Rick Leathers – State Farm Insurance Agent

If you are looking for insurance, don’t waste your time or money on State Farm or Mr Leathers. My entire family (three households, seven cars) have been loyal customers for years, but once this branch was handed to Mr Leathers things went downhill.
First, he raised our premiums without any notice or explanation. When I tried contacting Mr Leathers about this, his assistant would not allow me to speak with him or even leave a message. When I was finally able to speak with Mr Leathers, he gave me a jargon-​filled explanation for the rate hike and then tried to sell me on more coverage.
Our second, and last, experience with Mr Leathers and State Farm was two weeks ago. My wife’s car broke-​down and she was stranded on the side of the road. The roadside assistance that we paid for every month took nearly three hours because State Farm didn’t call a tow truck for the first two. We tried calling Mr Leathers multiple times in hopes that he could help resolve the situation, but nobody was in the office (10:00 am on a weekday) nor was there a place to leave a message. We then tried emailing him and contacting him through his website, but that also failed to work. He finally contacted us last night at 7:00, but his call was in response to my wife’s Facebook review, not our multiple attempts to contact him. After my wife explained to him what happened, he finally checked his emails, website, etc. and noticed our messages.
My wife and I were the last ones in our family to stay with Mr Leathers agency, but being left on the side of the road by the company we paid to take care of those things was more than we could handle. I wish that I could rate Mr Leathers and State Farm zero stars, but one will have to do. We have all switched to another company and the service is impeccable.
