Crab Rangoon is out of this world! I could eat a whole order and not feel ashamed! They are small and flaky with a wonderful taste! Highly recommend these! I like the hot and sour soup! Good solid bite Lots of good mushrooms in this also! The salad if I order ask for The red sauce! It’s pretty much sweet and sour but it’s good! Tuesday is 30% off Thai Pads! Start with a mild plus sauce and work your way up! I’m solid with Thai Medium it has a good burn! Drink plenty of water! The service is excellent but I only been there at lunch!

Best Thai Food in Kansas City Metro Area. If you want to try one of the best Beef dishes you will ever have order the Tiger Cry Beef. I could write a book on how good this place is so I will leave it at that.

This is one of my favorites Thai restaurants in KC, but I hadn’t been here for lunch until today. The lunch portions and prices are comparable to other Thai restaurants however, their lunch entrees come with a really delicious ginger chicken rice soup and two pieces of crab rangoon. Also, the delivery of the food was much faster(maybe 15 minutes) than I’ve experienced any where else. This will definitely be permanent on the lunch rotation!

This place is a regular for us, as we choose to eat here probably 1x a month. Our favorite is the Pad Thai, which gives you enough for leftovers! The service is good here, and they have one guy who works there regularly who has a great personality. He takes pride in the drinks he makes and really wants his customers to be happy and satisfied. Their Pad See Ew is also delicious, though is a smaller portion than the Pad Thai. We also really enjoy their spring rolls and crab Rangoon for appetizers.

The best yellow curry fried rice I had. Their crab rangoon was pretty awesome too. A must go place in Kansas City.

Thai Place has solid Asian cuisine with great service! Our group was greeted and seated quickly. We each ordered an appetizers. My wife and I had the soft spring rolls and they were just OK. I have had better and I now know that I prefer spring rolls with mint instead of cilantro, just my personal preference. I did sample some of the Tiger Cry Beef that a friend had ordered and that was very tasty. I would recommend that appetizer for sure. As for the main course I ordered the Spicy Ginger with chicken and my wife opted for the Pad Thai with Tofu. I am a spicy food lover and usually order my Thai food HOT and every time the server says, «Are you sure?» I have become rather unamused by these comments as they are usually an over exaggeration of fear mongering. This was definitely the case here, my dish had some heat but it was not as HOT as like I would have liked. The dish itself was good, nice variety of veggies and chicken served is a side of white rice. My wife’s Pad Thai was fantastic! The flavors and noodles were prefect along with slightly browned tofu pieces. She order hers Mild+ and it had a slight burn which we deemed appropriate. Best part of this meal was our service. From the front door to when we were leaving the staff was fun and attentive. I don’t think my water ever made it to half full before someone came by to top it off. Our server was funny and polite in his interaction with our group.

This place sucks, we went there 30 min prior to close and were refused service. We did regularly eat there but no more. We drove 30 min to eat there but they said the kitchen was closed, but offered to cook us food outback I guess in the parking lot if we took it to go. The people and owner are assholes!

Incredible Thai food! I was hesitant to go here but my best friend insisted this Thai food was legit. She couldn’t have been more right. I loved the Pad Thai, and I can’t wait to try something else. We came for dinner and the portion was huge! I also love the ambiance this restaurant has. It’s different from other Thai restaurants in Overland Park. Super attentive staff as well!

Amazing Thai food! We started with the soft spring rolls as an appetizer which were light and refreshing — lots of good cilantro flavor. They had a wonderful sweet sauce that came with them. My boyfriend had the Red Curry with chicken — it had a delicious delicate coconut flavor. I was stuck deciding between the Moon Flower Duck and the Grilled Beef Mint Salad and after asking a server which he would recommend, I went with the salad. It was a cold night and I was worried that a salad wouldn’t leave me feeling satisfied but the Grilled Beef Mint salad did NOT disappoint. Amazing flavor on whatever suave the beef is marinated in. I went with Mild+ as my spice level which was perfect for me. Spicy enough to have a little kick and great flavor but not so hot that I felt like I needed to down ice water as I ate. All in all a great dining experience, great service, nice dining area, and AMAZING food. Wish we lived closer so we could eat here more often.

The prices are pretty high but they give you a lot of food. My thoughts: Phad Sea Eaw — Yum! Loved the flavor and the consistency of the noodles were perfect. Pad Thai — A little too sweet for my taste and I wish they gave us bean sprouts to mix in. Papaya Salad — Tried thai and laos style I think I prefer the Laos style. Warning: order one of two spiciness level below what you usually order. Moon Flower Roast Duck — Nothing special, not worth the price. Thai Iced Tea — WAY too sweet. Keep in mind that they list their spiciness level but some things are spicier than others even if it is in the same level. For example, I enjoy the Pad See Eww at «medium+» but their papaya salad still tastes spicier than that at «medium.» When they are busy, the food and check takes FOREVER to come but they are pretty good about refilling water constantly. I think I will try to come here on off times in the future to avoid the crowd and long waits.

Really good Thai food. They give you a lot of food. I ordered the pad Thai lunch portion and it was enough to feed three people. So you def get you monies worth. Now let me tell you I have eaten Thai food all over the United States and I like it spicy. I ordered it Thai hit and my god it was the hottest ever. I told the waiter it was the hottest ever and he had the nerve to say bad ideas. I said excuse me that was a good idea I like I hot. I really felt like telling him to go to hell at that point lol. Food was amazing. Waiter was kind of annoying.

This is my favorite Thai place in the KC area. I’ve eaten here many times. I came here the first time a few years ago with a groupon purchase. Thank god! I don’t think I would’ve traveled this far to get Thai otherwise. Their prices are comparable to other Thai places in the city. Everything I’ve had here tastes fresh and full of flavor. My favorite dishes are pad kee mao, pad see ewe, and Lad na. I also enjoy the coconut stick rice with mango. I don’t even eat at other Thai places and I live in North KC!

Great service! We are really just starting to «get into» Thai food, so we’re still a little confused about what to order, heat level, etc. Our server was very friendly, offered advice(especially regarding heat) and really you could tell the other staff was just as good as others were dining around us. We left with enough leftovers for at least 2 more meals. The food was GREAT and thank goodness he warned me I might be ordering too spicy because he was right… my mild + was really all the heat I was prepared to take(and I’m pretty good with spicy foods). It’s a little pricey, but it helps when you know you’ll get multiple meals out of it.

Some of the best pad thai around(as well as their panang curry) and the widest variety of spice that you can find. Not only do they have mild, medium, and hot but they allow you to say«mild +» or «medium +» so you can go into those middle levels for exactly the right amount of spice. Beware, GF peeps of mine, that when you get lunch take out, they put crab Rangoon in your Styrofoam container so gluten will touch your food. Just FYI.

Thai Place is a small Thai restaurant not in the older suburbs of Kansas City with classic vegetarian options. Near a pawn shop, local bank, and comic store, Thai Place doesn’t come off as a power player in the Kansas City Thai game. It should definitely be respected, though. I ordered a red curry with veggies and tofu, my go to at any Thai spot, making sure there was no fish sauce. That’s always a struggle at Asian restaurants — to the best of my knowledge, fish aren’t vegetables. I was pretty pleased with the curry: it wasn’t overwhelmingly coconut milk, and it had a great heat to it. The tofu was also excellent — it soaked up the curry flavoring and kept its soft texture. I was kind of surprised by some of the vegetables in the curry though. It was mostly bok choy, which didn’t taste very good. Overall, I’d return to Thai Place if I were in the 87th Street area. The Thai options are limited in the Kansas City area, and Thai Place makes a decent curry.

Seriously, read the tips.. Medium heat is very spicy. I normally get a 7 out of 10. I wish I had gotten a 4 here. Everything we had was awesomeness and so flavorful. Can’t go wrong here.

I FOUND A F’INGCOCKROACHINMYFOOD! I used to rate this place at 5 stars, but after my experience today with it, I only wish that I could rate it negative stars. I had ordered our regular, pad thai medium heat to go. I ate mine, my fiancé ate part of hers and then reheated the remainder for dinner the same evening. She found a dead cooked cockroach in the left overs. They were apologetic and are refunding the purchase. When I called, I was told by the manager on the phone that it does happen from time to time. AREYOU F’INGKIDDINGME?!? There are plenty of good places to eat in the area, choose another, one that doesn’t give you free cockroaches with your food.
