lunch and crossed my fingers that they had salad.
The ladies working were so nice and I told them I have a nut allergy and they told me exactly which pastries to avoid. To my surprise, they had salad! It was actually an extremely fresh and delicious salad with homemade croutons that were to die for. They give you a choice between Italian and ranch dressings and the plate of salad is quite large. My fiancé had the Cuban sandwich, which he also really enjoyed.
Surprisingly, it was the pastry that we didn’t enjoy. We left with just a Nutella empanada as we were way to full to indulge in any more food. It was super dry and the Nutella inside was crumbly from being over baked. It wasn’t disgusting but it wasn’t really good either. I’m not going to let one bad pastry stop me from returning though because everything else was and looked amazing. I’m eager to return and try something new.

AWESOME! Everything I’ve had is great. I Normally don’t care for coconut cream pie and when we go here that is my first choice.

Came in for a sandwich and something sweet. I saw the great reviews so after I did my grocery shopping I popped in. Was around lunch time so it was a little busy. I should mention I had my 15 month old with me so it makes any endeavor a little bit more stressful! So, long story short the little girl who waited on me was very sweet, but the older woman she was working with wasn’t that friendly at all. Thinking she was the owner/​manager. Like I said, it was busy and she seemed stressed! Service aside, the sandwich I waited almost 20 minutes for was not worth the wait! Was my first time in so maybe I’m being unfair and will try them again! :)

Yes to everything here! Best small local business. Espresso is amazing and so is the food!

Reminds me of the bakeries up in Montréal Canada. Small, cozy, and unpretentious. All about high quality baked goods in limited quantity to preserve freshness. Coffee was very good, smooth and distinctive. Oviedo is lucky to have such an operator, the entire central Florida can use a dozen more shops like this. Boys and Girls at UCF, don’t waste your money and TIME in an edu-​mucation if you know it doesn’t pay, learn a craft or skill like the fine pastry chefs here at De Azucar, it would be more rewarding toward life experience.

This Bakery is run by very rude people!
I drove 30 minutes to get there and I was going to open the door knowing it was 2 minutes before Closing Time. I was right in front of the door and ready to open but I couldn’t because one of the attendants rapidly locked the door!
I saw the other employee in the back looking at me and making faces like thinking that it was so funny to left me outside!
I did not try to argue because this shitty place isn’t worth to come back anyway!

Such a great place! Small but cute, homey and smells amazing!
There’s a variety of pastries, sweet and savory, and cakes. And they have a lot of great drinks.
Tried the cheese Danish and it was so delicious! Flakey, creamy with just enough sweetness. Can’t wait to go back and try more!

This place is absolutely delightful. Just don’t eat the ham and gouda criossant! They’re MINE! I love them sooo much!
Seriously thought this is what it was like when we lived in Europe. A little corner place that’s all yours. Handcrafted coffees with simply to die for yummy treats.
They should partner with a gymn… Cause I will need to workout more than ever!

Love everything about this place. Everything made is amazing and the owners are wonderful people! If you have not had a chance to stop in I encourage you to make a stop soon you will not be disappointed!

*Update 5/​29/​16:* Coffee and baked goods are amazing as always, but I feel like I don’t get the same welcomed feeling as I used to. idk maybe it’s newer employees. The coffee loyalty ‘card’ system is inefficient. It’s a book of customer names & stamps instead of a stamp card that customers keep. I haven’t been here for about a month or so and the employee told me they got rid of their old book and had a new one… but didn’t update my stamps from old book so now I don’t have my previous stamps and have to start fresh. I’m a bit disappointed. :(

De Azucar translates to «of sugar». My husband reminded me of this as he took Spanish in high school, while I took French. While this is a cute name for a local bake shop, it doesn’t really matter to me what the name is because this place is incredible!
We arrived around 8 in the morning and good thing we did because as we were seated, people came in droves. It was like someone rang a bell for breakfast time and everyone in Oviedo came pouring in at around 8:15. If it’s your first time, you’ll need a few minutes anyway to take in all of the choices (and heavenly smells).
My husband indulged in a cuban/​meat filled croissant and toasted marshmallow latte. The cinnamon rolls were silently calling to me, but they might have had to roll me out of there. Instead I went lighter with the nutella donut muffin and regular coffee. There wasn’t much flavor of nutella, but the texture was perfect and it was covered in sugar. I’m glad I got the regular coffee because it was a good balance with the super sweet treat.
The shop is tucked away in a strip mall behind a gas station, but looks can be deceiving. It’s adorably decorated inside and the staff are sweet too.
Can’t wait to come back here try some of the savory things on the menu and get my sugar fix on again!

First time there… For sure not the last. Amazing lattes and the pastries were awesome.

Such a cute little shop! So happy I found a nice little place to sit and have coffee while studying.

Unique and delicious. Had a Mallorca Sandwich that was unbelievable and took a few goodies home. Visiting for a short stay with family and will certainly return. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Great cup of coffee too.

I love this place!!! I enjoy the café con leche, the pastries, croissants (turkey & Gouda my favorite) and all the freshly baked cakes! Everything looks so yummy!!! Awesome customer service.

Super friendly staff. Their pastries are all mad from scratch in-​house and are delicious. I loved their little tarts and is amazing. Their season pumpkin cakes are awesome too. Ask for their café con leche and enjoy a nice coffee and cakes!!!

Delicious pastries, friendly staff! I loved the homey feel. I went on a Saturday mid-​morning and it was full. The food was delicious and tasted very healthy. Will be back! The dining area is very small — luckily the flow of people was great and we got a table quickly.

I’ve now been here twice and this might be my favorite place to start the weekend. While there isn’t a lot of seating, the smiles, fresh food and delicious lattes make up for that… and you don’t break the bank.
The croissant was mentioned by some friends as being some of the best they’ve had. They weren’t lying! I had the ham and cheese croissant the first time and today I had the grilled focaccia turkey sandwich. The flavors are so simple and just right.
There are Cuban sandwiches, Mallorca, sweet pastries (like dessert croissants), and the Cuban lady next to me says they have the best Café con Leche in town.
Anyhow, this place is pure quality. Come by between normal meal times for a shorter line, but sit back and enjoy the day. You deserve it! :-)

This place is super yummy! It’s always packed so be prepared to wait but no longer than 10 – 15 min. The breakfast sandwich on a croissant is unbelievable. The pastries are fresh and really good. The cinnamon roles are amazing. Coffee is super good! Coconut cake is yummy. The staff is friendly. It’s a great local coffee shop you should check it out!

I’m so bummed — I wrote them a review this morning from my phone and it never posted. I have to write it again… I’m glad to do so because this place is AWESOME!
First, two «negatives.» If you aren’t specifically looking for it or have it plugged into the GPS, you’ll totally miss it because they don’t have a sign up on top of their store (mini strip mall). The do have a bakery sign in the window but there’s no way to see it from the road. Also, their hours of operation stink because they are when normal people are working. And they are closed on Sunday.
Now, on to the positives. THIS PLACE IS INCREDIBLE! There were so many pastries to choose from, all made on-​site, that were making my mouth water. A few kinds of croissants, fruit filled, cheese filled, french toast bread pudding, donut muffis, etc. They also had desserts in another case (think cheesecakes) but I couldn’t even make it to that side of the counter. They also had several varieties of hot croissants filled with meats and cheeses
I ordered a café con lech (which was delicious), a Quesito (filo dough filled with cream cheese and topped with sugar), a few croissants, french toast bread pudding, and a hot croissant filled with ham and gouda. I had great intentions on sharing once I got to the office, but that didn’t happen. I had a bite of everything because I wanted to try it all, and I couldn’t give away nibbled on goodies. lol
I will never be back on a weekday because it’s about 15 minutes in the wrong direction when going to the office, but I will DEFINITELY be back on a day I play hookie or a Saturday!

This place is ridiculous. Everything is fresh and they are extremely accommodating with special requests. The cinnamon rolls are other worlds and there lattes can make me forget Starbucks was ever conceived. I easily could’ve purchased 1 of everything!

Great customer service, excellent breakfasts and pastries… by far the best coffee concoctions available in the surrounding area.
It’s a bit hard to find because the sign isn’t on the building, but it’s in the strip mall between the Perfect Hair & Victory (martial arts).

I WILL NEVER GO TO STARBUCKS AGAIN!

I’m so happy I visited De Azucar Bakeshop today. It made me smile on the inside! The café con leche was deeeeeeeeelicious. I decided to have lunch as well, and decided to have the grilled foccacio sandwich, which comes with either chips or a side salad. It was all so fresh and wonderful.
Besides the food being amazing — so was the staff. So friendly and helpful with suggestions. While I was enjoying my lunch and reading a book, MANY regulars came in, and they were all greeted by name. I want to be one of those people!
I enjoy baking myself, and always make things pretty — they share the same thought at De Azucar — which made it so hard to choose. You eat with your eyes first! I purchased an almond pear galette to go, which I will be eating for breakfast in the morning, and I absolutely can not wait to wake up tomorrow!
Lastly — they offer a punch card. I LOVE punch cards. I have a stack of them. It feels good to be recognized and rewarded for repeat visits!

I stopped in here shortly after they opened and was BLOWN AWAY at the taste and quality of their baked goods. They have been open for a while now and I have been here a few times since my doctor’s office is within walking distance but today I had time to sit, socialize and observe.
ALL of the pastries in the case are made fresh daily. That is one thing that impresses me and today I had one of the Crème Puffs and a Cheese Danish and BOTH were delicious! I have sampled several other items in the past and every one of them were delicious and FRESH!
I have in the past tried their Cappuccino’s and Latte’s and have never been disappointed. Today I had my to go cup and wanted to see what they would make me if I left it up to the Barista. Well she made me something with caramel and sea salt and the sweet/​salt balance was incredible. I have never had anything this good at Starbucks!
My ONLY complaint is that they DO NOT offer WIFI. I can live with that since they are in a Brighthouse HOT SPOT so IF you are a Brighthouse customer, NO BIG DEAL! That is the ONLY reason they do not have 5 stars…
I would recommend them in a heartbeat and will just have to ration myself because I have NO WILL POWER when it comes to their baked goods! Even as I was sitting there socializing they were putting more things in the case. I can assure you that you WILL NOT be disappointed. One of these day’s I may even try their lunch menu if I can make it past the pasrty cases! lol

It’s been a long time since I’ve been to a local bakeshop such as this. When my wife first told me about it, I wasn’t really all that excited. Then we arrived at this place.
Mind = Blown
I was so impressed with this place. Everything is made fresh daily (croissants, scones, pastries, you get the picture.) and is phenomenal. My wife and I ended up getting egg and cheese, and a bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwiches. We also picked up a nutella empanada as well as a cup of tea and a cup of coffee.
I was very impressed! Again, the food was phenomenal. The staff and owner were super friendly and made sure everything was too our satisfaction as well. Also, we were able to bring our dog and sit outside.
Definitely going to recommend to our friends!

After having this on my Bookmarks for a few months I decided today was the day to head to this quaint little bakery not too far from my house.
First of all, the staff is ABSOLUTELY lovely and wonderful. They are a big part of why this place is so great. They are friendly and warm and welcoming and don’t make you feel rushed. They take great pride in what they do and can’t wait to show you their selection and offer their suggestions.
Today my husband and I had croissants. Mine with egg and cheese and his with egg, cheese and bacon. They were delicious and buttery. Mouth watering, really.
We also had a nutella empanada… SO DELICIOUS!!!
My husband had the coffee and enjoyed it and I had some tea. They have the cutest little tea pots and cups (apparently that stuff matters to me) and two tables outside so we could bring our puppy :)
I will definitely be coming back.
I really hope they do the classes soon!!!

Yo Amo D’Azucar because everything I’ve had there is pure bliss. Their chocolate cheesecake is probably the best in the area. It may look small but don’t be fooled! It’s rich and intense but what I really love is that’s it’s not overly sweet, perfect!
During the fall season they make pumpkin duffins (is that what they’re called? The cross between a donut and a muffin? Well… you know what I mean.)
I usually stop by here after I’ve had Vietnamese so I always get dessert but they make sandwiches and breakfast items here too including fresh baked Mayoca’s and cheese and bacon croissants… Yes, you read right, CHEESE, and BACON CROISSANTS… Hey, where are you going? Wait for me!!!

I have had several items from this bakery and each one is delicious and worth the calories. They make great cakes in particular. Their bread is lovely. The croissants are airy and buttery. The ones with fillings are really yummy. I like the warm them up slightly to get the cheese melty again. They are great to grab for road trips on my drive back to Tallahassee from my mom’s home just up the road in Oviedo. It is funny, because sometimes the more «plain» items are the more delicious ones. That is the mark of a good bakery to me though. The craft, ingredients, and love show through this way. Support a local business, stop in their shop for some goodies, you won’t regret it.
I did find out they have a 48 hour ordering policy this weekend. I don’t know if that was a valentine’s day rule or an all the time rule. If you want to preorder, try in advance. They did work with me though and I greatly appreciated it. I was able to surprise my Valentine with something very thoughtful.
