Great food. Friendly staff and overall a nice set up. Good selection of different food items. Subs are fantastic, Tuscan salad is delicious, and Greek salad with chicken is fabulous

I have a very tight knit group of friends that have a monthly dinner gathering at one anothers home. We recently lost one of our members after a brave fight against cancer. I called Bernie to see if he could help me create a meal to serve in her honor. He was delighted to take time to personally create a menu that would be stress free and comforting… his famous Schnitzel was served with a European Style potato salad, a fabulous mixed green salad with balsamic dressing and a chocolate mousse to wrap up a perfect meal. I highly recommend Bernie’s Gourmet to Go.

This is a great place to grab a nice wrap or sandwich or a premade meal to take home. The chicken salads or excellent as they have 10 different flavors, and they also offer stuffed cabbage, lasagna, different types of sandwiches such as French dip and Ruben. The food is excellent and is a must try especially if you want to take it home.

Pricey but very good. Great variety of chicken salads and the pre made meals are good when you’re in a pinch. I find they are big enough to serve two.

I love this café. The service is absolutely the best. From placing a phone order to picking up everyone is so kind.
I had the Portobello with goats cheese, field greens and roasted red peppers on a fresh baked ciabatta roll.

I decided to walk along CR 419 in the humid heat and after reading reviews on Unilocal decided to stop by to grab a drink, check out the selection, and take a break from the sun. Originally from New York and living in Hawaii for the past 5 years I was definitely looking forward to a good chicken salad instead of mac salad. I ordered ½ a pound of the chicken salad with walnuts and apples and I inhaled it when I got home! Sooo good. I really look forward to going back to try the others.

I felt the need to post my review again because Unilocal filtered my review unfairly. Their «algorithm» filters mostly postive reviews, note the 10 or so filtered reviews that are all 4 – 5 stars including my own, yet a 1 star review is front and center. are 10+ people wrong and 1 person is right? don’t think so
I don’t know bernie, I’ve never met bernie, but I did have the pleasure of interacting with his staff and tasting the wonderful food. «Bernie’s is a great little deli/​catering place. I’ve had the chance to try their philly cheese steak, roast beef sandwich, and the pulled pork sandwich. They are all exceptional, and the portions are generous. That said, good luck trying to save half for later. It’s that good. The service is very friendly as well. They also have a ton of prepared dinners and desserts that I have yet to try, but they all look tasty. No hesitations recommending Bernies»

I’ve stopped here multiple times on my way home from work. I always get the salads, so I can’t speak to the other items on the menu (although the desserts look amazing!). The ladies behind the counter are friendly (if a bit frazzled at times — it DOES get busy in there at the dinner hour) and they always let you try a sample of the items in the deli case, such as the chicken salads and the pasta/​potato salads. Good amount of food for the money, and very, very tasty chicken salads.

The various chicken salads are something to see and taste! The mediterranean is my favorite. I always take a pint home so I can have a sandwich later in the week. (I live in Orlando so I do not drive out to Oviedo that ofter.) I have also purchased dinners there to reheat later. I have had the stuffed baked potatoes a number of times and consider them one of my favorites. The shepard’s pie is also awesome. I have not had a bad meal there yet and I have been there four times in the last few months and the consistency is always the same — very good!

I wanted to like this place. Having just moved to Oviedo from new Smyrna, I was looking forward to a nice family owned sandwich shop. I came here around noon time so it wasn’t too busy. Two ladies were ahead of me but couldn’t make up their mind, so one of the employees took my order while they decided. They took my order at least 5 minutes before the two ladies ordered. Somehow the two women that ordered after me and ordered twice as much food got their food before me. Well no big deal I wasn’t in a hurry, and I ordered a Ruben sandwich anyways so I assumed that they were heating it anyways so it was going to take longer to make. NOT the case! I eventually got my order that I got to go and took it home. Well those of you that have had a Ruben before know they are supposed to be hot and delicious! This was hands down the worst ruben, let me just say the worst sandwich I’ve ever had! It had a slice of pumpernickel on the bottom a slice of rye on top at first if was like ok cute haha big deal. well I took a bite of it and it had spicy mustard on it?!? Ok spicy mustard and thousand island dressing do not go together and deffinently doesn’t belong on a Ruben. Even worse the bread was rock hard, and everything was ice cold! Even worse I got some sort of cucumber salad that had tomatoes, and some strange cheese like things in it that tasted like rubber not good at all. I went on the website and it says all this stuff about being German and gourmet, not at all I wouldn’t waste my time or money here ever again. Take my advise, don’t go here it isn’t good there is a reason there is never anyone here.

I’ve heard some good things about Bernie’s Gourmet To Go and made my way there this afternoon for a quite bite. It’s a cozy place with a hometown deli appeal. I tried the Dagwood deli sandwhich which had heaping mounds of oven roasted turkey, black forest ham, and italian-​seasoned roastbeef, garnished with field greens, red onion, and tomato. My made-​to-​order sandwhich was piled high and looked very appetizing. I ordered it with multigrain bread which was soft and savory.
The service was exceptionally great and very sincere. She offered samples of some of their specialties like the Buffalo Chicken Salad with blue cheese crumbles and the Italian pasta salad with feta cheese, both of which were savory temptations. They have several large deli cases filled with homemade meals and side dishes available for take out. Whole dinner meals cost around $ 12; Sandwhiches run between $ 7-​$ 8. Unfortunately, I didn’t take any photos on this visit but I will the next time I am there… which will be sometime very soon!

Great food! Carrot cake is a must. 4 different chicken salads that you must try.
