The Carlsen Center is Johnson County, KS’s performing arts center, hosting over 200 events per year, including its own Performing Arts Series. Stars on the series range from Rita Moreno, Ricky Skaggs and Bruce Hornsby, Taj Mahal, Arturo Sandoval, to the Shanghai Ballet, Wild Kingdom and LA Theatreworks, The Graduate — and much, much more! You’ll find something for everyone — dance, comedy, theatre, family events and music of all kinds! Community groups also rent the space for dance recitals, performances, graduations and lectures.

History
Established in 1990.
Since opening in 1990, the Carlsen Center has welcomed over 1.8 million people through its doors. Today, it presents around 200 events annually, and is Johnson County’s performing arts center.

Manager
The Performing Arts Series at JCCC is presented in the Carlsen Center. It features celebrities and performers from all over the world.
In addition, community events take place in the Carlsen Center, as well as lots of college-sponsored events.
