Wow, they closed suddenly. And their website is gone. Wonder what happened… sorry to see them go.

Stopped by on 7⁄1 to try it out for lunch. Came to an empty parking lot and a dark restaurant with a priece of paper on the door: «Closed until further notice.» The website is down too. Darn.

We went there tonight, but alas, it has closed. There was a sign posted on the door that said something such as «closed until further notice.» The place was empty.

Went to Traqueros first time today based on a Unilocal review and so glad we did. This is sort of like Chipotle but the food is much better. We had the Street Tacos, which you can get with Steak, MahiMahi, Chicken, Machaca Chicken(more spicy), Pork Adobo or Carnitas. We sampled 5 of these between us and they were all very good. The place has a Salsa Bar which had six fresh salsas, and that was very nice. The chips are very good as well. The place is a little hard to find but it’s on the south side of 119th hear the IHOP and Famous Dave’s. Worth the effort!

Third time is indeed a charm. Tried to visit Unforked today. I always try to avoid going out to lunch at ten of twelve unfortunately that was my lunch time today. Needless to say, parking lot was jam packed and the kid was crying in the back seat. .. Next. That would be Famous Dave’s. I know, it is a culinary jump but there is no rhyme nor reason with the food that hits my stomach. I reasoned there would be room in the parking lot. There was! I didn’t count on standing at the podium for five minutes hearing crickets. .. NEXT. That leads us to this review. Situated just south of Famous Daves is a new(within the last couple months I’m told) casual Mexican restaurant Traqueros Fresh Mexican Grill. Glad we noticed it. Once you enter you have a que that will remind you of Chipotle but really it is more like the entryway to a Pei Wei with the video board menus. We were temporarily confused by the two guys standing at the video menus with no other people near them. We eventually moved past them to order. We were greeted by a very friendly young lady. We placed our order and had a seat. You get your drinks and take one of those number-poles to the table. Your food is brought out by runners. As we had a grumpy kid our very nice order taker took note and quickly brought out his chicken quesadilla. I was surprised to see it came with a cup of beans. I was happy as my kiddo doesn’t eat them. Tasty Good! Our meals chips & guacamole for the wife(she loved) and Taco Dinner for me, two tacos, beans(Mmmm) and rice. The runner who brought out our food noticed I didn’t have silver, she grabbed some for me. This I learned was standard. The concept is to check with the customers and be sure everything is good. Refill drinks and get your silverware. Nice touch. I know I will be back. Oh, I didn’t describe the tacos, one beef one chicken but they have six options including mahi mahi and chicken & shrimp. I like the corn tortilla, cabbage and Mexican cheese as well. Not your standard taco. Try it!

Excellent quick/casual dinner. Tried this for the first time last night and had a great experience and great food. We started with guacomole and chile verde. Both were excellent/fresh though guac could have been spicier but that’s personal preference. My wife ordered the Taqueros skillet and it was great but we barely made a dent in it. I had the Las Cruses Pizza which was surprisingly awesome. It came with a salad and was spicy enough to give me my fix! Our daughter had the quesedillas that came with beans. The quesadilla looked fairly ordinary but I didn’t try it. We also had a couple beers and got out of there for around $ 35! How can you beat that? I’m anxious to go back and try new things because I got the sense that I really couldn’t go wrong with whatever I ordered. Also, this is an order-at-the-counter, then someone delivers your food to your table type place. But we must have had our server come by 2 or 3 more times to make sure everything was ok and the manager stopped by once as well — not annoyingly… just a brief inquiry to whether we needed anything and how everything tasted. We’ll be back.

Stopped in for a really quick bite tonight before a movie and was extremely pleased with both the quantity and quality of the food. I had the steak burrito(with the queso on the side) and my wife had a crispy chicken taco and a crispy beef taco. The steak burrito was very good and the charro beans were excellent. I’m not the biggest fan of Mexican/Spanish rice, but even that was really good. Of the two tacos, my wife thought the chicken was the best of the two, so I guess I’ll have to try that next time. It was also nice to get such great service. I will say the cost is a little higher than Chipotle, but here you get the rice and charro beans as side items and the quality of the food was also a step above. If you’re looking for a quick, quality Mexican meal with a variety of options on the menu, you should definitely give Traqueros a try!

Tried this on a Sunday afternoon, we were probably the first people there which made us a little nervous. The staff was still being trained, but were very attentive. Had the chips & queso, guac, and skillet-all were good-split between 2 adults and a toddler. The skillet was served with a side of beans, next time I would get rice since the skillet has beans in it already. Also, it needed a little salsa or something on the side – will order some next time. Queso was good, and they even refilled our chips for us! A little off-putting smell wafting through as the door opened as other patrons arrived – something from the back? Old grease trap or slight sewer smell – have noticed this before in other restaurants that are not free standing, this is this one thing that needs improvement. Décor is nice, seems clean, good sized portions, kid friendly, fast service, and very caring staff. Wish them luck!

Hooray for a Mexican restaurant that doesn’t chop their meat into oblivion! Nice CHUNKS of perfectly marinated meat awaits you here! If you are a fan of traditional soft corn tortilla tacos, welcome to your new favorite place. I tried both the steak and the grilled chicken and both were dynamite. The grilled chicken was so juicy, not at all stringy or dry, and oh-so tasty! I’m impressed. The supporting case of flavors round out the meat experience with fresh cilantro, lime, and pico. They could«stuff» those tacos a bit more and I wouldn’t complain, but I’m just glad everything was so high quality. Their beans are re-fried, but you won’t find goo on your plate when it comes out of the kitchen, rather nicely cooked saucy pintos. The rice is really well seasoned and neither dry nor sticky. Saw some other items on the menu that tempted me, it will be a hard choice next time I visit. I wish you the same problem!

We love Mexican food so we thought we’d try this place for lunch. The food is excellent. The chips were good and crunchy with the gauc we ordered. My wife had chicken enchiladas which contained a chile sauce that made them really tasty. I had the steak burrito which was great. The beans and rice were all good too.

Don’t let the Chipotle-like décor mislead you. This is quality Mexican food made fresh and fast … and delivered to your table. Friendly, accommodating staff; great casual dining experience. Large portions and very reasonably priced.
