When I went into get a ring resized I walked in and the workers automatically looked at me as if I was out of place and it made me feel very uncomfortable. I am 19 so I understand looking slightly out of place but the fact that workers would not help me was unacceptable. When I finally got someone to help me resize my ring they kept saying over and over again how they would never sell me something like this ring for various reasons. This ring was given to me by my boyfrie before he is being deployed with the marines so he can’t afford much and it is something that is extremely special to me. And I was never asking for their opinion about it. I was choosing between two sizes and the man helping me couldn’t care less when I asked for his expert opinion and was very obvious about it. I chose a size and left thinking maybe it was a bad day but when I came to pick it up the lady was very condescending and repeated how she would never sell me the ring yet again. I was very offended that I was not treated with any respect and was looked down upon. I am never going back because of this experience

Jewelry repair: My husband found the most beautiful necklace here for our 25^th Christmas together. I had actually spotted it online, but didn’t dare tell him about it, because it was more than I wanted him to spend on me. I didn’t even tell him I had looked at Joslin’s website, or any jewelry. Lo and behold, my beloved knows me too well. He picked the exact necklace I had fallen (silently) in love with.
However, after wearing it one time, the clasp broke. :(I was able to get to the store the week after New Year’s Day, and they repaired it on the spot AND upgraded the clasp. I was offered a different chain as well, but I do love this one. (I also purchased a chain for a VERY reasonable price for other jewelry I have at home.)
Dave and Gary, as well as Gary’s daughter (?) were just wonderful. Dave and Gary both treated me like an old friend… with deep respect, appreciation and happiness. You would have thought we’d spent tens of thousands of dollars here, when it’s a far cry from that. They treated the other customers that were there at the same time, just as well. I also had my rings cleaned, and they turned out beautifully, of course.
Once again, thank you, all of you. Five stars are not enough.

Good Unilocal reviews steered me into Joslin’s. I had been researching on the internet how much it would cost to resize platinum wedding bands and the prices average $ 100+. I needed to have 1 ring sized up and 1 ring sized down. I walked into the store and was quickly acknowledged. I was not planning to have service done there, just wanting to get quotes. I was AMAZED by the fact that they had my rings resized in less than 5 minutes for both rings! And to even top that off, it cost $ 25 for each ring! I plan on going back to have a couple of items fixed this week. The owner shook my hand, so super friendly and TRUSTWORTHY.

I had a white gold ring that needed to be replated with rhodium. Other jewelry stores in town gave me quotes from 50 to 75 dollars with a two week turn around. Joslins did it for 20 dollars and I had the ring back within 2 hours. They have wonderful customer service. I’ll be going to them for all my jewelry needs from now

I don’t want to call my fiancé picky, but she is selective. We ‘went to’ all the popular and heavily advertised stores in town. All the chains, a couple specialty places… short trips, they couldn’t find anything for us. Lots of items… all the same.
Found the PERFECT ring here (she said yes) and they are great on pricing, layaway, we even had to change the stone after the first one (which they found special request) just wasn’t what we hoped it would be. No fuss. I honestly can’t imagine ever going anywhere else.
Staff is wonderful, love the interactions. Selection is great.

I’ve done business with Joslin’s for years. I have bought some nice pieces of jewelry there and have gotten reasonable prices. I have also had jewelry repaired there and they’ve done a wonderful job. I had an opal ring with multiple stones surrounding a larger stone and one of the smaller stones fell out. They were able to match a replacement opal nearly perfectly and replace it so that if I didn’t know which one was replaced, I wouldn’t be able to figure it out. They also stand behind their work. They once added gold spring loaded earring leverbacks to some jade stones for me and after a few wearings, the leverback «sprung» on one of them. I figured that was just what sometimes happens to those as it had happened to other earrings I’d had in the past. I brought them back to Joslin’s for repair and they replaced the leverbacks free of charge.
Most recently, I gave them quite a challenge. For our second anniversary, my husband and I decided to get a matching band for my diamond channel-​set wedding band and have the bands welded to my engagement ring. The only problem was finding a band to match my wedding band. I had already searched far and wide but was unable to find anything that was a reasonable match. Joslin’s was able to send my wedding band off to New York to get it matched with a new band that is nearly identical. They then did expert work at welding them all together perfectly, even taking out just a tiny notch of gold where the solitaire setting hits each ring so they fit together just perfectly. Words cannot express how happy I am with the end result. It’s really beautiful.
In addition to the really great workmanship, these folks know how to do customer service right. They’re always friendly and helpful and the owner and the manager are very involved in the day-​to-​day operations of the store. There is no other jeweler anywhere that I would trust like I trust Joslin’s.
Oh…and a great tip: If you have white gold jewelry that is losing its luster, bring it Joslin’s. For a really reasonable price, they can clean your jewelry and add a nice layer of rhodium that will make it look shiny and new!

My wife called me at work and said she had a quote to repair her wedding ring and ring guard from a large OP jeweler for $ 398. I said that was way too high and we needed to take it to Gary at Joslin’s for a second opinion. Long story short, Gary fixed it for FREE in ten minutes while we waited. A couple of prongs needed to be tightened.
All Gary asked for was a handshake and our business. This is the type of ethical business that you want to recommend to others.

I am so discouraged! Took a Christmas present ring in to be sized (down) on Dec 28 and was told it would be ready on January 10^th. At 5:30 pm on January 9^th I get a phone call saying that they don’t size sterling silver
Took them 12 days to realize this? I just called them this afternoon at 1pm to see by chance it might be ready for pick up. Yet 5:30 they now see the ring?!! RIDICULOUS

I cannot say enough about how thrilled I am with the service I received at Joslins. My wedding ring is 20 years old and came from Helzberg. About 10 years ago Helzberg told me I needed my prongs retipped and charged me over $ 100 to do it. When it was done I wasn’t thrilled with how it looked and the tips no longer covered the corners of my princess cut diamond but they assured me it was done right. In November one of my prongs broke and my husband suggested I take it to joslins since he has heard good things about them. On December 31 I took my ring in and sure enough one of the unprotected corners now has a chip. They suggested I have the diamond remounted in v prongs that are white gold. It will hold the diamond more securely and mostly hide the chip. Hold my breath for the price…$ 85. What? That can’t be right. I said do it. Was told it would be ready in 2 weeks which seemed reasonable to me. They called 2 days later. It was done! I picked it up this morning and it is gorgeous!!! From now on all of my nice jewelry purchases will only be made here!!!

Bought a ring and was having some issues with it. Brought it back in to them and spoke with Dave he was very willing to help me. I ended up exchanging my setting in for a new one at no additional cost to us. I would recommend them to anyone! We will be back very soon!

I was referred here by another jewelry shop for a necklace repair since they only specialized in sterling silver. And let me tell you they went over and beyond my expectations! I haven’t had that type of customer service in a very long time. Coming from someone who works In the service industry I was very impressed. I walked in and was instantly greeted and was told they would be right with me. Meanwhile I struck up a conversation with another friendly associate and told her I needed a necklace repaired and the jeweler did it right there on the spot! To top it off they did it complimentary and sent me home with jewelry cleaner! I was so happy with my experience here I would recommend it to any and everyone!

I was recently gifted my mom’s old wedding set and needed to get it resized. I did quick google search and had two criteria: the jeweler needed to be locally owned (no chains or big box stores) and they needed to do all of their work in-​house and on-​site. I found a store that fit the criteria and took my ring for an estimate. 15 minutes later I walked out incredibly discouraged — they told me that nearly every prong needed to be replaced, that both rings (the engagement ring and wedding band she had soldered together) would need to be re-​shanked, and then it would be re-​sized and re-​soldered. The price tag? Nearly $ 600! That was significantly more than we had budgeted for resizing and repairing the ring and I was a little broken hearted.
I decided to consult Unilocal and the googles once again, and came across Joslin’s. I had heard radio commercials before but didn’t realize that they also did repair and resizing for rings that weren’t purchased at their store. I took my ring in and said nothing about what I had been told at the previous jeweler. The sales consultant took my ring behind the counter to the room where I could actually see the jewelers at work and a few minutes later came back and told me that the prongs look fine, that the back is a bit thin and will probably eventually need a quarter shank on each ring but looked fine for now, and quoted me $ 70 for the resizing. To top it off? The ring would be ready in 2 weeks. I was THRILLED!
I didn’t think it could get any better, but when I went to pick my ring up today — 3 days earlier than anticipated! — I discovered it was a tiny bit snug and had been sized a quarter size smaller than I thought we had originally discussed. I was a little disappointed but also realized that though it’s a bit snug now, it’s also the middle of summer and I’m 6 months pregnant — so once the heat subsides and the kid arrives, it should be just fine. The girl helping me (who happened to be the owner’s daughter) grabbed one of the jewelers — who just happened to also be her father and the owner — and they were SO understanding and accommodating. They offered to size it up the quarter size, same day, at no charge. I declined since I’m afraid that once I’m no longer swollen it would then be too large, but the fact that they immediately offered to take such good care of a first time customer who didn’t even purchase the ring from their store was amazing. They also said that if at any point I decide that I do want to have it resized, just bring it in and remind them of the circumstances and they’ll take care of it.
I never in my life thought I’d say «I have a jeweler», but, I have a jeweler, and I will be recommending Joslin’s to everyone I know.

My wedding ring had finally suffered its last indignity, after losing a stone, warping a setting, and finally cracking where it had been resized oh so many years ago. So we were off to find a replacement worthy of the many years we’ve now been together.
We headed here (once again, after reading the reviews), and the service was amazing. No high pressure tactics whatsoever, no lingering at the expensive settings by the salesguy (whose name I really should remember), no suggestions that we trade in my meager little center stone for something with more bling. In fact, they bent over backwards to help us find a reasonably priced dual-​ring setting that fit my existing center stone nicely. And then helped me design a pair of gorgeous stud earrings with the leftover side stones. The prices were all much better than we would have expected, and we got a formal paper appraisal in the mail a week later to add to the paperwork file.
I can’t imagine I’ll go anywhere else for any new jewelry or any repairs as long as I’m still in KC.

My fiancée worked with the folks at Joslins to create my one-​of-​a-​kind engagement ring after visiting many of the other larger jewelry stores in the area. Unlike their larger competitors, the staff at Joslins weren’t pushy or stuffy, but were extremely knowledgeable about diamonds and were super friendly. We also purchased both of our wedding bands and they were able to locate my unconventional band (horizontal bizet set baguettes) through their New York vendors at half the price of another local jeweler. Great local jeweler for KC!

Today was my first visit and the staff was very helpful and friendly. They also have a very nice selection. It’s always nice to shop in a locally owned and operated business.

My family has done business with these folks long before they moved to Overland Park. My father bought my mother a new set of wedding rings from Joslin’s on their 25^th anniversary. When she passed away the rings were given to me. I knew I would never wear her wedding rings and it was sad to leave them in a box. Since I only wear earrings and a watch, I took them to Gary to have them «re-​purposed.» He had another diamond the same size as the center stone so he removed it and I purchased the other diamond. He made the earrings and I’ve worn them every day since… it’s been 11 years now. I love them and my only regret is not having this done shortly after my mother passed away. I missed all those years of enjoyment.
If you have an old piece of family jewelry sitting in a box you might do the same thing and bring new life and enjoyment into the piece. It will surely make you smile, too.

By no means am I in a financial situation that allows me to frequent a «jeweler» too much but the people here treat me like I am Jay Z. From the moment I walked in the door a few years ago, I felt like I was a part of the family (hugs and all)
Sure, there’s places that spend tons of money on advertisements like Jared, Kay, Helzberg, ect, but this place in Overland Park doesn’t need to do so. Their customer service and fair pricing has afforded them to stay a successful business for many years… and that says a lot.
My (then boyfriend, now soon to be husband, yep got our rings here) wanted to repair one of my mother’s rings for me for my birthday and I suggested we go here. Background: he’s a skeptical advertising guy who appreciates good customer service. Once we walked out of there, the first thing he said to me was «no matter how much it costs, we’re doing business with only those people from now on» ’nuff said.
