First time hearing of Nick & Jake’s being from Chicago and I am so glad that my friend and I randomly came across this place & decided to try it out! Went here during lunch hours and there were so many menu options, I wasn’t sure what to expect or what I would like so I asked for suggestions via our server, David. David was amazing he told us some really great options and even one’s he would not recommend. Very friendly! Decided to keep it simple and try this burger called«OMG» which came with fries as well. Essentially a regular burger with pulled pork, bacon, lettuce, pepperoncini, Jack, Chipotle Mayo, etc. I know mouth watering description. Let me just say that this burger was SO Good, it literally made me so «Oh My God»! out loud. It was so big and very fulfilling! Please try it, you wont regret it(Maybe your arteries will, but you certainly wont!). Everything else was just so good. David, upon realizing it was our first time there offered dessert on the house for us. When it was time for desert he brought out a platter of options and let us pick which one we would like. After the burger I barely had any room left for dessert. Ending up choosing a simple chocolate brownie with hot fudge and ice cream. Very sweet, but very good. The atmosphere is nice and cozy, at least the booth sections, one of a family style restaurant but better. The amazing service, especially from David, I received alone is enough to warrant many future visits! Please check it out!

The best ribs!!! And their ranch is so good. For an appetizer, get the mozzarella sticks!!! You can’t go wrong with any of their desserts either! This place rocks.

We went for an early Dinner this Thursday evening. We were seated on the Bar side up were the Booths are. We were the first ones seated in this area. While we were waiting for a waitress that never came, a Larger Group of 10 or 12 was seated and immediately waited on Drinks and appetizer order, we kept waiting and one of the hosted came by, stated they did know who our waitress was going to be so we left after sitting there 15 min and went to Sunset Grill.

Not impressed. First, we walk in after a movie at Cinetopia, get seated only to watch a group of semi-drunken, septuagenarian golfers pawing all over this woman(who seemed to be enjoying it-of course they were dowsing her with free drinks!)…at least we were able to watch the baseball game on TV. Our server was a very pleasant young woman. She was attentive, polite and professional. I had the jambalya which was more like a shrimp creole than it was jambalaya. It was good, but it was NOT jambalaya. I won’t be back. Overpriced and uninspired by my experience.

When you find out about a great new place to eat, it can come from many sources. A friend or a reviewer on Unilocal!or any of a million restaurant reviews online or in the paper. I can say that none of those led me here. I tried this place on the advice of the clerk from CVS, and as it turns out, the guy was spot on! The parking lot was full when I pulled in at a little before seven in the evening. Not an empty spot was available on my first pass. I did get a space near the front as I made a second lap. There was a nice outdoor seating area, but it was a little windy and I went inside. I was seated in seconds and there was plenty of room, a nice ambience and not too much noise. Too many places play such loud music that you can’t enjoy a conversation. This place has no music and is pleasant to be in. My server helped me with several options from their extensive menu. I was in on Monday, rib night, so I chose the rib platter. This was not overly expensive. For $ 17.99, you get ¾ rack of fall off the bone ribs, coleslaw and fries. It was more than a good meal and a great value. The rib meat just fell off the bone like tender manna from BBQ heaven. They were sweet and smokey but not overly saucy or salty. You could taste the meat and it was moist and tender. These ribs had been smoked overnight. The fries were under the rack of ribs and be fitted their companion. They were nice hand cut fries with a crispness about them. The slaw was only slightly dressed and highlighted the cabbage and carrots rather than the dressing. I think it had been properly chilled overnight, too. The cabbage was still crisp but had married with the dressing and carrots. Then came the dessert. The Ghirardelli brownie ala mode with candied bacon in place of nuts. Holy Moses, we have a winner!!! The bacon was the perfect candy accent to the vanilla bean ice cream and the brownie. It was near perfection and finished the meal off without being too big. I have to say that this is not a BBQ joint. It is a casual dining place that has a menu loaded with great comfort food. It is more likely known for its meat loaf and chicken pie. Both are local favorites. I loved the BBQ ribs and the brownie. I am coming back for the shrimp & grits or the pot pie. You can’t go wrong with either. Don’t believe me, ask the guy at the CVS, he knows.

The name doesn’t sound appealing, but the restaurant is super nice and clean. We had great service!!! The filet was cooked perfect, mashed potatoes very creamy, the mac & cheese is made in house! Yummy! We tried the jalapeño cheese grits and they were good nothing to write home about. Overall great place to go! Good for large groups, families and kids. Great drink menu selection.

I love this place. Staff is friendly. Food is great. The adventurer and I love the crab cakes, salads and they have added some of former Wil and Jenny’s items to the menu. They have nightly specials and a fantastic brunch on Sunday.

Very good food and service. Short wait for a high volume of people. I had the stuffed pork chop, and my fiancé had a burger. We’ve had burgers at a few places like Grinders, Blanc Burgers, etc., and she thought it was the best out of them all. A manager came over to greet us and asked how we liked everything before we left. We’ve not had that happen very often. They seemed concerned about quality and feedback. We will come back; it’s very filling.

Very good brunch buffet, food was very savory and delicious, very large selection of grub, fell in love with the meatloaf, pot roast and mashed potato’s. I tried as much dessert as I had room for and it was spectacular. I do believe the next time I am in KC/OP, I will without a doubt find my way over to this special establishment. Great job boys, you’ve got something special, keep it good and clean and people will come. Almost forgot to mention that during my visit, the service was impeccable. Not sure if its always like that but, keep it up

Nick & Jake’s is a better casual dining Orion than Chili’s or Applebee’s. Their service is friendly and efficient. The dining room is clean and good looking, with a good array of both booths and tables. For children, there are highchairs and booster seats available. The menu has a good variety of food, and the children’s has several choices for young diners. The burgers are large, ½ lb. beef served on an egg roll bun. It comes with a side dish: choice of French fried For 50 cents extra(each) one can add mushrooms, cheese or bacon. The standard cheese is cheddar(though one may substitute another type); delightfully, American cheese is not even in the kitchen! Children are treated well. Kids meal items range from $ 4 to $ 8, and the two sided kids menu is a coloring sheet which is presented with four Crayola crayons. Children receive a complimentary kids appetizer, comprising grapes and Cheese-its(As a mother, I cannot express how much I appreciate these things since it keeps the children occupied while waiting for our meal to arrive; it allows the children to eat their entrees at the same times as the adults, which is definitely preferable). The atmosphere is clean and pleasant, with ambient music and friendly service. Though there are televisions in the bar and the President’s room, it is possible to avoid the intrusion of screens and instead enjoy the company of those at your table(delightful!). Be sure to check out the specials, which vary per day of the week. Because we often find ourselves here for Saturday lunch, we take advantage of the $ 7 specials, which seem to stay mostly the same(with a few variations from week to week) but have a wide variety of types of entrees.

Great Service! Great Happy Hour Specials! Although I wish they would stop moving the time back further and further every time I call lol… First happy hour ended at 7pm, then a month later 6:30 and now 6:00pm… lol Probably because my husband and I go in and get a $ 70 meal for $ 35 which is excellent :) Great Quality Food! I recommend the Nacho’s, Wings, Tuna, Especially the goat cheese Bruschetta my Fav!

Delicious food & great service! I did something I don’t usually do, I went to this restaurant without checking any reviews or really knowing anything about it. I drove by it and saw it was busy on a Monday night and decided to try it out. The environment was very warm and inviting. The staff were friendly and answered any questions we had. The menu was full of variety from salmon, ribs, delicious sandwiches and much more. I chose the pulled pork sandwich(which was so good!) and the server suggested sweet potato fries(which aren’t on the menu but are also amazing). I’m so happy I decided to try it out, I will definitely be returning!

I’m wondering how I haven’t heard raving reviews about this place by word of mouth. It’s aesthetically pleasing to the eye, they have a good beer, wine, & liquor selection, the food is much better than the average KC sports bars, and it’s a hopping spot for happy hour. It has a lot of seats for one bartender to take care of, but they were smart in how they set it up, so that just one could do it. I met a friend here for a beer and something to munch on. I tried the Irish Nahos and a Deschutes IPA. I was greeted within ample time, specials were announced and suggestions were made. The food arrived in timely window, it was good, and the presentation was nice. The service was fast and friendly as well. I’d come back here for sure!

This was our first time coming here. I have to say for the overall reviews I wasn’t expecting much. We were blown away by the service and food, in a good way! We got the mango martini, pot pie, nicks salad, and since we were newbies they treated us to any dessert on the house! Everything was delicious. Wed for sure come back again. Don’t let all the negative reviews deter you from coming!!!

Well since Will Jenny closed we have been eating here more, I haven’t had everything on the menu, but everything I have had is good. The Asian Chicken Salad, Porterhouse pork chop, meatloaf, and awesome tenderloin sandwich are some of my favorites. I also give bonus points for being locally owned, and they have awesome happy hour until six, get the wings for half off. best wing deal in kc and they are GOOD!
